UCEED Participating Institutes 2025 - IIT Bombay will release the updated list of participating colleges for UCEED 2025 on its admission portal, which will be launched at the time of the release of the UCEED 2025 application form.
Currently, UCEED 2025 participating institutes include SIX colleges. IIT Roorkee joined as a new member in the previous edition of the exam.
These institutes offer a combined intake of 225 seats for the B.Des program.
The detailed institute-wise breakdown and category-wise reservation of the seats are given below.
Admission to B.Des program offered by participating institutes will be based on UCEED 2025 merit rank. Note that scores of other entrance exams, including NIFT, NID DAT, SEED, etc. will not be accepted.
However, UCEED 2025 scores by result-sharing institutes will also accept scores of other entrance exams (including the ones conducted by the institutes themselves) for admission purposes.
Another key difference between a participating institute and a result-sharing institute is the former will participate in the Joint Admission Process (or centralized counseling) conducted by IIT Bombay. However, result-sharing institutes will not participate in the Joint Admission Process, and will instead conduct their own counseling. Candidates have to apply directly to these institutes based on their UCEED 2025 scores.
IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED 2025 exam tentatively in the 3rd week of January 2025.
Q: How many B.Des seats are offered by the participating institutes of UCEED 2024?
There are SIX participating institutes of UCEED 2024.
IIT Roorkee has newly joined the list of UCEED 2024 participating colleges.
These participating institutes offer a combined intake of 225 (up from 205 seats in the previous edition) seats for the B. Des programme. Admission to the B. Des programme will be based on UCEED 2024 merit. Of the five participating institutes, IIT Jabalpur has the highest intake at 66 seats. Meanwhile, IIT Bombay, which is the most sought after college has an intake of 37 seats. Note that the seat intake has been divided into various categories like Open, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and PwD.

The counseling process for UCEED 2025 will be conducted by IIT Bombay as a Joint Seat Allocation process.
To participate in UCEED 2024 counseling, the candidate must have qualfied in the UCEED 2025 entrance exam and been allocated a merit rank.
This means, if the candidate has failed to qualify Part A exam, he or she will not be allocated a merit rank, and therefore are not eligible to take part in the counseling process.
Note that the seat allotment for the B.Des program is done in five rounds.

UCEED 2024 exam results will be declared in March 2025.
IIT Bombay will declare the UCEED results 2025 at around 9.30 am. Note that the institute may or may not give any prior intimation as to at what time the UCEED results will be declared.
Note that scorecards will be available for download from March 2025. On result day, the candidate will only be able to see their qualifying status and scores.

The counseling registration window will open in March 2025.
The online registration for UCEED 2025 counselling will be conducted from in March 2025. As part of the counseling registration process, the candidate has to select their choice of participating colleges in the order of priority.
Note that UCEED 2025 counseling is conducted as a Joint Seat Allotment Process. There will be a total of FIVE seat allotment rounds, with the allotment of seats to be done as per the merit rank of the candidate.
As part of the eligibility criteria to participate in UCEED 2025 counseling, the candidate must have been assigned a merit rank in UCEED 2025.

Horizontal Reservation
- 5% of seats in each category will be reserved for PwD candidates.
- PwD candidates will be considered for seat allotment only in their birth category quota.
UCEED 2025 Result-sharing Institutes
The result-sharing institutes will allot some seats in their UG programs for admission through UCEED 2025.
However, the remaining seats may be filled based on scores of other entrance exams. This is in contrast to participating institutes that only accept UCEED scores.
Further, UCEED 2025 result-sharing institutes will not participate in the Joint Seat Allotment Process conducted by IIT Bombay. Instead, these institutes will conduct their counseling at an institute level.

UCEED 2024 - JOINT Seat Allocation Process
The counseling for UCEED 2024 participating colleges will be conducted by IIT Bombay. The counseling process will be conducted online as a Joint Seat Allotment process. Candidates who have qualified UCEED 2024 and been assigned a merit rank in the design entrance exam can participate in the counseling process.
The allotment seats to the B.Des program will be based on the following factors:
- The UCEED 2024 merit rank
- Reservation category
- Seats available in each institute at the time of seat allocation.
- Choices of institutes picked at the time of filing the counseling application form.
The seat allotment process of UCEED 2024 will be conducted in THREE rounds. The seat acceptance fee is Rs. 60,000 for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category candidates. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the acceptance fee is Rs. 15,000.

UCEED 2024 - Eligibility Criteria for admission
- Age limit - OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category candidates need to have been born on or after October 1, 1999. SC, ST or PwD category candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1993.
- UCEED 2023 qualification - The candidate must have qualified UCEED 2024 and obtained a merit rank.
- Qualifying examination - The candidate must have passed all five subjects in the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) in 2023 or 2024. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2024 or earlier are not eligible for admission.
