NMIMS DAT 2025: 2nd Phase Registration OPEN, Call Letter, Studio Test, Personal Interview, Portfolio Submission Dates

Yes, as part of the admission process, candidates have to upload their portfolios for Lot 1 by the given date. When uploading the portfolio, the candidate had to follow the guidelines outlined  by the admission committee.

It is mandatory for the candidate to duly complete all the stages of the admission process. Or else, the candidate will not be considered for admission.

The NMIMS DAT exam is conducted in an offline mode. Note that the exam includes a Studio Test and Personal Interview. Candidates had to appear in both the exams.

When preparing for the exam, the candidate must strictly follow the official pattern.

The online application process for NMIMS DAT 2025 will open in the 1st week of December 2025. The admission is activated on the admission portal of SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed to be University. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria can apply for admission.

As part of the application process, the candidate will have to fill in personal, academic, and contact details. Also, upload documents and pay the application fees.

Some of the skills of candidates that are tested in DAT include:

• Space Visualization

To get a good score in the DAT, the candidate must work on each of these skills.

DAT entrance exam is considered to be moderate. IN NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective, drawing related questions. Thus, candidates need to be extremely creative and have a clear understanding of their concepts when appearing for the DAT.

But note that difficulty level can also be subjective, as it may also depend on your level of preparation. For instance, if you prepare well, you may be able to solve even the so-called difficult questions easily.

In a Design Aptitude Test, candidates are asked drawing, sketching and general reasoning questions. The candidate needs to prepare for each question type to get a good score in DAT.

Some of the top design entrance exams that the candidate can take include NIFT, NID DAT, UCEED, and SEED.

NMIMS DAT 2025 sample papers should be used as exam preparation resources.

Sample papers will contain similar types of questions to those asked in the entrance exam. By solving sample papers you can get exam ready.

Also, silly mistakes can be fixed by solving sample papers. You can also improve your problem-solving and time management.

NMIMS DAT 2025 sample papers can be solved as part of one’s exam preparation. 

Also, you can solve them very early on in your exam preparation.

If you have completed a few topics, try solving questions related to those topics. As you move deeper into the syllabus, there will be more questions to solve.

Solve as many sample papers as you can.

The admit card for NMIMS DAT 2025 will be released before the exam.

To download the NMIMS DAT 2025 admit card, follow these steps:

1. Go to the admission portal

2. Click on the admit card download link

3. A log-in window will open

4. Enter your candidate credentials

5. On successful log-in, you can download the admit card.

The SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed to be University  offers a B. Des. (Humanising Technology at its School of Design (Mumbai Campus). Admission to the programme is based on merit of the NMIMS DAT 2024 exam.

Interested candidate need to fill out the NMIMS DAT application form. The application link will be given on this page. Note that only such candidate who qualify in the exam and meet the prescribed criteria will be considered for admission.

Classes for the new admission season will commence in July 2025. Candidates who have been selected for admission in the merit lists and paid the admission fees can join classes.

Note that the merit list will be prepared based on the performance of the candidate in the written exam and portfolio uploaded. If a candidate doesn't appear in an admission round, he or she will be disqualified.

SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed to be University will notify candidates about the release of the call letters. 

It is expected that the call letters for Lot 1 will be available for download from March 2025. The candidate will have to download the call letter using their candidate credentials.

Note that the call letter will be released separately for each lot.

SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed to be University will release the Merit List I of selected candidates in May 2025. The merit list includes the names of candidates eligible for admission to the design course. 

The candidate can download the merit list from the admission portal of the institute. Use your candidate credentials to download the merit list.

If the candidate is not included in the merit list, he or she will not be considered for admission.

Candidates who are included in the NMIMS DAT 2025 selected candidates list need to pay the seat-acceptance fees to confirm their seats. First merit list candidates have to pay the fees within the given deadline.

Note that if the payment is not made within the given deadline, the allotment will be cancelled and offered to the candidate next in the order of merit.
