Overall a great journey at NIT Raipur with amazing campus life.
Placements: Placements in the Mining branch at NIT Raipur are very good. Around 85 percent of students get placed every year in big companies. The highest package goes up to 20 LPA, while the average is around 9 LPA. Top recruiters are Coal India, Vedanta, and Tata Steel. Most students get internships in their 3rd year with a stipend of 20k per month. The placement cell is very helpful and prepares us for interviews. Overall, if you study well, you will definitely get a high paying job in a top PSU or private firm.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the Mining department is quite old but very well maintained. We have specialized labs for geology and mineral processing with all the necessary equipment. The campus has Wi-Fi, but the speed is sometimes slow in the hostels. The library is huge and has all the books needed for our course. Talking about the hostel, rooms are shared by 2 to 3 students. The food quality in the mess is just okay, mostly North Indian menu. We have a dispensary for medical needs and very good sports grounds for cricket and football.
Faculty: Teachers in the Mining Engineering department are highly qualified and have great industry experience. They are helpful if you ask questions, but the teaching style is mostly traditional. The course curriculum is updated and covers everything needed to make a student industry ready, especially for PSUs. Semester exams are quite difficult to pass if you do not study regularly. You need to focus on both theory and practical. The pass percentage is generally around 80 to 85 percent in our branch.
Other: NIT Raipur is famous for its Mining branch and the campus life here is very active. The best part is the 'Eclectika' fest and the technical clubs that help in personality development. The college location is in the heart of the city, so everything like malls and transport is easily available. The hostel facilities and mess food can be improved. Overall, it is a great place to build a career in engineering with strong alumni support and decent placements.

Good enough if we don't have other option.
Placements: Mining at NIT Raipur has decent but limited placements. Top recruiting companies are Coal India, SECL/WCL, CMPDI, NMDC, SAIL, and Vedanta. Packages are moderate. Most of the students prefer GATE exam for the job, and some for master of technology.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are good. But the only problem is that it has only few seats in the hostel. Rest have to find PG (paying guest) or flat for them which is available around the college within a 1 km range. It has 2 canteens, and they are actually good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. As I am in first year, I can't say about the industry level. But the semester exams are tough enough to get fails. In every semester, there is at least one difficult subject that we have to study carefully.

Absolutely satisfied because of my rank in JEE. Good placements, infrastructure could be improved.
Placements: Approximately 70-80% are placed in my course. The highest package is 62 LPA, the lowest is 7 LPA, and the average is approximately 10.2 LPA. BHEL, SAIL, and Indian Coal are the top recruiting companies for my course. Mine Manager and Mine Engineer are the top roles offered in my course.
Infrastructure: There are approximately 35 classrooms and 85 labs. Wi-Fi facility are also available all over the academic areas, including hostels. A dispensary is available for medical facilities, and of course, it is free for all students of NIT Raipur. For serious concerns, AIIMS Raipur is located 2-3 km away. Sports facilities are also available. There are 4 badminton courts in the admin block, including 1 in each hostel. Football, basketball, volleyball, and cricket are the most played games.
Faculty: Faculty members are awesome due to their knowledge. Coming to the quality of delivering content, it is satisfactory. Although every institute follows the same curriculum, this is one of them. There is nothing special. Mine visits are also available in the 3rd year. You can pass the semester exams by studying just 2 days before. The pass percentage is 35%.
Other: There is not any better option. At 93.6 percentile in JEE Main 2024, most of students, approximately 60% of the college, don't have hostel facilities. They have to stay in PGs. Hostels need to be made, and classrooms could be improved. Aavartan and Eclektica are one of the best events in central India, which are also conducted by our institute. Scholarships are also given. The campus is located near GE Road, in the city area of Raipur.

These are the facts about my college.
Placements: In my course, 60 students were placed last year from 90 students. The highest package is 23 LPA, and the average is 10 LPA. For mining, companies like Vedanta Group and HPCL come for placement. Other than this, in other branches, there are a lot of companies like TVS, Tata, PhonePe, Sony, etc. I got training at CCL, and my friends are allotted SECL, WCL, and ECL.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very nice because all the essential offices are in one place. There are 2 gardens, which are named Central Garden and Left Garden. There are 2 grounds, which are football and cricket grounds. Recently, in our college, a sports complex has been built. There are 4 hostels for boys and 4 to 5 hostels for girls.
Faculty: In our mining, the faculty is very good, always supportive of us, and very helpful in nature. So, in our college, there are 2 main exams in one year. It means we have to take 2 semester exams in one year, and each semester carries 2 exams, which are mid-semester and end-semester. The pass percentage of our branch is above 95%, and the same is in other branches.
Other: I chose this course because I always wanted to do something better or revolution. I can do this thing from my college because NIT gives me a tag after 4 years. I thought the practical session would increase in our college so that all students can understand what is going on in our syllabus. There are a lot of fests like Aavartan, Raga, Sanskriti, and Eclectic, which is the largest fest in Central India.

It has good placements in the mining branch, great hostels, and good professors.
Placements: Placements in the mining branch are generally offered by GATE in PSUs which mostly students target. Companies also recruit students through campus. Placements offered by the college are good. The overall average package offered to students is decent as well.
Infrastructure: The college provides a great laboratory for conducting studies in college. The infrastructure is great as well. Hostels are good and the mess offers healthy food facilities. Wi-Fi is provided in the college hostel which helps students. Classrooms are spacious as well.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful and teach the subject thoroughly. Overall, the faculty members of the college are very helpful. They provide students with various platforms on which students can improve themselves. The course curriculum followed is up to date and according to the course.

NIT RR: A Satisfactory choice.
Placements: About 80-85% of students got placed as per reports and information, we shared from seniors. The highest package offered is 60 LPA which is in non-core, but core placements are significantly better compared to non-core. The highest for non-core is 16 LPA and many students went for GATE.
Infrastructure: College has fewer hostel seats, but there are multiple accommodations nearby and it's good as the campus is not so big so you can travel easily. Other infrastructure especially for mining, is quite up to the mark but can be improved a lot. Hostel facilities are decent, good mess food, and Wi-Fi facility is available, and sports and games can be played.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good and knowledgeable. They help you to understand concepts, but self-study is a must to score well in college. I would say they should also help to get more opportunities and suggest how should we look upfront in our career path.
Other: Our batch size is 97 students. The best thing about our course is that we have ample good placement opportunities and through GATE also you can secure good placement. If we keep the placements aside, there are good opportunities for entrepreneurship too in mining sector as it's underdeveloped a lot in India and worldwide.

Glimpse of NIT Raipur: A brief introduction about NIT Raipur.
Placements: In my branch, about 92 students are studying with me. The highest package which has been offered is 55 LPA and the lowest is about 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Phonepay, etc. There are three roles offered in the college SDE, data analyst, and core placement jobs.
Infrastructure: In our college, hostel facilities are good but there are no available seats for all students. In the hostel badminton court, volleyball court, and other sports facilities are available. The facilities provided in the college are good enough. Wi-Fi is not available. Labs are well-established. The size of library is not very large for accommodation for all students of the college. In the hostel, food is available but the quality of the food sometimes changes according to the season and it is not very good but on complaining we get it correct and medical facilities are also available.
Faculty: College semester exams are divided into two parts mid-sem exam and end-sem exam. Mid sem exam consists of 30 marks, the end sem consists of 50 marks, and the remaining 20 marks are a teacher assessment. The semester exams are difficult for certain subjects but it is easy to pass means you do not need to study very much. To pass the exam you need to study before the exams and the percentage is mandatory about 75%.
Other: In the mining branch, there is a good option for GATE for getting a job in a PSU and there are many events that are conducted in our college such as a sports event visit conducted by Shaurya, Sahyog, and branch-related fest like MS Metso.

NIT Raipur has the best campus life, infrastructure, and a great connection with its alumni.
Placements: The placement for the year 2023-24 includes a total of 834 offers, with an average CTC of 13.75 LPA and the highest CTC reaching 55 LPA. Top recruiters include Wipro, Infosys, Adobe, Aditya Birla Group, and others. In the year-wise trend, the highest CTC for 2023-22 is 55 LPA. For 2022-21, it is 57.5 LPA. For 2021-20, the highest CTC is 57 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility in NIT Raipur is good. There are two hostels, one senior hostel, and one junior hostel. People from second year to fourth year stay in the senior hostel, while first-year people stay in the junior hostel. Both hostels have separate messes, and the food there is very good. Three people stay in one room, where there is electricity 24/7 and water facilities.
Faculty: All facilities are very good and supportive. They have all done their Ph.D. outside India. They are good in practical knowledge. There are two semesters in a single year, and a total of 8 semesters are done in the 4th year. All the knowledge helps to prepare students for the industry. Semester exams are quite difficult in college, and the maximum pass percentage is 75%.
Other: At NIT Raipur, you can do both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. I choose mining because of my interest. I love the mining area and the culture of the mining industry. The best thing about my course is giving practical knowledge of earth geology and the structure of the earth's surface. This is my favorite part of the course. There are multiple fests are organized, like the tech fest called Avartan and the cultural fest called Eclectika. The campus of NIT Raipur is the best, and there are many canteens.
