M.Tech. in Embedded Systems - Batch of 2023
5.0
Overall, the best college for M.Tech. in Embedded Systems Course.
Placements: Our college will help you get placed. About 77% of the students from the group got a salary of 5 LPA in the previous year. The highest salary is 35 LPA. The best students earned between 10 LPA and 20 LPA. Some of the companies that come to our college for placements are Qualcomm, Intel, NHP Semiconductors, Texas Instruments, Nvidia and many more.
Infrastructure: The hostel is comfortable and flexible. Our canteen and mess cuisine are excellent, and we have a wide selection. Water is provided hourly, and the facilities are excellent compared to other hotels. Additionally, we have multiple stadiums with different coaches for each game.
Faculty: I have had a variety of experiences here. Some of the faculty were very good. They believed in practical learning rather than literary knowledge. Here we had the freedom to formulate and execute ideas. On the other hand, as seen in any institution, some teachers have no way of communicating with students. The semester examinations are of moderate quality with a pass rate of 74%.

4.2
MTech Computer Science (Data Science)
Placements: A lot of companies came to provide internships initially in the month of March-April. To start with, Intel was the first one as I could remember. Then QUALCOMM, Dell Technologies, AMD, SAP, Novartis, Amagi, and it is still going on. Mostly, the placements for MTech and Integrated MTech courses go parallelly. So, all the companies that come for MTech do hire all the integrated MTech students also. Even the companies that come for BTech, later or sooner, come to hire MTech students with obviously higher pay. From my experience, I can say that any student with a decent resume and CGPA can easily grab a good offer as the placement cell of VIT is really very strong that they manage to ensure all students are placed with a good future.
Infrastructure: VIT offers students an option to choose room type, block, and even the roommates (except for the freshers who only have the option to choose room type) based on their CGPA. There is a variety of options to choose from AC, Non-AC, to single, double, triple, quadruple, to 8-sharing options, and the block option might be limited to the room type availability. Each hostel has Wi-Fi that works from 6:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and night mess that operates from 10:30 to 12:30. There are also laundry services included in the hostel fees, which are more than sufficient for the academic year. There is a night curfew from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 am and students are not allowed to go outside their hostel blocks without proper permission and authorization. Even in case of any medical emergency, an ambulance will take you to the hospital inside the campus and bring you back till the hostel block. However, if you want to attend a lab or go to the library, you must reach there before 9:00 p.m. by signing in at the warden's desk, and when you come back, you need to submit the slip given by the librarian or lab in charge. Even these close by 12:30 a.m. Talking about the food, there is an option to choose between Veg, Non-Veg, and Special Mess, where delicious and nutritious food is served.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly and supportive, but if you mess with them, you are gone! The curriculum is updated every two years. Genuine feedback from students and industry standards are well taken into account. There are two internal exams of 50 marks each and one final exam of 100 marks in each semester. You need to score a minimum of 40% in the final exam and 50% overall in each subject to pass.

M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2022
5.0
100% placement is offered and it is the best college in India.
Placements: Excellent placement college is known for its placement. The highest package is 75 Lacs; 25 Lacs package was the average; most students got this package. AMD, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, etc. are big organizations conducting a hiring drive. Internships give real-time project experience with a good stipend. Data analyst intern and data engineer intern are the internship roles.
Infrastructure: The VIT College campus and extracurricular activities are very famous. Our fest was one of the biggest events. We have many sports competitions and events. Wi-Fi is available throughout the day, classrooms are big and spacious, and we have many libraries and study rooms that are useful during exam times. Hostel reviews are very poor; some block rooms are very bad; hopefully our room is good. Mess charges are separate; it has good quality food.
Faculty: Our teachers are very intelligent, and our faculty members are very qualified; they are master graduates from reputed companies, and some are our college alumni. Our course is very demanding in our time. We do not need to care about any placement; we just need to clear all semesters with good points. Exams are difficult.
Other: I have a complaint about loan facilities. The facilities are very poor; they charge 10% of the interest rate and the approval process takes too much time.

A:

Admission to VIT BTech course is based on VITEEE score, followed by a counselling round. Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology every year for admission to undergraduate engineering courses (BTech) of participating institutes. Every year, VITEEE is held to get students enrolled in various undergraduate courses. VIT also considers the eligibility of the aspirants for final admission. After completion of the selection rounds, the institute releases a merit list to announce the names of the shortlisted candidates. The shortlisted aspirants are called for counselling and document verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

Q:   Are admissions to VIT (Vellore) solely based on the VITEEE?
A:

No, VIT Vellore admissions are not solely based on VITEEE. The university conducts VITEEE for BTech admission, VITMEE for MTech admissions and VITREE for PhD admission. The institute accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc., for MBA course. However, admission to a few other courses, including BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BCom, MSc, MCA, among others, is based on the aggregate obtained by the candidates in previous qualifying degree/ exam (merit-based). After passing the entrance exam, aspirants are called further rounds of selection. Shortlisted aspirants need to come for counselling and document verification round.

