NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar ranks 56 under the 'Overall' category, 47 under the 'Research Institutions' category, and 32 under the 'Engineering' category.
The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech/PhD courses will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.
A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 session 1 admit cards are available for IIT Ropar admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The admit card is available for students who will appear on Jan 28 and Jan 29, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 admit cards can now be downloaded from the official portal for admission to the MSc course. Further, the IIT JAM exam 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 15, 2026.

To get admission to IIT Ropar the candidates have to take the GATE exam and clear it. GATE is a national-level entrance examination for admission to postgraduate engineering programmes at IIT Ropar. Yes, IIT Ropar has eight hostels, six for boys (Satlej, Beas, Sindhu, Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune) and two for girls (Ravi, Venus) to house approximately 3000 students.
