The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2025 cut-off marks for Part-A were officially released by IIT Bombay on February 6, 2025. The cut-off scores are determined based on statistical parameters, specifically the mean and standard deviation of Part-A scores. The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (UCEED 2025) are 61.50 and 25.69, respectively. All the candidates who appeared in UCEED 2025 can download their Score Card from March 10, 2025 to June 11, 2025 from the official UCEED 2025 website. All shortlisted candidates will get a common merit rank (All India Rank). All shortlisted candidates are considered as qualified candidates in UCEED 2025. Rank list will be prepared based on the total marks (Part-A marks and Part-B marks combined) in UCEED 2025.
UCEED 2025 Part-A Cut-off Calculation
Cut-off Formula:
- General/Open Category: Mean + (Z × Standard Deviation) = 61.50 + (0.2 × 25.69) = 66.63 (Rounded to 100 for the final cut-off)
- OBC-NCL & EWS: 90% of General cut-off
- SC/ST/PwD: 50% of General cut-off
Category | Minimum % in Each Section | Overall Qualifying Score |
---|---|---|
Open/General | 10% | 100 |
OBC-NCL/EWS | 9% | 90 |
SC/ST/PwD | 5% | 50 |
The Part A cut-off will be used to shortlist candidates. Part B answer booklets will be evaluated for qualified candidates. Total marks and category-wise UCEED 2025 merit ranks will be issued to candidates who meet the Part A cut-off. In the case of candidates who fail to meet the cut-off, the UCEED 2025 scorecard will only include Part A marks.
The cut-off marks for the 1st round of UCEED 2025 seat allotment were announced on April 21, 2025. The cut-off will be released category-wise for all the participating colleges and include the opening and closing ranks for admission to the B.Des program. IIT Bombay will separate cut-offs for each of the UCEED 2025 seat-allotment rounds.
Note that UCEED counseling will have 5 rounds of seat allotment.
The UCEED 2025 question paper will have two parts - Part A and Part B. The Part B answer booklet will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part A or meet the cut-off. The qualifying cut-off for Part A will be determined by the admission committee and will be used to shortlist candidates for Part A. All candidates who qualifies Part A will be allocated a merit rank and total score. Further, candidates who are allocated merit ranks are eligible to participate in the counseling process. Note that Part A cut-off is not the admission cut-off.
The admission cut-off for UCEED 2025 will be released at the time of seat allotment. It is the minimum marks a candidate needs to secure in their category for admission to the B. Des programme. Note that the admission cut-off would be prepared category. Also, there will be a total of three seat allotment round, and for each round a cut-off would be released. Candidates who meet the cut-off criteria would be considered for admission. On the other hand, if the candidate fails to meet the cut-off, he or she will not be considered for admission. It is important for candidates to not cons fuse the admission cut-off with the qualifying cut-off, which is only used to shortlist candidates for evaluation of Part B.
IIT Bombay release the cut-off marks for Part A in the 2nd week of February 2025.
The cut-off will be released in the form of standard and mean deviations. The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2024) was 41.90 and 16.72, respectively. In comparision, the mean deviation was 22.59, while the standard deviation was 11.82 for CEED 2023.
The cut-off is used to the shortest candidates; note that Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only for shortlisted candidates.
Additionally, all shortlisted candidates will be issued a merit rank, and so will be eligible to participate in the seat allotment process.
