UCEED Mock Test 2026: Step-wise Process, Understanding Color palette and Time Management

The official mock tests are meant to be taken in the last few weeks before the UCEED 2025 exam. So, you shouldn’t typically take mock tests at the start or even middle of your UCEED 2025 exam preparation. The logic being mock tests are not designed to help you improve your problem-solving ability nor your time-management skills. In fact, mock tests are meant to help you get a exam like ambience before the exam and understand what is like to be inside the exam centre. 

That being said, mock tests designed by some coaching institutes are more comprehensive and might help you build problem-solving ability and time-management skills. 

IIT Bombay usually doesn’t conduct any mock tests for the UCEED exam. So, the candidate may take mock tests conducted for other entrance exams to prepare for UCEED 2025 exam. The candidate may note that in this case the mocks will help them understand how an online exam is administered and the navigation process. However, it is not an exact replica of how the UCEED 2025 exam will be conducted.

The mock tests are to be taken in the last few weeks before the UCEED 2025 exam. Avoid taking mock tests when you are starting preparation for the exam.

IIT Bombay generally doesn’t conduct any mock tests for the UCEED exam. However, if it does conduct any mock tests for the exam, it will include similar type of questions to the ones asked in the entrance exam. This means, the questions will be of the same difficulty level, and will cover the same topics. That being said the mock test may contain fewer number of questions that the actual exam.

By taking the mock tests, the candidate will be able to learn the navigation process and also give final touches to one’s UCEED 2025 preparation.

The mock tests are meant to serve the following functions:

• The mock tests for UCEED may help the candidate get acquainted with the functionalities of the exam.  

• Given Part A of the UCEED exam will be conducted in online mode, the mock tests will help the candidate get familiar with the navigation process, say from one section to another. 

• By taking the mock tests, the candidate will learn about the types of questions asked in the actual exam. 

• Mock tests will also help the candidate get into exam mode, learn how to handle different situations, including exam pressure, etc.

The question paper of UCEED 2025 exam will uploaded online at the UCEED-IIT Bombay admission portal UCEED. Iitb. AC. In. The question paper for UCEED 2024 will be released in downloadable pdf format, along with the answer key. To download the answer key, you simply need to click on the answer key link, and then download it in pdf format. Also, no log-in is required to download the answer key. You can also download the question paper from the download section. Go to downloads, and select the question paper you want to download.

IIT Bombay will release the question paper for the UCEED 2026 exam tentatively in the 4th week of January 2025. Typically, the question paper is released along side the draft answer key, a day or two after the conduct of the entrance exam. The candidate can download the question paper online. No log-in is required to download the question paper. Simply click on the question papers link; the question paper will open in downloadable pdf format. Here are some of the key benefits of solving UCEED 2025 sample and question papers: The sample paper will contain similar types of questions to the ones asked in the actual UCEED exam. So, by solving the sample papers, the candidate will be able to develop problem-solving and time-management skills. Another thing is previous years questions papers may throw light into the types of questions asked, marking scheme, difficulty level, etc. With better insights into the exam, the candidate will be able to adopt a better strategy for success. The more sample papers the candidate solves, the better place the candidate will be to do well in the UCEED 2025 exam.

IIT Bombay had released a notification on its official website notifying that the UCEED exam starting in 2024 will be conducted following a revised syllabus. As per the revised syllabus, there has also been some changes to the UCEED exam pattern. For instance, the Part B question paper will now include two questions - 1) one question will be on Drawing and 2) the other question will be on Design Aptitude. Note that previously, Part B included a solitary, drawing-based question. Also, the time duration for Part B has been increased to 60 minutes from 30 minutes.

The Part A paper of UCEED 2026 exam will be administered in a computer-based mode. So, the candidate must know the basics of computer handling to take the exam. Note that advanced knowledge of software and hardware is not needed to take the paper. Note that in the scenario there is a technical issue during the exam, the candidate may approach the invigilator for assistance. The invigilator will then take remedial steps to fix the problem. If the problem persists, the candidate will be assigned a different computer terminal.

IIT Bombay released the detailed exam pattern for UCEED 2026 on October 01, 2025. The exam pattern will be outlined in the information brochure for the UCEED 2026 exam. The candidate will be able to download the brochure online at UCEED. Iitb. AC. In. Note that no log-in is required to download the information brochure. This section will include pictorial and diagrammatic questions that will evaluate the candidates understanding of the transformation and manipulation of 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships. The candidate needs to practice the following topics to prepare for the section: Conventional/Unconventional Materials for Construction, Design, and Decoration Texture Making Materials, Production Materials, Decoration Materials - Flooring, Cladding (protective material which covers the surface of something), Wall Protection and Decoration - Paints, Plasters, etc. Pattern and Design of Paper Folding Materials and Type of Texture Optical Illusion (2D/3D objects and understanding).

The UCEED exam will have two parts - Part A and Part B. Part A will include Numerical Answer Type NAT Multiple Select Question (MSQ), Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Meanwhile, Part B will include drawing and aptitude-based questions. Note that in the previous edition of the exam, Part B include only sketching-based question. So, starting UCEED 2024, the candidate also needs to prepare for aptitude based questions that will be asked in Part B. Questions for the aptitude section will evaluate the ability of the candidate to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.

The important topics for UCEED 2026 Part B are given below:

• Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading.
• Design Aptitude Capability to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.

Mock tests are useful only when you take them closer to the exam. They are also by no means an integral part of one’s exam preparation in the early stages. When you are starting off your preparation and reach until the mid stage, all you need are test books, sample papers, and the notes you have taken. Once you have mastered the concepts and honed your problem-solving skills sufficiently, you can take the mock test. The mock tests at this stage will help you get acquainted with the exam process, especially the exam environment.

Mock tests are meant to be taken in the last few weeks leading up to the exam. Note that mock tests are not meant to help candidates master their problem-solving or even time-management skills. In fact, mock tests are held so that the candidate gets an exam like ambience and learn how to navigate the online exam. The candidate will also be able to fix silly or common errors by taking the mock test.

Sampe papers are on the other hand can be considered one of the major bacbones of the UCEED 2024 exam preparation process. By taking enough mock tests, the candidate will be able to develop one’s problem-solving and time-management abilities.

IIT Bombay will notify about any mock tests for UCEED 2025 on its official website. Also, there is unlikely that the candidate will have any option to ask any queries during the mock test, provided the mock test is conducted at all. The candidate simply will be able to take the mock test by following the mock test given on the UCEED 2025 admission portal.

The mock test will include questions similar to the ones that will be included in the actual exam. So, by taking the mock tests, the candidate will be able to finetune their preparation for the UCEED 2025 exam. 

If IIT Bombay conducts any mock tests for the UCEED 2024 exam, it will be hosted online at uceed.iitb.ac.in. So, to take the mock tests, the candidate will have to go to the UCEED - IIT Bombay admission portal and click on the mock test link. 

On clicking on the mock test link, a log-in window will open. It is likely that the log-in id will be prefilled. So, all you need to start the do is click on the log-in button to access the mock tests. After logging in, click on the “Start” tab to start the mock test.
