Review of IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: Placement statistics are excellent for circuital branches. The highest package goes around 1.2 crores per annum for quant companies. The median package lies around 20–22 LPA. Software and core companies are the top recruiting companies here. Most of them are either software, analytics, or consulting companies.
Infrastructure: In Rajendra Prasad Hall of Residence, the overall infrastructure is not up to the mark. In many halls, renovation work is being undertaken, and the rooms are quite sleek and modern. Wi-Fi connectivity in the rooms is very good. Labs contain adequate equipment. Classrooms are modern and equipped with projectors.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified in their respective subject areas. However, students may not find their teaching methods very appealing because of what they are used to in coaching centres. Faculty is knowledgeable. The examination schedule can prove to be quite hectic as well.
Other: I chose Electrical Engineering because it is a circuit-based branch. You are open to various company interviews. This is the best I could get for my rank. Events are going on round the clock. Fests are really good and organized on a large scale. Scholarships are awarded to students from lower-income families.

A great opportunity to achieve your dreams.
Placements: Up to 90% of students get placed in our course. The average package is around 12-15 LPA. The highest package depends on the performance of students in placements and the companies offering the roles. Structural and transportation engineering have many benefits, and more students get placed in our department. Overall, the placements are good.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of IIT Kharagpur is just awesome. Even though it is the oldest IIT, it resembles the best among all. Labs and everything are just perfect. There are no issues with Wi-Fi for students across the whole campus. The Wi-Fi strength is very good. The hostels are also good. The laboratories and auditoriums are also very good. The infrastructure of the classrooms is good.
Faculty: Faculty is very good and friendly. The way they teach is just too good. The exams are conducted very strictly with high security. Exams are also a little bit tough.
Other: Every event at IIT Kharagpur feels like a festival. Everything is perfect in IIT Kharagpur.

Review of IIT Kharagpur.
Placements: In my course, around 70% of students are placed. The highest package is 46 LPA, the lowest is 7 LPA, and the average is around 22 LPA. Top recruiting companies include MikoAI, UrbanCompany, EY GDS, AmX, and Nexus Cognitive. Around 50% of students got internships through word of mouth, but there is no confirmed source available. The official list of companies was also not released. Top roles offered include Software Developer, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, and Consultant roles, as most students prefer non-core jobs.
Infrastructure: Everything is well-maintained. But once a week, there is sometimes a water or electricity cut or minor issues. There is proper Wi-Fi with good internet speed. Classrooms and libraries are air-conditioned. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is decent, not top grade, but acceptable. Medical facilities are decent, with a hospital on campus. Sports and games facilities are available in each hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They explain concepts in depth and also cover extra topics that are useful. The teaching quality is good. The curriculum is relevant to the course. It is helpful for students aiming for core jobs and makes them industry-ready. Semester exams are slightly tougher compared to other college exams. Similar to IIT grading patterns, but most students pass.
Other: I chose this course because I want to explore different domains on campus. It includes software, startup culture, and the biotech core. Professors are very helpful and also provide knowledge about interdisciplinary fields. The administration can improve the biotech teaching perspective, in my opinion. There are many events, at least one each week, and good connectivity inside the campus. Though outside the campus, connectivity is limited. Students can also get scholarships, and extracurricular activities are more than enough.

Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur.
Placements: The placements are really good. Almost everyone gets placed, and a significant portion of them get into HFTs that are extremely high-paying. Roles that people from CSE are mostly hired for are quant and SDE, along with data, etc. Overall, placements are quite good.
Infrastructure: The course infrastructure is sufficiently good. However, the hostel infrastructure is just terrible. The food is absolutely atrocious, the rooms are not up to the mark, and there are several other issues. However, the college infrastructure is decent enough and sufficient for the scope of the course.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful and knowledgeable (at least most of them are). The course curriculum is fairly relevant and helps build the necessary foundation for students in the field of computer science. Passing exams is actually pretty easy here. Almost everyone passes.
Other: The main reason for my choice was the college, and also Computer Science and Engineering is one of the most in-demand fields right now. Campus life is good enough. There are fests and other activities, and something or the other is always going on.

Excellent academic rigour and legacy of IIT Kharagpur.
Placements: Around 80-85 percent of students in the Mining branch get placed. The highest packages (often more than 40 LPA-50 LPA) usually come from software or quant roles. The core mining companies like Coal India, Tata Steel, and Vedanta offer solid packages ranging from 10 LPA to 18 LPA. Many of us also get internships in the third year with some students heading to foreign universities or research labs. If you want to go into data Science or finance you'll need to prepare on your own but the IIT KGP tag definitely opens those doors.
Infrastructure: The Department of Mining Engineering is one of the oldest and best-equipped in India. We have some great labs and specialized equipment that you won't find elsewhere. As for the hostels (Halls of Residence), they are decent. While some of the holder halls like RP or RK have a vintage feel and the newer ones are quite good. Wi-Fi is generally fast across the campus and the library (central library) is a lifesaver during exams. The mess food is okay it's typical hostel food but there are plenty of eateries like night canteens to keep you going.
Faculty: The professors here are world-class. Most of them have decades of industry experience and are very approachable if you show interest in their research. The curriculum is definitely relevant to the industry especially with the focus on modern mining tech and safety. The exams are quite tough. You can't just study the night before and expect a 9 CGPA. The pass percentage is high because the students are smart but the grading can be competitive.
Other: I chose Mining because of the prestige of IIT KGP and the unique opportunities in the core sector. The best thing about this course is the niche expertise you gain which is highly valued in specific global industries. If you are joining be prepared for a bit of a remote location but the campus itself is a world of its own.

A beautiful campus - IIT Kharagpur.
Placements: Placement is very good here. Almost all of the students sit here for the placements. There are actually 3 types of people B.Tech, Dual degree B.Tech and M.Tech, and the IP law students and research scholars. Last time, the average package was about 14 LPA, the highest package was 1 crore per annum, and the lowest package was 8 LPA. Almost 97 percent of the success rate is there for the placements for those who sit here for the placements. Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Flipkart, opening their roles for SDE interns.
Infrastructure: Here are 3 shared rooms with good space and good mess food. Also, very good night canteens are there, which are mostly open from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM. All hostels have the facilities for all the sports like football, volleyball, basketball, and cricket. Also, we have a central hospital, B.C. Roy Hospital, where we can go in case of illness.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and always help us to solve the doubts and any kind of hostel issues too. Their teaching quality is great and the course always makes you very much industry-ready. The pass percentage is more than 95 percent. Exams are not too difficult for the students to pass, and easy to study too.
