- IIT Bombay began the UCEED 2025 counseling on March 14, 2025. Candidates who have qualified in UCEED 2025 can register. IIT Bombay announced the UCEED 2025 results on March 7, 2025. The candidate needs to be shortlisted to participate in counselling. The candidate must check their eligibility before applying for counseling.
- To register, you need to pay the counseling fees, fill in personal particulars, and select institutes in order of preference. The counseling for UCEED 2025 will be held online; the counseling will be held as per the schedule released by IIT Bombay. The candidate must keep checking the IIT Bombay admission portal for updates. Once the counseling opens, eligible candidates must register. To register, fill out all the required fields. Based on the details entered by the candidate, IIT Bombay will allot seats.
- The UCEED 2025 counseling will have five-seat allotment rounds. The seat allotment for Round 1 was announced on April 21, 2025. The candidate can check the allotment online. Go to the admission portal and click on the seat allotment link. The list of candidates who are allotted seats will be available online.
- The allotment will be based on the merit order and information entered at the time of registration. Candidates who are allotted seats must pay the seat acceptance fee and confirm their seats. The seat acceptance fee for UCEED 2025 is INR 60,000 for open and INR 15,000 for SC, ST, and PwD categories. If the payment is not made within the given deadline, the seat allotment will be canceled and allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit.
The counseling for UCEED 2025 will be conducted online as a Joint Seat Allocation process. The counseling will be conducted in a centralized manner.
IIT Bombay will conduct counseling registration from the March 14-31, 2025; all candidates who qualify in the UCEED 2025 exam will be eligible to register for counseling.
The allotment of seats for admission to the B.Des programme offered by participating colleges is based on following parameters:
- UCEED 2025 merit rank of the candidate
- College option selected during registration.
The counseling process for UCEED 2025 will be conducted by IIT Bombay as a Joint Seat Allocation process.
To participate in UCEED 2024 counseling, the candidate must have qualfied in the UCEED 2025 entrance exam and been allocated a merit rank.
This means, if the candidate has failed to qualify Part A exam, he or she will not be allocated a merit rank, and therefore are not eligible to take part in the counseling process.
Note that the seat allotment for the B.Des program is done in five rounds.

UCEED Counselling 2025 - Eligibility criteria for participation
To participate in UCEED counseling, the candidate must meet the following conditions.

The 1st step of UCEED 2025 counseling is online registration.
The counseling registration process for UCEED 2025 will be conducted starting the 2nd week of March 2025. Candidates who have qualified in the entrance exam and have been assigned a merit rank in UCEED 2024 were eligible to participate in the counseling process.

Step -1 Registration Process for UCEED Counselling 2025
Candidates had to follow the steps below to fill out the UCEED application form for BDes admissions:
- Visit the official website of exam - uceed.iitb.ac.in
- Click on the BDes application portal button
- Login to the account using your registered email ID and password
- Fill out the BDes application form
- Select participating institutes in order of preference
- Upload scanned copies of prescribed documents (list of documents mentioned below)
- Pay the application fee of INR 4,000 through net banking, debit card, or credit card
- Submit the B.Des admission application form
Note: Candidates will be provided with the facility to edit their application form, including the order of preference of institutes, and re-submit it till the last date of the application process only.

Step 2 - Seat Allotment
The seat allotment for UCEED 2025 will be conducted in THREE rounds. Candidates selected for admission will be sent provisional seat allotment letters on their registered email IDs (the letter will also include a fee payment link to remit the seat acceptance fee).
Remittance of seat-allotment fee
The candidates have to remit the seat acceptance fee. If a candidate does not submit the fee, the seat will be canceled and offered to other candidates in the order of merit. Further, the candidate is not to be considered for subsequent rounds of seat allotment. Candidates who are allotted seats in any counseling Round have to pay the seat acceptance by the given deadline.

Factors considered for UCEED 2025 Seat Allotment
The allotment of seats (institutes) will be based on the following factors.
- UCEED 2025 merit rank
- Choices opted at the time of choice filling.
- Category of the candidate
Step 3 - UCEED 2025 Post-seat allotment options
Allotment of FIRST Choice Institute: If a candidate is offered his/her FIRST choice of the institute, the candidate can choose to ACCEPT (FREEZE) or DECLINE the offer. Note that if the seat is declined, the candidate will not be considered for seat allotment in any subsequent rounds. Also, the current allocation will be canceled.
Allotment of SECOND/THIRD choice of the institute - In this case, the candidate has two options before him/her: to ACCEPT (FREEZE) the choice or ACCEPT with the OPTION to be CONSIDERED for UPWARD MOVEMENT (‘float’) for subsequent rounds (if any).
- If the candidate accepts the seat, then he/she will not be considered for subsequent rounds as the current allocation is confirmed.
- If a candidate opts for the “FLOAT” option, the candidate may be offered a higher preference seat (if available) in a subsequent round. The candidate then has the option to accept the higher preference seat or decline it.
- If the higher preference seat is accepted, the seat allocated in the previous round will automatically get canceled.
- If the candidate declines the higher preference seat or no higher preference seat is offered (or available), the candidate will continue to hold the current allocation.
Last round of seat allotment
There will be no option to withdraw/ decline an accepted/ allotted seat after the seat allotment results have been announced in the last round.

