IIT Gandhinagar PhD CDP Admission: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar is accepting applications from researchers and professionals for admission to PhD Continuing Doctoral programme 2024-25 (Semester II). The last date to apply for IIT Gandhinagar PhD CDP admission is March 26, 2025.

All IIT Gandhinagar PhD CDP applications must be submitted online, with a separate form for each discipline. Upon submission, applicants will receive an application number and a download link. Based on the application received, the names of shortlisted candidates will be released between April 6 to 8, 2025.

As per the announced date, the IITGN PhD CDP Written test and/or interview will be conducted between April 20 to May 20, 2025. A hard copy of the IIT Gandhinagar PhD CDP application form and self-attested documents must be presented at the interview.

Who are eligible for IIT Gandhinagar PhD CDP Admission 2024-25?

To apply for IITGN PhD CDP admission, a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD) or a 5.5 CPI (5.0 CPI for SC/ST/PwD) in a postgraduate or four-year bachelor’s degree programme in relevant disciplines is required for eligibility. These criteria serve as the institute-level minimum, while department-specific eligibility requirements may vary and can be accessed separately.

Departments may set higher cut-off levels for shortlisting, considering both academic performance and responses in the application form. Additionally, candidates from SC/ST/PwD categories are eligible for relaxations as per the applicable norms. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee shortlisting or admission.

IIT Gandhinagar PhD CDP Admission 2024-25 Procedure

The admissions to IIT Gandhinagar PhD CDP are primarily based on an interview, with a written test conducted if required. A limited number of candidates will be invited for the written test and/or interview based on their academic records, statement of purpose, and other relevant criteria. The final selection will be determined by academic credentials, performance in the written test (if applicable), and the interview. Q:   Can I get admission in IIT Gandhinagar without JEE Advanced?
A:

The answer is both yes and no. Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Gandhinagar are expected to qualify both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and further go through JoSAA counselling to secure admission. However, getting final admission only on the basis of JEE Main score, is not possible. Additionally, to be eligible for the BTech programme, candidates must have passed their Class 12 with 75% aggregate. Hence, while JEE Main is the most important starting point to get into IIT Gandhinagar for the glagship programme, it is not the only criteria for it. 

Q:   How much percentage is required for admission to IIT Gandhinagar?

IIT Gandhinagar offers UG & PG courses such as BTech, MTech, MSc, MA, etc. To get admission to these courses, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria to proceed with the selection process. Q:   Can I get into IIT Gandhinagar for M.Tech without GATE?
A:

Yes, non-GATE candidates must appear for the institute level entrance test. However, all candidates are required to appear for the PI round for final selection. In addition to this, BTech graduates from the IITs with CGPA/ CPI of 8.0 or above (on a scale of 10) are eligible to get admission to M.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar without GATE. Other than GATE or the criteria state above, candidates are required to be a pass in BE/ BTech/ MSc or equivalent in appropriate branches with a minimum of 55% aggregate or 5.5 on a 10-point scale (50% aggregate for SC /ST).
