UCEED Participating Institutes 2027 - There are seven participating institutes of UCEED 2027. The participating institutes offer B.Des courses and have an intake of 245 seats. Admission to the course is strictly based on UCEED 2027 merit ranks.
The list of candidates for B.Des admissions for the academic year 2027- 2028 will be released for IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur. A provisional seat allotment letter will be available for download in the candidate’s login after the seat acceptance fee has been successfully paid by those allotted a seat.

Admission to the B. Des programme at UCEED participating colleges will be on the basis of UCEED merit rank. So, candidates with a higher rank will get preference in the seat allotment process. The admission committee will also consider the college option opted by the candidate and their order of priority.
Candidates from any academic stream are eligible to apply for UCEED exam. However, for admission to IIT Guwahati, it is mandatory for candidates to have passed Class 12 from Science stream. The candidate needs to carefully go through the eligibility criteria before they apply. This is because the candidate will not be considered for admission to the B. Des programme even if they get a rank in UCEED if they don't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Also, any candidate who is found to be using incorrect information about their eligibility stands to be disqualified if caught.

UCEED 2027 counseling will be conducted by IIT Bombay. The counseling process will have five rounds. The Joint Admission Process will not have any spot rounds.
No, candidates will not be given a refund for UCEED 2027 application fee under any circumstances. UCEED application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. So, before paying the application fee, the candidate needs to make up their minds whether they want to appear in the UCEED exam or not.
To register for the UCEED Counselling, candidates need to fill the B.Des Application for Counselling. There is a common application form for all the IITs.
UCEED 2027 - Eligibility Criteria for admission
IIT Bombay will outline the eligibility criteria of UCEED on its admission portal - uceed.iitb.ac.in. The eligibility criteria pertain to the age limit, number of attempts, academic qualification, etc., that candidates need to meet for admission. If a candidate fails to meet these conditions, he or she will be disqualified.
UCEED 2027 Eligibility Criteria
- Age limit - OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category candidates need to have been born on or after October 1, 2002. SC, ST or PwD category candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1997.
- UCEED 2027 qualification - The candidate must have qualified for UCEED 2027 and obtained a merit rank.
- Qualifying examination - The candidate must have passed all five subjects in the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) in 2026 or 2027. Candidates who appeared in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2025 or earlier are not eligible for admission.

You can download candidate responses for Part-A of UCEED only till the declaration of the UCEED result. The download option will be disabled once the UCEED results are declared. No further requests will be entertained in this regard.
The UCEED application form is to be filled by candidates seeking admission to the B. Des programme. Also, UCEED scores are not considered for admission to the M.Des programme. So, the candidates must instead fill out the application form for CEED . Note that both the CEED and UCEED exams are conducted by IIT Bombay.

If you are appearing in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2027 you must ensure the following:
- (a) all parts of their final examination are completed by the date of application for admission, and
- (b) submit proof of having passed the qualifying examination with required eligibility by September 30, 2027 to the admitting institute.
UCEED Exam 2027 will be conducted on January 1, 72027 (Sunday), from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Details will be released on October 01, 2026 on the website.

UCEED 2027 - JOINT Seat Allocation Process
The counseling for UCEED 2027 participating colleges is conducted by IIT Bombay in online mode as a Joint Seat Allotment process. Candidates who have qualified UCEED 2027 and will be assigned a merit rank in the design entrance exam can participate in the counseling process. Application to B. Des Programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur (Participating Institutes) will begin in the second week of March 2027.
The allotment of seats to the B.Des program will be based on the following factors:
- The UCEED 2027 merit rank
- Reservation category
- Seats available in each institute at the time of seat allocation.
- Choices of institutes picked at the time of filing the counseling application form.
The seat allotment process of UCEED 2027 will be conducted in five rounds. The seat acceptance fee is INR 60,000 for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category candidates. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the acceptance fee is INR 15,000.

Yes, there will be biometric verification at the UCEED 2027 exam centre. Yes, the application form for UCEED 2027 will open on October 01, 2026. The candidate has the option to fill out the form with regular and late fees.

Cut-off for each round will be different for various categories like OPEN, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, etc.
IIT Bombay usually doesn't make any arrangements like baggage counters. So, it is a good idea for candidates not be bring any unnecessary stuff with them to the exam centre. Also, if the candidate has any doubts, he or she must go through the exam-day guidelines published by exam officials to check if any special arrangements are being made. Since it is unlikely that there will be a baggage counter, the candidate can not afford to bring valuable items and leave it unattended outside the exam hall. It is because if any valuable item is lost, IIT Bombay will not take any responsibility.
IIT Bombay will release syllabus for UCEED 2027 on October 01, 2026. So, if you are planning to appear in UCEED 2027 exam, you must follow the official syllabus.
UCEED syllabus contains topics that candidates need to prepare for the national-level design entrance exam. As per the UCEED syllabus, Part A has 57 questions and Part B includes two questions.
The UCEED question paper for Part A will include three sections. It will include 28 Multiple Select Questions (MSQs). Each MSQ may have one or more than one correct choice (s) out of the four given.

UCEED is one of the accepting exams for admission in BDes programme of MIT-WPU, Pune. However, it is not mandatory. Aspirants with scores in NATA, NIFT Entrance Exam or NID or MIT-WPU CET can also get admission in BDes provided they also pass the selection rounds.

Both institutions offer the BDes course but with completely different admission processes. IIT Indore accepts admission based on the UCEED entrance exam, while BITS Pilani considers the NID Entrance exam/ BITSAT exam result.
