UCEED Cut-off 2024 - IIT Bombay released the cut-off marks for the 1st round of UCEED 2024 seat allotment on April 10, 2024.

The cut-off has been released category-wise for all the participating colleges and includes the opening and closing ranks for admission to the B.Des program.

IIT Bombay will separate cut-offs for each of the UCEED 2024 seat-allotment rounds.

The cut-offs for the 2nd and 3rd rounds will be released on May 10 and June 10, 2024 (respectively).

Earlier, the institute released UCEED 2024 cut-off marks for Part A on February 8, 2024. The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (UCEED 2024) are 43.91 and 23.03, respectively.

Note that Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidate meets the Part A cut-off. This means if the candidate fails to meet the cut-off, his or her Part B answer booklet will not be evaluated.

Further, total marks and category-wise UCEED 2024 merit ranks will only be issued to candidates who meet the Part A cut-off.

In case of candidates who fail to meet the cut-off, the UCEED 2024 scorecard will only include Part A marks.

Latest Updates:

Q:   What is UCEED Part A qualifying cut-off?

The qualifying cut-off for Part A will be determined by the admission committee and will be used to shortlist candidates for Part A. All candidates who qualifies Part A will be allocated a merit rank and total score. Further, candidates who are allocated merit ranks are eligible to participate in the counseling process. Candidates who meet the cut-off criteria would be considered for admission. On the other hand, if the candidate fails to meet the cut-off, he or she will not be considered for admission. It is important for candidates to not cons fuse the admission cut-off with the qualifying cut-off, which is only used to shortlist candidates for evaluation of Part B.

Q:   Will I be allotted a merit rank if I don't meet cut-off marks for Part A in UCEED?

A:
The Part A cut-off marks will be used to shortlist candidates. Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only for shortlisted candidates. So, if the candidate fails to meet the qualifying cut-off criteria, his or her Part B answer boolets will not be evaluated. Consequently, the candidate will not be assigned a merit rank. UCEED Cut-off 2024 - FAQs

Go through the frequently asked questions on UCEED 2024 cut-off below.

Q:   Which colleges do I have a chance to get with a valid UCEED score? My rank is 1748.

A:
Here are some of the top colleges that offer undergraduate design programs and where you may have a good chance of getting admission with your UCEED score: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) Indian Institute of Technology Jabalpur (IITJ) Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IITKgp) Indian Institute of Technology Lucknow (IITL) Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IITMandi) Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IITP) Apart from IITs, there are also several other reputed design colleges in India, such as the National Institute of Design (NID), Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, MIT Institute of Design, and many more. You can research these colleges and their admission criteria to SEE which ones match your interests and preferences. Good luck with your admissions process!

Q:   What is the UCEED cut-off for admission to B. Des programme at IIT Bombay?

A:
IIT Bombay is among the most popular institutes to pursue a design course in India. So, it is no surprise that cut-off for admission to the institute is pretty high. For instance, for the academic session 2022-23, the Round I cut-off rank for the Open category was 16. The category-wise cut-off ranks for OBC-NCL category was 14, while the cut-off was 5 for SC and 3 for ST. Note that cut-off tends to get lower as we move from the 1st to the 3rd round of seat allotment. This happens because if there is any vacancy, it is allotted to the candidate next in the order of merit.

Q:   Can I get admission in IIT Hyderabad with 100 merit rank in UCEED 2024?

A:
The closing rank for IIT Hyderabad in 2022 was 43. So, if you secure a merit rank of 3 in the UCEED 2024 exam, you chances of admission to the B. Des will be very low. To have a good chance of admission into the institute, you must target a UCEED 2024 merit rank within the top 40. However, note that if you belong to reserved categories, in that case the cut-off would be lower. Further, you will be considered for admission under both the reserved category and open category.

Q:   Will UCEED cut-off be round specific?

A:
Yes, the cut-off for UCEED will be released separately for each round of seat allotment. Candidates who meet the cut-off criteria in their respective categories will be considered for admission to the B. Des programme. Also, the cut-off for each round will be different for various categories like OPEN, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, etc. Candidates who meet the cut-off criteria for the category in a specific round will be eligible for admission to the B. Des programme. In case of candidates who fail to meet the cut-off in the first few rounds will be considered for admission in subsequent rounds.

Q:   What is the process that will be used to prepare Part A UCEED 2024 qualifying cut-off?

A:
The qualifying cut-off for UCEED 2024 will be prepared based on the following formulae: Marks obtained in Part-A will be used to shortlist candidates. The cutoffs (Delta) for Part-A marks to shortlist candidates in the OPEN category will be Mu+ (sigma/2) = Delta, where Mu and sigma are the average marks and standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by ALL the candidates in Part-A of UCEED 2023. The Mu, sigma, and Delta will be rounded-off to two decimal places. The candidates belonging to the reserved categories shall have to fulfil a relaxed cut-off mark, which will be 0.9Delta for OBC-NCL/EWS, 0.5Delta for SC/ST/PwD, where Delta is the cut-off mark for OPEN category.