The Joint Admission Process of UCEED 2025 will have five regular seat allotment rounds.
Also, any updates on SPOT round may only be notified by IIT Bombay at the end of the 5th round of seat allotment. Note that the SPOT round will be held only if there are vacant seats left after the complexion of the five regular rounds.

It is mandatory for candidates to get shortlisted to be included in the merit rank. Note that only such candidates who qualify Part A will get shortlisted.
IIT Bombay will release the cut-off marks for Part A around the 2nd week of February 2025. All candidates who meet the cut-off criteria will get shortlisted.
Further, only shortlisted candidates will be eligible to participate in the UCEED 2025 couneling process.

The exam analysis for the UCEED 2025 exam will be made available on this page within a few minutes of the conclusion of the entrance exam. IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2025 exam on January 19, 2025 (9 am – 12 noon). The exam had two mandatory parts: the computer-based Part A and the offline Part B. The UCEED 2025 admission portal was uceed.iitb.ac.in, which hosted all key updates including the information brochure, eligibility criteria, syllabus, candidate portal, and downloadable resources like previous years' question papers and answer keys.
Payment of Fees to Accept, Freeze, Float
- To opt for any of the three options - accept, freeze, or float - the candidate had to pay the complete seat acceptance fee (no partial payment is accepted). If payment is not done, the allotted seat is canceled. Further, the candidate is not considered for seat allotment in any subsequent rounds.
- Seat acceptance fee to be adjusted against institute fee: The fee will be adjusted at the time of joining.
- Refund of fees - In case the candidate declines the offered seat after remitting the seat acceptance fees, the refund of the fee will be governed by the policies of the admitting institute.
- Withdrawal and refund - If a candidate has paid the seat acceptance fee but opts for withdrawal after Round I up to one day before the announcement of Round III will get a refund amount equivalent to the seat acceptance fee minus the seat cancellation fee and processing charge of INR 5000. Refund requests made after the announcement of Round III will not be entertained.
Reporting at the Allotted College
After accepting the seat and making the payment, the candidate has to report to the allotted college and complete all admission formalities.
At the time of reporting, the candidate must bring with them originals and photocopies of all essential documents.
Key Points related to UCEED 2025 Seat Allotment (FINAL Round)
- Candidates who are allotted a seat for the first time in the final round have to directly pay the seat acceptance fee to the institute where they are offered provisional admission.
- Candidates who have paid the seat acceptance fee have to contact their respective institutes concerning the balance fee payment and registration process.
- There will be no further rounds of seat allocation, and hence there is NO option to withdraw an accepted/allotted seat.

Commonly asked questions
IIT Bombay usually doesn't make any arrangements like baggage counters. So, it is a good idea for candidates not be bring any unnecessary stuff with them to the exam centre. Also, if the candidate has any doubts, he or she must go through the exam-day guidelines published by exam officials to check if any special arrangements are being made. Since it is unlikely that there will be a baggage counter, the candidate can not afford to bring valuable items and leave it unattended outside the exam hall. It is because if any valuable item is lost, IIT Bombay will not take any responsibility.
Yes, there will be biometric verification at the UCEED 2025 exam centre. The biometric information (thumb impression and photograph) will be collected from the candidate before the commencement of the exam. On exam day, the candidate needs to bring with them a valid photo id proof and the admit card. Note that the photo id proof must be in the original; photocopies will not be accepted. Note that the candidate needs to report at the UCEED 2025 exam centre at least 2 hours before the commencement of the exam.
The UCEED 2025 exam will have two sections - Part A and Part B. While the syllabus has been revised for the exam, there are still some topics that overlap. For instance, Part A still continues to have the Analytical and Logical Reasoning, Observation and Design sensitivity, and a few other topics from the various edition. So, candidates can use the previous years papers to practice these topics. For the other topics, the candidate can try out sample papers.
In addition to the syllabus, IIT Bombay has also revised the UCEED 2025 exam pattern.
Part A will now have 57 questions (down from 68), while Part B will have two questions (instead of 1).
UCEED 2023 question paper included a total of 68 questions. The section-wise questions asked in Part A was: NAT (18), MSQs (18), and MCQs (32). Part B included a solitary Drawing-based question. The section-wise difficulty level of UCEED 2023 is given below.
