NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar ranks 56 under the 'Overall' category, 47 under the 'Research Institutions' category, and 32 under the 'Engineering' category.
The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech/PhD courses will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.
A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam for IIT Ropar admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses will tentatively be conducted between Jan 21 and Jan 30, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 exam date for admission to the MSc course is Feb 15, 2026.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar was established in 2008 as one of the eight IITs that was set up by the MHRD and the Government of India. IIT Punjab, through its 12 departments, offers UG, PG, and PhD courses to students across Engineering, Science, and various other streams. BTech is the flagship course of many IITs such as IIT Ropar. This four-year UG degree course is offered across different specialisations, including Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science and Engineering, etc. Admission to the course is based on merit in JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA counselling. IIT Ropar Cutoff 2025 will be updated here once out. IIT Ropar JEE Advanced 2024 cutoffs have been published for admission to BTech, Integrated BTech, and BArch programs. In Round 4, JoSAA cutoffs for 2024 varied between the 2262 and 11377 values. Notably, the B.Tech. in CSE is highly competitive among General category students under the AI Quota.
When we see the 2024 cutoff for IIT Ropar compare it with the past years, we see that B.Tech. in CSE has shown a decreasing trend in its final ranks. The Round 4 cutoff for BTech CSE was 1820 in 2023 and 1809 in 2022.

IIT Ropar Infrastructure
IIT Ropar permanent campus is located on Birla Seed Farms and is spread over 500 acres. The campus has academic, residential, sports, training and career development, transportation and healthcare facilities. IIT Ropar hostel facility is good as per the Shiksha verified reviewers. Some other facilities provided at this institute are as follows:
- Hostels: IIT Ropar has four hostel accommodations, three for boys and one for girls to house a total of 2,500 students.
- Sports complex: IIT Ropar campus caters to the sports need of students. It has a cricket ground, football ground, hockey ground, badminton court basketball court, tennis court for outdoor activities. The institute also has an indoor facility for table tennis.

Under the acquired rank of 12000, candidates cannot get admission for OBC Female category. First of all, IIT Ropar do not release its cutoffs based on Gender and State-level quota. IIT Ropar hostel fees vary for different courses. In 2025, the semester-wise hostel fee for B.Sc. and B.Ed courses is INR 31500. This is valid for new admission only till 31st December 2025. Details regarding the same are tabulated below:
