The provisional allotment is subject to the candidate fulfilling the criteria for Participating Banks and identity verification to the satisfaction of the allotted bank. This does not constitute an offer of employment. In case it is detected at any stage of the recruitment process that, the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria his/her candidature/ chance in the process shall stand cancelled. IBPS PO final allotment is done based on the performance in the Mains exam and interview. As the provisional allotment will be made to participating banks on merit cum preference basis, once the provisional allotment is made, no request for change shall be entertained. Any request for change shall result in cancellation of candidature.

Since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts and days the difficulty level of the question paper varies from one shift to another. Normalisation of score is done to balance and assist in fair evaluation. This method is followed both for prelims and Mains exams. Some of the benefits of normalisation are given below: The first assumption made for normalisation of marks is that the candidates across all the shifts of the exam have similar abilities The number of candidates appearing in the exam conducted by IBPS in large shifts is randomly done.

In the event of two or more candidates having obtained the same score, merit order is decided as per date of birth (the candidate senior in age is placed before/ above the candidate junior in age), as per the prevailing practice. A candidate belonging to reserved category, selected on the basis of norms as applicable to General Category, will be treated at par with a General category candidate. Such own merit candidates belonging to reserved categories who are provisionally allotted under unreserved (General) category will not be adjusted against a reserved post. However, their original category as registered in the online registration will remain unchanged.

A reserve list to the extent of approximately 10 percent of the vacancies under each category may be kept, subject to the availability of candidates. This does not guarantee provisional allotment to/recruitment by the participating banks. In the event of Participating Banks providing further vacancies during April 2024-March 2025 at different intervals, provisional allotment may be carried out three to four times for the candidates in the reserve list, based on the vacancies provided by some or any of the participating banks at different intervals during the period. However, if no vacancy is furnished by the Participating Banks owing to exigencies or otherwise during the validity period, the candidates under the reserve list will not be considered for provisional allotment. The reserve list will expire automatically on March 31, 2025. Candidates who are not provisionally allotted or not in the reserve list will not be considered for further process.

No, the marks of IBPS PO prelims exam are not considered for the final merit list. For provisional allotment of candidates, only the marks obtained in Mains and interview are considered. IBPS PO scores are calculated out of 100 marks. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are taken into consideration to select candidates for the Mains exam. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature. The ratio of candidates selected for an interview are 80:20. Aspirants are selected based on mains exam and their performance in interview is based upon final merit list. The interview is held for 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 40 per cent and for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD are 35 per cent.

IBPS PO interview is conducted for candidates who qualify the Mains exam. The interview is of 100 marks. The level of difficulty may be easy or difficult.It can be cleared with the right approach. For this, candidates need to answer the interview questions with creativity.
