IT Guwahati will conduct the GATE 2026 exam on multiple dates in two sessions. The GATE 2026 exam pattern comprises the number and types of questions, marking scheme, for all 30 GATE subjects. Here is a brief information regarding the GATE 2026 exam pattern for aspirants -
- The GATE is a computer-based exam (held online) in multiple shifts.
- All GATE papers will comprise a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions are general aptitude of 15 marks.
- The GATE 2026 subjects are determined as subject codes, which candidates must take a note while filling out the GATE 2026 application form. Like for example, CS stands for computer science, CE stands for civil engineering and so on. Candidates must check the paper codes carefully before registering for GATE.
- The engineering mathematics carries around 15% of the total marks.
