UCEED 2022 Exam Analysis

The UCEED exam has two parts - Part A and Part B. The analysis of both parts is explained below.

Part A exam analysis

The difficulty level of the UCEED 2022 (Part A) question paper is as below.

  1. Numerical answer type (NAT) - Moderate but lengthy.
  2. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) - Easy
  3. Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) - Easy

Overall the Part A paper was lengthy, meaning better time-management skill was a key trait to doing well in the exam.

Types of questions asked

The question paper didn't include any GK-related questions. A few questions on the alphabet were asked. There were also a couple of questions on speed and distance.

Part B exam analysis

The Part B question paper includes a solitary drawing-based question. The question asked in the UCEED 2022 was labeled easy by most test takers.

The following sketching question was asked:

"There was a mouse in the school canteen and a boy who was scared to look at it climbed into a chair. A brave woman chases that rat. On the table, there were 2 bags and 2 bottles. One of the tiffin boxes was falling down from the table. There were some broken plates. The canteen owner was shocked to see all this. Draw this scene in the view of the canteen owner."

UCEED 2021 Exam Analysis

UCEED 2021 was conducted on January 17. Shiksha spoke to students who took UCEED 2021 exam center located at Rohtak Road. The majority of students who appeared for the exam shared that the paper was of moderate difficulty level.

The questions asked in UCEED 2021 exam were not that difficult, however, time management played a critical role in this national-level design entrance exam. Many students found themselves struggling with completing the paper on time.

UCEED 2020 Exam Analysis

Shiksha covered the exam live from a test centre in New Delhi. The majority of the students who took the exam shared that the difficulty level of the design exam was less as compared to last year's paper even though the exam pattern had been changed for UCEED 2020.

Overall, the students said they were able to finish the paper on time, and other than the lack of general knowledge questions the rest of the questions were pretty straight forward and anyone well-practiced in past year UCEED question papers would have done well in Part A section of the exam. Apart from this, questions in the paper were asked from:

  • Series and sequences
  • Visual puzzles
  • Visualisation questions
  • Shadows
  • Mensuration
  • Area and volume

UCEED 2019 Exam Analysis

UCEED 2019 was conducted on January 19, 2019 from 10 am to 1 pm. UCEED saw a noticeable rise in its applicants in 2019. The fact that it is a gateway to enter IITs without PCM in 10+2 is also a big draw among students. Among all the colleges that take part in the UCEED admission process only IIT Guwahati offers admission to those candidates who have studied PCM in their 10+2.

The uniqueness of UCEED being the only Design Aptitude exam which is computer-based, is making it all the more popular as students not having any formal training in drawing can also find their calling in UCEED exam pattern if they are gifted enough with the X factor of creative visualisation. UCEED 2018 Exam Analysis

UCEED 2018 was conducted on January 20, 2018 across 20 test cities in the country. UCEED exam was conducted by IIT Bombay from 10 am to 1 pm. Candidates need to clear UCEED exam in order to secure admission at colleges accepting UCEED scores.

The UCEED 2018 paper had 85 questions in total. These were divided into three sections, A, B & C, each carrying 20, 25 and 40 questions respectively. The marks corresponding to each section were 80, 100 and 120, respectively. There were no surprises in the exam since the pattern was the same as the simulated online mock test which was released on the UCEED website.

The mock test given on the official UCEED website would have been tremendously helpful to students who did go through it prior to the exam. It would make them familiar with the interface of the exam in advance because it would have helped them to understand how to flag questions which they could refer later for cross verification. View the complete UCEED 2018 exam analysis here.

UCEED 2017 Exam Analysis

UCEED 2017 was conducted on January 22 as a computer-based test. The UCEED question paper was easy and almost similar to the 2016 paper except that negative marking was not there for all sections. Rather only one section carried negative marking.

Section A, NAT (Numerical Aptitude Test) was a little lengthy and time consuming while the remaining sections were as usual. Some questions in the MSQ (Multiple Selection Questions) section were tricky. Read detailed UCEED 2017 exam analysis here.

UCEED 2016 Exam Analysis

UCEED 2016 was conducted on January 17. UCEED exam was conducted for the first time in 2015 and everybody expected the pattern of the exam to be similar to last year. But this was not the case. Just like CEED 2016, there was a change in the type and number of questions that were asked in UCEED 2016 from each topic. Although the syllabus for the exam was the same but UCEED paper didn't cover all the topics and high importance as well as the emphasis was laid on having tricky questions. Read detailed UCEED 2016 exam analysis here.

A score of 60.93% in Part A may not be enough to clear UCEED. I would suggest you to check the official website of UCEED or contact the concerned authorities to know the minimum qualifying marks for this year's exam. This will give you a clearer idea of your chances of clearing the exam.

Des. ). Programs offered by IITs. The admission into IITs is based on various factors, including the UCEED score, category, and seat availability. The UCEED score is an important factor, but it is not the only factor considered for admission. As per the UCEED 2021 cutoffs, the minimum qualifying marks for EWS category candidates in UCEED is 69.6. A score of 104 is well above the minimum qualifying marks for the EWS category, but the admission cutoffs may vary each year depending on various factors like the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, etc. Hence, it is difficult to predict the admission chances solely based on the UCEED score. You can refer to the previous year cutoffs and keep an eye on the admission notifications to have a better understanding of the admission process. It is also recommended to apply to other design colleges as well to keep the options open. Wish you all the very best for your future endeavors!
