Q: Is it possible for a non resident of Kerala apply for KEAM?

Yes, you can apply. Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for KEAM . Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders shall be treated at par with Indian citizens for the purpose of admission. However, PIO/OCI candidates will not be eligible to claim any relaxation meant for reserved category candidates. Indian citizens will further be classified as Keralites and Non-Keralites. However, candidates with non-Keralite nativity cannot claim any reservation of the state. Candidates have to complete all the steps to complete the KEAM application procedure. However, it is not compulsory to complete all the steps in one go. Candidates can do each step at a different time. But they should use the 'Save' button frequently to save the entered data.

If it doesn't turn green, your KEAM application fee payment has not been successful. No, it will not be rejected. The photograph does not require bearing name and date of photo taken. Also, if they appear at the bottom of photograph, they will be also accepted. Thus candidates can upload either type of photograph.

Q: I belong to General category. Is it required to submit Income certificate with the KEAM application form?

It is better to submit income certificate by all candidates except SC/ST. Those (including General Category) who wish to avail the benefits such as fee concession/scholarships that may be notified by the Government or college authorities subsequently, based on annual family income, should upload Income Certificate on the online KEAM application portal. No further chance would be allowed to submit Income Certificate.

Q: What is the age limit to appear for KEAM for engineering?

Candidates who are willing to apply for KEAM should have completed 17 years of age as of December 31 in the current year of admission. Candidates shall not be awarded any relaxation in the minimum age requirement. There is no upper age limit to apply for KEAM. Out of the total seats available for admission in various courses through this entrance exam, some seats will be reserved for different categories.

The educational qualification for KEAM will be different for various engineering programmes offered. However, the minimum eligibility criteria is that a candidate should have passed Class 12 with Science subjects. Qualification for engineering courses: Candidates are eligible to apply for programmes such as B.Tech (Ag. Engineering. ). And B.Tech (Food engineering. ). And B.Tech (Dairy Science & Technology) if they fulfil the below-mentioned criteria: Must have cleared the HSC exam of Kerala or equivalent from a recognised board. Must have secured a minimum 50% marks in Mathematics, as well as 50% aggregate in Physics and Chemistry. However, candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognised as equivalent thereto, with 45% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges/Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges. In case, a candidate has not studied Chemistry. The marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry. Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered The marks as shown in the mark list of the qualifying examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for determining academic eligibility. Qualification for B.Tech (DSc & Tech): Candidates are eligible to apply under this category if they have: Passed HSC exam of Kerala or its equivalent with 50% marks in Mathematics or Biology. Secured an aggregate of 50% in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology. Such candidates will need to pursue a make-up course in Basic Mathematics (2+0) credits or Applied Biology (1+1) credit as the case may be.

Before starting with online KEAM registration, candidates must keep the following things ready:

Computer System: The computer system used for applying online should have the following facilities:

Internet: Should have an internet connection.
Browser: Recommended browsers are the latest version of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
PDF Reader: Should have a PDF reader like Adobe PDF Reader or Foxit Reader. The soft copy/hard copy of the Acknowledgement Page that will be generated after applying must be kept in hand for future reference.

KEAM 2026 Prospectus: Download and read the prospectus of KEAM 2023 before applying for KEAM. The applicant should read carefully the instructions and be aware of the various Clauses of the KEAM prospectus.

Mobile Number & Email ID: When registering for KEAM, candidates should provide either their mobile number or their parent's mobile number. How to Upload Images and Certificates in KEAM Application Form?

On a plain white sheet, the candidate should put his/her signature in black/blue ink. The signature should be clear.
Scan this signature and crop around the signature.
Do not scan the full sheet.

Photograph of Candidate: For applying online, the candidates must have a scanned/digital image of their photograph. Specification of photograph image should be as follows (to be strictly followed):

The photograph must be in colour with a light colour background, white is preferable.
It must be taken in a professional studio. A photo taken by a mobile phone/tablet is not accepted.

The KEAM 2026 application form is made available online on the official website of KEAM at cee.kerala.gov.in. The online KEAM 2026 registration is a one-time process. During KEAM registration, candidates have to enter the following details:

Candidates should fill out the exam application form thoroughly. Any mistake in filling this form or if the candidate provides false/incomplete/wrong information then will affect the candidate’s eligibility for admission or claim for reservation under any category. KEAM application fee can be paid online or using the e-challan method.

Paying the KEAM application fee online: The Application fee can be paid through online payment. Those having an Internet banking account, Credit card or Debit card can make use of this feature. Candidates availing of this facility should read and follow each of the instructions given on the website carefully to that the payment is successful. In the unlikely event of the amount getting debited from the candidate’s account despite the transaction ending unsuccessfully, the candidate will get the amount reverted to their account within five days. On successful online payment, the candidate can go to the next step for uploading images and certificates.

Step 4: Uploading of images and certificates

After filling in all the details in the application form for KEAM 2026, candidates will have to upload their recent passport-size photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression, all in jpeg format of the given specifications.

Step 5: Take a printout of the KEAM application

The candidate should take a printout of the online submitted application, which contains all the information provided by the candidate. Candidates should also get photocopies of the course certificate and nativity certificates provided in the application for the further admission process.
