UCEED Cut-off 2023 - IIT Bombay released the Part A cut-off marks of UCEED 2023 on February 9, 2023. The cut-off has been released in the form of a mean and standard deviation.

The mean deviation for Part A (UCEED 2023) is 57.63; the standard deviation is 24.52.

The cut-off indicates the minimum marks one needs to score to get shortlisted.

Note that Part B answer booklets were evaluated only for shortlisted candidates. Also, all shortlisted candidates will be issued a UCEED 2023 merit rank and will be eligible to participate in the Joint Admission Process or counseling.

The UCEED 2023 admission cut-off would be released at the time of the UCEED 2023 counseling and seat allotment.

The admission cut-off would be released for all five participating institutes and will be category-specific. It will indicate the last rank for which admission is offered in a particular category and will be based on factors like seat intake, the merit rank of applicants, total applicants, and the admission category.

The admission cut-off for the 1st round of seat allotment will be released on April 10, 2023. The 2nd and 3rd cut-offs will be released on May 10 and June 10, respectively.

UCEED Shortlisting Criteria 2022

Scores obtained by candidates in Part A of the question paper is used to shortlist candidates for evaluation of Part B paper. Also, only shortlisted candidates are assigned a provisional merit rank. The final merit rank is prepared by considering the total UCEED score, which is calculated by adding Part A and Part B marks. UCEED merit rank is used for admission in colleges accepting UCEED 2022 scores for admission.

The Part-A (UCEED 2022) qualifying cutoffs are released in the form of mean and standard deviation:

  • Mean deviation - 69.54
  • Standard deviation - 31.02.

Formula to calculate UCEED 2022 Part A score

The cut-offs (𝛿) for Part-A marks to shortlist candidates in the Open category will be 𝜇 + (𝜎⁄2) = 𝛿, where 𝜇 and 𝜎 are the average marks and standard deviation of the distribution of marks obtained by all the candidates in Part-A of UCEED 2022.

The 𝜇 and 𝜎 will be rounded off after the first decimal place. The candidates belonging to the reserved categories shall have to fulfill a relaxed cut-off mark. In the formula used, 𝛿 is the cut-off mark for Open category students. The formula to calculate the UCEED cutoff for different reservation categories is mentioned below:

  • 0.9𝛿 for OBC-NCL
  • 0.9𝛿 for EWS
  • 0.5𝛿 for SC/ST
  • 0.5𝛿 for PwD

Previous years' UCEED Cutoff

The cut-off for UCEED 2023 will be available at the time of seat allotment. Candidates can in the meantime refer to the previous years' cut-off to get an idea as to what is a good rank to be in contention.

A score of 60.93% in Part A may not be enough to clear UCEED. I would suggest you to check the official website of UCEED or contact the concerned authorities to know the minimum qualifying marks for this year's exam. This will give you a clearer idea of your chances of clearing the exam.

Des. ). Programs offered by IITs. The admission into IITs is based on various factors, including the UCEED score, category, and seat availability. The UCEED score is an important factor, but it is not the only factor considered for admission. As per the UCEED 2021 cutoffs, the minimum qualifying marks for EWS category candidates in UCEED is 69.6. A score of 104 is well above the minimum qualifying marks for the EWS category, but the admission cutoffs may vary each year depending on various factors like the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, etc. Hence, it is difficult to predict the admission chances solely based on the UCEED score. You can refer to the previous year cutoffs and keep an eye on the admission notifications to have a better understanding of the admission process. It is also recommended to apply to other design colleges as well to keep the options open. Wish you all the very best for your future endeavors!
