UCEED Cut Off 2026 (OUT): Part A Cut-off (Mean & Standard Deviation), Category-wise Cutoff Marks

UCEED 2026 question paper will have two parts, Part A and Part B. Part B answer booklet will be checked only if a candidate qualifies Part A or meets cut-off. The qualifying cut-off for Part A will be determined by admission committee. It will be used to shortlist candidates for Part A. All candidates who qualify Part A will be allocated a merit rank and total score. 

The admission cut-off for UCEED 2026 will be released in last week of April, 2026. 

The seat allotment will be released online at the UCEED 2026- IIT Bombay admission portal uceed.iitb.ac.in.

Candidates who are allotted seats have to accept the seat and pay the fees. Note that candidates were also given the option to withdraw their seats.

The cut off marks for UCEED 2026 Part A were released on February 05, 2026.

Admission cutoff for UCEED 2026 will be released at the time of seat allotment. It is the minimum marks a candidate needs to secure in their category for admission to B. Des programme.

Candidates who meet cutoff criteria will be considered for admission. If candidate fails to meet cutoff, he or she will not be considered for admission.

The closing rank for IIT Hyderabad was 43. So, if you secure a merit rank of 100 in the UCEED 2026 exam, you chances of admission to the B. Des will be very low. To have a good chance of admission into the institute, you must target a UCEED merit rank within the top 40. However, note that if you belong to reserved categories, in that case the cut-off would be lower. Further, you will be considered for admission under both the reserved category and open category.

Yes, UCEED Cutoff will be round specific. It will be released separately for each round of seat allotment. Candidates who meet cut-off criteria in their categories will be considered for admission to the B. Des programme.

Cut-off for each round will be different for various categories like OPEN, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, etc. Candidates who meet the cut-off criteria for the category in a specific round will be eligible for admission to the B. Des programme. In case of candidates who fail to meet the cut-off in the first few rounds will be considered for admission in subsequent rounds.

IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2026 exam on January 18, 2026 from 9 AM- 12 PM. UCEED Test was conducted at the centres. The reporting time was 7 AM.

The qualifying cut-off for UCEED 2026 will be prepared based on the following formulae: Marks obtained in Part-A will be used to shortlist candidates. The cutoffs (Delta) for Part-A marks to shortlist candidates in the OPEN category will be Mu+ (sigma/2) = Delta, where Mu and sigma are the average marks and standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by ALL the candidates in Part-A of UCEED 2026. The Mu, sigma, and Delta will be rounded-off to two decimal places. The candidates belonging to the reserved categories shall have to fulfil a relaxed cut-off mark, which will be 0.9Delta for OBC-NCL/EWS, 0.5Delta for SC/ST/PwD, where Delta is the cut-off mark for OPEN category.

The UCEED question paper will be of 3 hours and include two parts - The computer-based Part A and the offline-based Part B. It is mandatory for candidates to appear in both the paper.

No, candidates will not be given a refund for UCEED 2026 application fee under any circumstance. UCEED application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. So, before paying the application fee, the candidate needs to make up their minds whether they want to appear in the UCEED exam or not. The UCEED 2026 application fee is INR 4000 for open, and INR 2000 for female and reserved category candidates.

IIT Bombay is among the most popular institutes to pursue a design course in India. So, it is no surprise that cut-off for admission to the institute is pretty high. UCEED Cutoff marks for Part A were out on February 05, 2026. For IIT Bombay, in 2024, the cutoff marks for Open category were: Opening: 1 and Closing: 14.

On clicking tab, candidates will have to explain problem that they are facing. They are also required to mention their registration number. It is advised that candidate not wait until the last minute to fill the form.