The course is M.Tech and MS sandwich programme from Mechanical Background.
Placements: When we look at the current market of Mechanical /Manufacturing /Automobile, the jobs are getting marginalized and the current crisis is making them even worse. So, if you want to do both MS and abroad studies or want to start being an entrepreneur then this college is for you.
Infrastructure: Actually, my batch is the only batch for not attending the classes physically. So, based on my friends who have done their Masters this college is good. As our classes are held online, we can't come to the college and stay in Hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are the backbone of the VIT University. Many professors are very humble but strict at their subjects. They have immense amount of knowledge. This curriculum is very unique in whole India. Many professors publish their research work every year in International Journal.

I am absolutely satisfied because of faculty, placement, education, technology, and many more.
Placements: There were 100% placements in the computer science and engineering course. The highest salary package offered was 70 LPA, the average salary package offered was 8 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 6 LPA. Amazon, Microsoft, Google, IBM, etc., were the top recruiting companies. About 100% of students got internships. SDE was the role offered. VIT was established with the aim of providing quality higher education on par with international standards. It persistently seeks and adopts innovative methods to improve the quality of higher education on a consistent basis. The campus had a cosmopolitan atmosphere with students from all corners of the globe. Among engineering colleges in India, VIT was ranked 12 in 2021 and 13 by Outlook India. The Week ranked it 19 in 2019 and India Today ranked it 20th among engineering colleges in 2020. The VIT Business School was ranked 55 among management schools in India by NIRF in 2020.
Infrastructure: Everything is up to the mark. The hostel is a home away from home. The hostels at VIT was more than four walls and a roof. They had been designed to provide a comfortable, safe, inclusive, and secure living as they provide opportunities to form lasting friendships and ease the transition from home to college. Vellore Institute of Technology has 6 hostels for the accommodation of girl students. As many as 4300 students can be accommodated in girls' hostels. A well-equipped gym and modern swimming pool were present inside the hostel premises. There were two gyms on campus, one for boys and the other for girls.
Faculty: Faculty members at VIT were awesome The college had good faculty, great infrastructure, and the best placements. We had a great set of teachers who helped us in every aspect of campus life. They were very knowledgeable and supportive. They were very well qualified, and their teaching quality was up to the mark. There were over 1400 faculty members and 1413 staff members on campus. VIT had been accredited by TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant for academic collaboration and placements.
Other: At VIT, you could view diversity and get a handful to do whatever you want.

I am satisfied with my education life.
Placements: Around 90% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 16 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies are BMW, Valeo, Tata, etc. Almost 60% of students get internships on campus. The roles offered are design engineer and test engineer.
Infrastructure: The campus is equipped with Wi-Fi, the classrooms are top-notch, and the campus has the biggest library in the whole district. I am a day scholar so I do not know about the hostel facilities. But I heard from most of the students that all the given facilities are good.
Faculty: Around 90% of the staff are Ph.D. holders, and also the management is trying to make the campus 100% Ph.D. holding staff. The quality of teaching is higher than what students expect. The course will be relevant to the industry standard. If students study well, then they will pass easily. There is no difficulty in passing as the internals is 60% of the total marks. Getting grades is important here due to the absolute grading system.
Other: Mechatronics is the future so I opted for this course. Robotics is hands-on experience. The management should answer us responsibly if they have any queries. All the events are celebrated grandly.

Somewhat satisfied with the Faculty.
Placements: 65 % of students were placed. Our college provides 2 to16 lakh LPA. Mechanical related companies visit less for the placements. Our college takes companies like Titan, Rockwell etc. for placements. They provide jobs like senior engineer and design engineer.
Infrastructure: Our college is equipped with robotics lab, mechatronics lab, computer lab, library with Wi-Fi facility. I'm not hosteller, I'm a day scholar, so I don't know about hostel amenities. As per I heard from hostellers, it is also equipped with good facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members some time neglect undergrads and post-grade students and work on publication. Curriculum and exams are all good. The exams are very tough. If we study, we can pass them. If we didn't study, we will surely fail and then we have to reappear for the same subject next semester or next year with a re-registration fees of INR 6000.
Other: This course can make the future of the world.

A place to grow, a place to shine.
Placements: Software Engineer, web developer, graphic designer are the various roles offered in the course that I have pursued. The roles are totally flexible and if you are 9 pointers, you would be given an upper hand and an additional advantage at the time of placements.
Infrastructure: The food is good and there are multiple options depending on the person. There are options for both means and women hostels. You can either opt for veg or non-veg messes. You can also choose between south Indian food or North Indian food. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is good.
Faculty: The college follows relative grading, so examinations depend on your calibre. I have to admit that the faculty is very good and friendly. I have developed some memorable relationships with my faculty. They interact with the students often and are nice.
Other: The college fests are enjoyable.
