VIT Vellore MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
VIT Vellore MTech course is a two-year, PG-level course, offered in full-time mode. MTech at VIT Vellore is also available on the UG level as an integrated course with BTech. Some of the VIT MTech specialisations are MTech in Mechatronics and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Automotive Electronics, Biotechnology, VLSI Design and several more.
VIT Vellore MTech admissions are decided on entrance basis. The VIT MTech admissions require candidates to clear the VITMEE. In addition to the aforementioned entrance exam, candidates also need to fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the table below:

The total tuition fee for VIT Vellore BTech ranges between INR 4.9 lakh and 7.8 lakh. The total course fee, includes a caution deposit of INR 3,000 as well. BTech is available in 24 specialisations, namely Computer Science and Engineering (Bioinformatics), Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, etc. Aspirants are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. There are mainly two types of scholarships offered at VIT Vellore viz. Scholarships under the STARS programme and GVSDP scholarship.
VIT Vellore offers scholarships in the form of tuition waivers and freeships. While merit scholarships are awarded to class toppers, economically challenged students are provided need-based financial assistance. Furthermore, NRI and foreign students are given scholarships upon presenting meritorious records. The institute conducts VITEEE for BTech admission, VITMEE for M.Tech admissions and VITREE for PhD admission. The institute accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc., for MBA course. However, admission to a few other courses, including BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BCom, MSc, MCA, among others, is based on the aggregate obtained by the candidates in previous qualifying degree/ exam (merit-based). Candidates who have passed regular, full-time UG/ Integrated degree from a recognised institute/ university of at least three years of duration with a minimum of 60% aggregate (50% for SC/ ST candidates and applicants belonging to Jammu & Kashmir and North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) can apply for the MBA course. The official VITEEE 2026 dates will be released soon. The schedule should be checked regularly so that the students can be updated with the important examination and admission events. If any date is changed or postponed, the authorities will announce it online. Therefore, the candidates are advised to remain updated with the VIT 2026 schedule at the official website.
Candidates will be able to access their VITEEE result online at vit.ac.in. To download the VITEEE result, the candidates will have to log in using their application number and password. The authorities will not use any other mode to release the VIT result. Important details such as the scores and ranks obtained in the entrance examination will be available behind the admission portal.
