JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Result Out: Meet Topper Chirag Singh (AIR 201)
The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of JEE Main 2025 Session 2 on April 25. Among the lakhs of aspirants, Chirag Singh has emerged as one of the top performers with an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 201 and 99.993 percentile. In this interview, Chirag shares his preparation journey, strategies, and tips for future aspirants.
Q. Congratulations on your result! What was your first reaction when you saw your score?
Chirag Singh: I was really happy when I saw my rank, everyone in my family were proud of me. When I came to know my rank I felt joy and gained confidence that I will do more in JEE Advanced.
Q. When did you decide to pursue engineering and aim for the IITs?
Chirag Singh: In the starting of 11th class, I decided to pursue B. Tech. Engineering was my choice due to interest towards math and science.
Q. Tell us about your academic background and family.
Chirag Singh: My father is an ex-servicemen at Air Force and currently working in Bank of Baroda. My mother is a housewife. My schooling was in Lucknow Public School (Sector 4B).
Q. When did you begin preparing for JEE Main, and how did you plan your studies?
Chirag Singh: I started preparing for JEE Main from the beginning of 11th. Relied entirely on coaching, completed daily homework and prepared for tests for covering syllabus.
Q. What were your strong and weak areas during preparation?
Chirag Singh: My strong area is Maths, while weak area is Inorganic Chemistry.
Q. Which study materials or books did you rely on the most?
Chirag Singh: I referred mostly Allen online modules and no other books for JEE. Teachers gave me a lot of extra material to solve, so there was no need to use other books.
Q. How did you manage school board exams alongside JEE preparation?
Chirag Singh: After coming from school, I used to start studying right away and never really counted hours of study. I studied all the time I got. I completed all schoolwork during school hours and devoted my time at home to coaching and self-study. That helped me balance school and JEE.
Q. What was your exam strategy during the JEE Main paper?
Chirag Singh: My exam-taking strategy was to first attempt Chemistry, then Physics, and lastly Maths.
Q. How did you de-stress during such an intense preparation phase?
Chirag Singh: I took regular breaks and sometimes went for cycling outside whenever I was free.
Q. What’s your dream college and course?
Chirag Singh: My dream colleges are IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi, and I want to pursue Computer Science Engineering.
Q. What are your plans after completing B.Tech?
Chirag Singh: After completing B. Tech I don't have a hard and fast plan but I will most probably join a tech company.
Q. Your advice to future JEE aspirants?
Chirag Singh: Trust your teachers and obey whatever they say. Try not to have any backlog. Complete your homework in time daily. Analyse your test results properly. Discipline plays a major role while studying. And mainly accepting that ups and downs come in preparation, maintaining consistency is the key.
