KMAT 2025 exam day checklist: Karnataka Management Aptitude Test 2025 will be conducted on September 7, 2025, in the remote online proctored or internet-based test mode. This year too, the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) has decided to conduct the KMAT 2025 exam in home-based online proctored mode with the help of Artificial Intelligence and Human Proctoring. Students appearing for the KMAT exam 2025, should follow the KMAT exam day guidelines during and before the exam as anyone who does not adhere to these may be barred from taking the exam. Students are not required to visit the KMAT exam centre and can rather take the exam online from their homes. Q:   Will the KMAT exam be conducted in double shifts?
A:

No, the KMAT exam will be conducted only in single shift. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the KPPGCA, exam conducting authority, has resolved to the remote-proctored mode. Even then, the exam will only be conducted in one shift on a single day. KMAT exam pattern has not changed much since past few years. KMAT exam was conducted in the internet-based test mode in the morning shift on September 7, 2025. The shift timings for both the courses, MBA and MCA will be the same.

Q:   What items are prohibited during the KMAT exam?
A:

Candidates appearing for the KMAT exam, must not use any electronic item including the watch, mobile phone, ipad, calculator, smartwatch, etc. during the KMAT exam. Any candidate found using such an item during the exam will be disqualified. Candidates can check time on the onscreen timer on their computer systems during the KMAT exam. Apart from electronic items, stationary other than a blue/black ball point pen and eatables are not allowed. Caps and headgear, goggles, etc. which cover the face in any way are also not allowed during the exam. 

Q:   When will KMAT examination be conducted?
A:

KMAT 2025 exam was conducted on October 25, 2025, for session 2. Session 1 KMAT 2025 was conducted on September 7, 2025. The exam was conducted in the home-based online remote proctored mode. Candidates had to apply for the KMAT exam online by filling online KMAT application form. The application process started on September 16, 2025, for session 2.

KMAT Karnataka or Karnataka Management Aptitude Test KMAT is conducted by the Karnataka Post Graduate Private Colleges Association (KPPGCA) for admissions to Master of Business Administration (MBA), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Master of Computer Applications MCA courses. KMAT Karnataka was first conducted in 2003 and was born out of the need to have a unified entrance exam for the Karnataka state. More than 170 AICTE-approved MBA colleges and over 55 MCA colleges offer admissions based on scores obtained in the KMAT exam.

KMAT 2025: Guidelines for Online Proctored Mode of Examination

Candidates can take the KMAT 2025 test from their homes using a laptop or a desktop (with a webcam) and a 5 Mbps uninterrupted internet connection. Students must remember that they will be invigilated with the help of AI and Human Proctor. Candidates must take the exam ethically and honestly, as the exam conducting authority holds the right to disbar the candidate if he/she is found to be using unfair means.

Basic Instructions

  • Candidates appearing for the exam must use a laptop/desktop which has Windows 7, 8, 10 and Ubuntu LINUX (14.1 and 16) versions.
  • If the candidate is using a laptop, then he/she must make sure that it is connected to the charger throughout the exam duration.
  • The laptop/desktop must have a minimum of 4GB of RAM and an Intel Core i3 processor or above for the smooth conduction of the exam.
  • There must be at least 100 MB of free space on the computer.
  • Candidates must be seated in front of the laptop throughout the exam in a well-lit area where their face is clearly visible.
  • Candidates must take the exam in formal clothes.
  • Candidates must make sure that there shouldn't be any disturbance and noise in the background.

Instructions to be Followed During the Test

  • Applicants must not leave their seats throughout the exam because their videos and images will be recorded and supervised in real-time with the help of AI and a Human Proctor. If they do so, it will be considered a violation.
  • Applicants must not open any other application or a pop-up window, and if in case anybody is caught doing so, he/she will be disqualified.
  • Applicants will not be allowed to take breaks during the exam.
  • Applicants cannot use any electronic gadget, such as a tablet, calculator, etc,. while giving the exam. They can only use plain paper and a pencil after showing the same to the examiner.
  • Candidates are not allowed to talk or speak during the KMAT exam.
  • Candidates must have a KMAT admit card and a photo ID proof before sitting for the exam.
  • Candidates must not disturb the position of the webcam during the exam.

KMAT application fee is INR 850, including GST. Students applying for the KMAT exam have to pay the application fee online using online transcation methods. The fee is same for all categories.

There is no centralized KMAT counselling process. Students who match the cutoff after the KMAT result announcement will be called  by the participating institutes to take part in the counselling rounds. Students can choose their KMAT institute while filling the KMAT application form.
