VIT Vellore Courses List & Fees 2026: UG, PG, Doctorate

Vellore Institute of Technology offers 66 UG, 58 PG, 15 integrated and two each of Research and M.Tech (Industrial) courses across multiple streams. The top courses of the institute, include BTech, MTech, MBA, etc. Candidates after completing Class 12 can apply for UG courses and graduation is necessary to apply for the PG courses. Eligible aspirants can apply for VIT admission. The institute conducts VITEEE for BTech admission,  VITMEE for M.Tech and VITREE for PhD admission. Other entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, NATA, etc., are accepted for providing admission to specific courses. Selected candidates are called for further selection rounds. After completion of the selection rounds, aspirants can pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

A pass in regular, full-time UG/ Integrated degree from a recognised institute/ university of at least three years duration with a minimum of 60% aggregate (50% for SC/ ST candidates and applicants belonging to Jammu & Kashmir and North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) is required to apply for the MBA course. 

Additionally, the institute shortlists candidates for MBA course based on national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, NMAT, ATMA. The shortlisted aspirants are further required to come for the PI round. Vellore Institute of Technology will also consider the academic performance and work experience of the candidates for final selection.

The institute offers over 20 BTech specialisations, namely Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Civil, Chemical, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, etc. Candidates, who have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% (50% aggregate for reserved categories) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 from a recognised board, can take admission to BTech course. The Vellore Institute of Technology has announced the VITMEE exam dates on the official website. VITMEE exam was scheduled for April 28, 2026 and May 3, 2026. Applicants had to carry their VITMEE admit card along with one valid photo ID proof at the exam centre. 

VITEEE 2026 exam dates will be announced. The candidates will have to select their preferred slot. VITEEE 2026 application form will have to be submitted before the final date for the eligible candidates to be registered for the examination. 

There are mainly two types of scholarships offered at VIT Vellore viz. Scholarships under the STARS programme and GVSDP scholarship.

VIT Vellore has a good record of placements. As per the latest report, 868 recruiters visited the camous for 2025 drive and presented 14044 job offers to the students. The highest package offered stood at INR 1 Cr per annum. The students of the batch 2025 received 3563 super dream and 3499 dream offers from reputed companies. Some of the top recruiters include Mircosoft, Amazon, Oracle, Dell, PayPal, Cisco, Bank of America, etc.

The facilities and amenities at VIT Vellore hostel include:

VIT Vellore believes in awarding the hard work of all the meritorious students in the form of scholarship schemes run by the VIT management. VIT Vellore scholarships and fee concessions are offered to economically weaker students as well to help them pursue their further education and to make them realise their true potential. Smt. Rajeswari Viswanathan Memorial Scholarship is offered by the institute to meritorious students from economically weak background. Apart from this, students are open to government scholarships. Scholarships offered at the university for BTech applicants are based on their performance in VITEEE and they may avail scholarships based on the same as listed below:

The institute conducts VITEEE for BTech admission, VITMEE for M.Tech admissions and VITREE for PhD admission. The institute accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc., for MBA course. However, admission to a few other courses, including BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BCom, MSc, MCA, among others, is based on the aggregate obtained by the candidates in previous qualifying degree/ exam (merit-based). After passing the entrance exam, aspirants are called further rounds of selection. Shortlisted aspirants need to come for counselling and document verification round.

VIT Vellore is a home away from home; the hostels of VIT are designed to provide comfortable and safe living. There are 24 hostels at VIT. 18 blocks are designated for boys, and the rest are for girls. The block in total caters to over 22,000 residents every year.

VITEEE cut off 2025 will be released soon for admission to the VIT Vellore B.Tech courses. However, the authorities will not release the VIT Vellore VITEEE 2025 cutoff online and will only make it accessible to candidates who appeared for the entrance exam.

No, a minimum of Class 12 with at least 60% in PCM is required to apply for VIT Vellore BDes programme. However, there is relaxation in percentage for SC/ ST and students from North-Eastern states. Check below the detailed eligibility:

• Indian nationals/ Non-resident Indian National can apply for BDes course.
• Candidates should have passed Class 12 or Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised board/ university or its equivalent examination with at least 60% aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects to apply for BDes.
• Students who have appeared for Class 12 finals and awaiting results can also apply, subject to submission of passing certificate by the notified date.

Note: In case, applicants belong to SC/ST community or hail from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, 10% relaxation is provided.

VIT Vellore offers BDes with a duration of four years. Candidates seeking admission to BDes courses must pass Class 10 and Class 12 from a recognised board. The admission to the BDes course is UCEED entrance-based. Further, VIT conducts VIT-DAT for students who have not attended UCEED exams. IIT Bombay declared the results of UCEED 2025 on March 7, 2025. The results were announced for all candidates who appeared in the design entrance exam. However, merit ranks were released only for those who qualified Part A and were shortlisted. Part B answer booklets of candidates who failed to qualify Part A were not evaluated. The qualifying marks for Part A were released around the time of the result declaration.

Scholarships at VIT Vellore are mainly offered based on merit. However, economically backward students are provided with need-based scholarships. Check below some of the VIT scholarships:

IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2025 exam on January 19, 2025 (9 am – 12 noon). The exam had two mandatory parts: the computer-based Part A and the offline Part B. The UCEED 2025 admission portal was uceed.iitb.ac.in, which hosted all key updates including the information brochure, eligibility criteria, syllabus, candidate portal, and downloadable resources like previous years' question papers and answer keys. 

VIT Vellore BTech fee is between INR 4.9 lakh and 7.8 lakh as per official sources. Students should pay the course fee after completion of selection rounds to confirm their seats. Admission will be cancelled in case fee is not paid. Students also need to pay registration fee to apply for admission. BTech application fee is INR 1,350. Students can pay the registration fee through any of the online payment modes.
