VIT Vellore Courses List & Fees 2026: UG, PG, Doctorate

Vellore Institute of Technology offers 66 UG, 58 PG, 15 integrated and two each of Research and M.Tech (Industrial) courses across multiple streams. The top courses of the institute, include BTech, MTech, MBA, etc. Candidates after completing Class 12 can apply for UG courses and graduation is necessary to apply for the PG courses. Eligible aspirants can apply for VIT admission. The institute conducts VITEEE for BTech admission,  VITMEE for M.Tech and VITREE for PhD admission. Other entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, NATA, etc., are accepted for providing admission to specific courses. Selected candidates are called for further selection rounds. After completion of the selection rounds, aspirants can pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

A pass in regular, full-time UG/ Integrated degree from a recognised institute/ university of at least three years duration with a minimum of 60% aggregate (50% for SC/ ST candidates and applicants belonging to Jammu & Kashmir and North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) is required to apply for the MBA course. 

Additionally, the institute shortlists candidates for MBA course based on national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, NMAT, ATMA. The shortlisted aspirants are further required to come for the PI round. Vellore Institute of Technology will also consider the academic performance and work experience of the candidates for final selection.

The institute offers over 20 BTech specialisations, namely Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Civil, Chemical, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, etc. Candidates, who have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% (50% aggregate for reserved categories) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 from a recognised board, can take admission to BTech course. The Vellore Institute of Technology has announced the VITMEE exam dates on the official website. VITMEE exam was scheduled for April 28, 2026 and May 3, 2026. Applicants had to carry their VITMEE admit card along with one valid photo ID proof at the exam centre. 

VITEEE 2026 exam dates will be announced. The candidates will have to select their preferred slot. VITEEE 2026 application form will have to be submitted before the final date for the eligible candidates to be registered for the examination. 

There are mainly two types of scholarships offered at VIT Vellore viz. Scholarships under the STARS programme and GVSDP scholarship.

Vellore Institute of Technology is a private university, recognised by UGC. BTech & MBA are the flagship courses of the university. As per NIRF 2025 rankings, the university has ranked 21 in "Overall" category, 14 in "University" category & 16 in "Engineering" category. The highest package offered to students during the VIT Vellore placement 2025 was INR 1 Cr per annum. Overall, it is a very good institute.

The facilities and amenities at VIT Vellore hostel include:

VIT Vellore offers BDes with a duration of four years. Candidates seeking admission to BDes courses must pass Class 10 and Class 12 from a recognised board. The admission to the BDes course is UCEED entrance-based. Further, VIT conducts VIT-DAT for students who have not attended UCEED exams. No, aspirants wishing to apply for BDes course at VIT Vellore should either have UCEED score or appeared for VIT DAT (Design Aptitude Test). VIT-DAT is a written exam of two hours duration consisting of objective type questions - MSQ & MCQ, short descriptive answers, and creative ability questions with no negative marking. The university gives 50% weightage to entrance exam score. After entrance exam, the next step of selection is based on portfolio followed by a personal interview round.

VIT Vellore believes in awarding the hard work of all the meritorious students in the form of scholarship schemes run by the VIT management. VIT Vellore scholarships and fee concessions are offered to economically weaker students as well to help them pursue their further education and to make them realise their true potential. Smt. Rajeswari Viswanathan Memorial Scholarship is offered by the institute to meritorious students from economically weak background. Apart from this, students are open to government scholarships. Candidates can apply for BBA at VIT Vellore directly after clearing Class 12 board exams. Selection will be done on Class 12 results only for candidates who fulfill the BBA eligibility criteria. Candidates are selected during a counselling round.

VIT Vellore offers scholarships in the form of tuition waivers and freeships. While merit scholarships are awarded to class toppers, economically challenged students are provided need-based financial assistance. Furthermore, NRI and foreign students are given scholarships upon presenting meritorious records. VIT University BCom course admission is merit-based. Hence, the selection is done based on aggregate obtained by eligible candidates in previous qualifying degree/exam. The shortlisted candidates are called for a counselling (virtual or physical) round. Moreover, the final admission to BCom programme subjects to merit list preparation based on cut off decided by VIT Vellore as per seat availability. The interested students can visit the institute's official website to register and apply for the UG course.

No, offline payment will not be accepted for VITEEE 2026 application fee. Candidates have to use online method i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. No other mode of payment will be accepted by authorities. If the candidates fail to make the payment before the final date, then their application will be rejected and they will not be allowed to participate in the entrance exam.

VIT Vellore is a home away from home; the hostels of VIT are designed to provide comfortable and safe living. There are 24 hostels at VIT. 18 blocks are designated for boys, and the rest are for girls. The block in total caters to over 22,000 residents every year. 

The hostel life of VIT Vellore is a blend of modern facilities and comfortable living. The residential staff of the hostel campus is always available the support the students. IIT Bombay declared the results of UCEED 2025 on March 7, 2025. The results were announced for all candidates who appeared in the design entrance exam. However, merit ranks were released only for those who qualified Part A and were shortlisted. Part B answer booklets of candidates who failed to qualify Part A were not evaluated. The qualifying marks for Part A were released around the time of the result declaration.

IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2025 exam on January 19, 2025 (9 am – 12 noon). The exam had two mandatory parts: the computer-based Part A and the offline Part B. The UCEED 2025 admission portal was uceed.iitb.ac.in, which hosted all key updates including the information brochure, eligibility criteria, syllabus, candidate portal, and downloadable resources like previous years' question papers and answer keys.
