NIFT GAT 2020 for BFTech, MFTech and MFM course admissions was held from 10 am to 1 pm whereas GAT exam for BDes and MDes course was held from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm today, January 19.
NIFT 2020 Entrance Exam is conducted to shortlist aspirants for admission in Bachelor of Design (BDes), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech), Master of Design (MDes), Master of Fashion Management (MFM) and Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech) offered at colleges accepting NIFT scores for admission. This year, a total of 4,297 seats are available for admission on the basis of NIFT Entrance Exam.
As part of NIFT admission test, candidates need to appear for Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). NIFT entrance exam 2020 was conducted as per the below-mentioned schedule:

Shiksha was reporting live from a test centre in GTB Nagar, where more than 200 students took NIFT exam. Most of the students who gave NIFT GAT exam shared that the questions asked were easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level. Aspirants also shared that they were able to complete their paper on time and compared to past years' NIFT exam papers, this edition of the design entrance exam was comparatively easier.

NIFT GAT 2020: Difficulty Level & Exam Pattern
Devika, DPS Noida: The exam was average. The numericals were easy. There was negative marking this time. Reasoning questions were easy. GK questions were on the latest trends and cloth material. Comprehension questions were easy.
Arushi, Siddharth Internal School: Exam was nice. Mathematics and reasoning questions were basic but current affairs questions were tough. The comprehension passages were moderate in terms of difficulty level. In NIFT CAT compared to previous year’s papers this year the questions were very easy.

Mitali Garg, Doon International School: Exam was good. The questions asked were better than the previous year’s NIFT question papers. Maths questions were a little difficult.
Priyanshi Bhatnagar, Aligarh Muslim University: The paper was easy. The Mathematics and GK questions were easy. The English comprehension passages were quite lengthy. I was able to complete my paper on time.
Shivani: I gave the NIFT exam for the first time and it was very difficult for me.
Khushi, KV Paschim Vihar: Exam was good. The passage was a little difficult as the questions asked were not direct they were mingled up in the passage and we were supposed to find the answer. Maths section had basic questions whereas reasoning and GK questions were fine. Compared to last year’s paper the difficulty level of CAT questions was a little high whereas GAT was almost at par.
Aryan Singh: NIFT GAT paper was easy as compared to CAT. Previous years’ papers were tougher than the paper conducted today. Reasoning questions were very easy this time. Maths questions were also simple barring two or three questions asked. GK questions were a little tough.
Aayush: The GAT part was more complex than last year but it wasn't that difficult. A few questions from GAT were pretty unexpected. Some questions were based on the Nobel Prize in Economics. Some questions were out of the box, including the questions from the general knowledge section. On a scale of easy to hard, I would rate the exam as average.
Parth: The exam was a bit hard. The GAT exam was tougher this time but the creative part was easier than last year. I would rate the exam as hard. It wasn't that easy. The GAT questions were unexpected.
Rishabh: I am from Meerut. The questions asked in the GAT were fine. The questions asked were just as I had prepared for. On a scale of easy to hard, I would say the exam was average.
Shikha, SSPS, Moradnagar: The exam was nice. The creative part was a bit confusing but the subjective and objective questions were nice. The questions in the paper were as expected and the paper was not that difficult.
Anjani: The paper was easy but the English part was a bit tough. Mathematics, logic and reasoning questions were okay and general knowledge was also average. The length of the exam was suited for 100 questions asked. The questions were a bit similar to the sample papers I solved. The exam, I would say was average with respect to the difficulty level.
Neha Chaudhary, Maneswar Public School: This was my first attempt of giving NIFT admission test and I was a little scared. The exam was okay. According to me, it was a little difficult. Paper 1 had difficult questions but I managed to finish the paper on time.
Deepanshu Singh: The exam was nice. I managed to complete everything on time. Paper was easy but it tested one's skills. I prepared by solving many sample papers and I am expecting a decent result in the exam.

There are a total of 19 NIFTs in India that participate in the NIFT admission process. The participating institutes offer B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses. Admission to the participating institutes will be on the basis of NIFT scores.
