IIT Goa admission 2027 is open. A few more updates are given below:
- GATE 2027 City allotment notification for admission to the ME/MTech and Phd will be announced on Jan 4, 2027. The exam will be held from Feb 6 to Feb 7, 2027; Feb 13 to Feb 14, 2027; and Feb 20 to Feb 21, 2027.
- IIT JAM 2027 registration process for admission to the MSc course has concluded. The exam will be conducted on Feb 14, 2027.
- JEE Main 2027 session 1 online application form is now available on the official website for admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses till Nov 22, 2026. The exam will be held on Jan 22,2027 to Jan 24,2027 and Jan 28, 2027 to Jan 30, 2027 respectively.
- CEED 2027 online registration for admission to the MDes course with regular fee will be ongoing till Oct 31, 2026. The further exam will be conducted in offline mode on Jan 17, 2027.
IIT Goa Highlights 2027
Indian Institute of Technology Goa, also known as IIT Goa, is a government institute established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (GoI). The institute is soon to have a permanent campus of nearly 4.65 lakh square metres in Farmagudi. Candidates who want to get admission can check its highlights below:
- Admission Criteria: IIT Goa admissions 2027 are based on candidates' performance in the accepted entrance exams. The institute accepts JEE Advanced scores for its BTech programme admission. For MTech and MSc courses, the accepted exams are GATE and IIT JAM, respectively. PhD course enrollment is based on exams like GATE, CSIR NET, etc.

- Cutoff: IIT Goa cutoff has finally been released for BTech, Integrated BTech, etc. courses. During JEE Advanced 2026 Round 5, the closing ranks ranged from 7024 (BTech in Computer Science and Engineering) to 14290 (BTech in Mechanical Engineering) for the General AI category students. For the MSc course admission, the highest rank accepted for the aforementioned category was 876 for the MSc in Physics course.
- Scholarships: Students can avail scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal, such as Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students, PMS for ST students, etc or apply to the institutional-level ones like MCM (Merit-Cum-Means) scholarship offered to non SC/ST students studying a UG degree. Eligible students get a monthly stipend of INR 1,000 for a maximum of 4 months per semester or 8 per academic year, with a tuition fee waiver for eligible semesters. Students can also avail the Free Messing (FM) scholarship that provides exemption from paying the hostel room rent and mess fee and a monthly stipend of INR 250 per month.

No, you cannot get admission to IIT Goa with a rank of 2267 in the IIT JAM exam. As per the IIT Goa cutoff 2026, the round three closing ranks ranged from 775 to 792 for the General AI category. Hence, admission to this college with the attained rank is not possible.

Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 4654 and, 10653 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. The Last Round for Computer Science and Engineering is 4654 for the General AI category.

Aspirants who have completed a master's degree in Science/ Engineering/ Technology or equivalent with at least 60% aggregate or CPI 6/ 10 or equivalent (55% aggregate or CPI 5.5/10 for SC/ ST) with a minimum of two-years of work experience at the time of application are eligible to apply for part-time PhD programme.
Candidates who have completed bachelor's degree or master's degree in Science/ Engineering/ Technology at least 60% aggregate or CPI 6/ 10 or equivalent (55% aggregate or CPI 5.5/10 for SC/ ST) can also apply. IIT Goa applications usually open in second week of June every year. The applications closes by the end of June. The institute also conducts a written test followed by interview to shortlist aspirants for the PhD programme. Yes, IIT Goa is ranked by NIRF for its BTech programme in the "Engineering" category. The latest rankings are yet to be released. In the NIRF 2025 rankings, the institute was ranked #116 in the Engineering category. Observing the ranking trend, a upward trend is can be seen.
