For NIT Jalandhar BTech admission you must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 75% aggregate. Candidates are selected based on JEE Main exam followed by JoSAA Counselling. If seats are left vacant after JoSAA, those are filled by CSAB counselling. 

NIT Jalandhar has been ranked 46 among the top Engineering Institutes in India by NIRF 2023. NIT Jalandhar offers a four-year B.Tech course. This course is offered across 11 specialisations. Admission to BTech at NIT Jalandhar is entrance-based. Students need to qualify for a national-level entrance exam, I. e. JEE Main followed by JoSAA Counselling. This exam is conducted by the NTA every year in two sessions. Further, the seats that remain unfilled in JoSAA such seats are filled with CSAB Counselling. To get admission to this course, students need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria and qualify for the respective entrance exam. As per the placement drive 2023, the average package offered to BTech graduates is INR 12.44 LPA. About 701 students were placed during the NITJ placement 2022-23 and 49 job offers were offered above INR 25 LPA.

After CSAB counselling registration, the exam authority will start the choice filling process at the official website. Successfully registered candidates must complete CSAB counselling choice filling and locking with preferred course and college choices. Candidates first have to login using JEE Main application number and password to complete CSAB choice filling and locking process.  

To fill the remaining seats of NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. There are some special rounds after JoSAA counselling conducted by CSAB in which students can get a good college and branch even with poor rank. For Example MNNIT Allahabad had closing rank 2751 for CSE for General in JoSAA last round. But in CSAB round closing rank was 4761 for the same.

The JoSAA 2024 registration process started on June 10, 2024. There will be five rounds of JoSAA counselling. JoSAA released Rounds 1 and 2 seat allocation results and cutoffs. Knowledge of JoSAA dates 2024 helps candidates keep a check on the major deadlines, like the last date of registration. It is best to regularly check the official JoSAA website for the latest updates and announcements regarding the 2024 counselling schedule. Environment is good. Seniors are always friendly. No ragging. Ragging is prohibited strictly. Punjabi food is nice. So, obviously mess food is average. Various events. There are various clubs like LADS, MADS etc. For co-curricular activities. You will get exposure to brilliant minds (I am talking about seniors and not faculty). Placements for all branches are good. If you are in top 10% of your branch, than there are more opportunities. Training and placement cell works in a better way. Its not cumbersome to get NOCs, training letters. They always give their best to increase placement records. Campus's greenery is beneficial. Campus is clean most of the times. Technical and cultural events Techniti and Utkansh attracts 3040 colleges every year and you get more exposure. You will get exposure to various international conferences, workshops. New short term courses are launched under GIAN (Global Initiative of Academic Networks) initiative of MHRD which can be attended by students as well as faculty members. Infrastructure is improving a lot. New lectures theatres are built. New department buildings are in process of building.

The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For General category under All India, opening rank was 42650 and closing rank was 67696. The Cutoffs are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 42650 and 67696. Admission to BTech in Textile Technology in NIT Jalandhar is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

NIT Jalandhar will release 6-8 rounds of JEE Main cutoffs for admission to B.Tech in Instrumentation and Control Engineering. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors:

• The JEE Main score of the candidate
• The category of the candidate
• The number of seats available in the course

The cutoff trend for BTech at NIT Jalandhar has been increased in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for BTech under General category for AIQ was 10169. In 2022, it increased to 11547.

Similarly, the cut off changed from 14659 to 16506 for OBC, 65643 to 40521 for SC, 86192 to 67395 for ST, 11756 to 13749 for EWS and 349 to 262 for PWD. This is likely to continue, as the demand grows for engineering education in India. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.
