CTET February 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) opened the CTET 2026 application correction window. A direct link is provided here. The CTET application correction dates are December 23 to December 26. This is the second chance for all the candidates to check details in the application form and if required make necessary corrections within the deadline. The CTET application process for the February session ended on December 18 (11:59 PM). The notification and application form were announced on November 27. Candidates who were interested could fill out the CTET application form. The CTET 21st edition 2026 exam will be conducted on February 8 (Sunday).  

The CBSE CTET exam is of national-level importance. It is conducted twice every year. It is a mandatory eligibility criterion for aspirants who want to apply for teacher recruitment in central government schools, such as KVS and NVS, for Classes 1 to 8.

CTET Form Correction 2026

The CBSE activated the CTET application correction link 2026 for the February session. Candidates also get the chance to make corrections in the already filled CTET application form. This facility allows candidates to rectify any errors in the online submitted form. This facility is provided by the CBSE for a specified time period. After that, no requests will be considered to modify the application and incorrect or incomplete applications will be rejected by the authority. The CTET application form correction process is shared below-

The CTET confirmation page is a page that gets auto-generated after successful payment of the application fee. The confirmation page acts as proof that a candidate has successfully filled and submitted the CTET application form. Candidates are required to take printout of CTET Confirmation Page. However, the Confirmation Page is not required to be sent to the CTET Unit or CBSE. Candidates need to keep the Confirmation Page along with them for record and future reference till the end of the entire exam process.

What is CTET?

CTET is an eligibility exam conducted at the national level. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the conducting body of the CTET exam. The CTET exam is conducted every year to determine the eligibility of students who want to become teachers in Central Government Schools, such as KVS and NVS, among others. There are two papers in the CTET- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for students who want to teach Classes 1-5 (Primary Teachers), and Paper 2 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6-8 (Elementary Teachers). CTET Eligibility Criteria 2026

It is very important for a candidate to go through once the CTET eligibility criteria before applying for the CTET 21st edition exam. Also, candidates can apply for either CTET Paper 1, Paper 2 or both Papers. Paper 1 is for teaching classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 for classes 6 to 8. Therefore, depending on it, candidates can apply and must fulfil the required eligibility in terms of age limit, qualifications, etc.

Class 12 with a minimum of 50/ 45 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ Education or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education OR

Bachelor’s degree with a BEd degree.

Paper 2 Eligibility for 6 to 8 Class Teachers 

Graduation with 50 or 40 per cent marks with Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years) OR BEd OR Bachelor of Elementary Education OR

Senior Secondary with 50 per cent marks, and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed.

Q:   What are the qualifying marks for CTET exam?
A: 

The CTET qualifying marks are different for different categories. General category candidates need to obtain a minimum of 60 per cent or above marks in the CTET 2025 exam in order to be considered as a CTET pass. The CTET passing marks for OBC/SC/ST category candidates are 55 per cent. Candidates scoring more than or equal to the qualifying marks are considered CTET qualified. Only those candidates are awarded the CTET Certificate those who secure the minimum qualifying marks. However, a higher CTET score is advantageous in the further teacher recruitment process.

Q:   Is CTET valid for lifetime?
A: 
The CTET exam is valid for life. Until 2021, the CTET eligibility Certificate was valid for a period of seven years starting from the date of declaration of result. However, in June 2021, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and CBSE as well officially extended the CTET passing Certificate validity to lifetime. However, candidates need to fulfil the age limit criteria fixed by the respective teacher recruiting body such as NVS, KVS or others. Therefore, candidates can apply for the teaching jobs after qualifying the Central Teacher Eligibility Test CTET however, they must fall within the age limit defined by the respective agency.
Q:   When will CTET result be released?
A: 

The CTET result 2026 will be released on the official website as a login link. The direct result link is provided on this page. The CBSE CTET result displays the marks obtained by candidates in each section as well as overal marks. The qualifying status of the CTET exam will also be mentioned on the result page. Candidates qualifying the CTET exam will be awarded the eligibility certificate. The CTET certificate will be available on DigiLocker.

Q:   What are CTET qualifying marks for the OBC category?
A: 
The CTET qualifying marks for the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category is 55 per cent. OBC candidates need to obtain 82 marks out of the total 150 marks to qualify the exam. A 81 mark scorer OBC candidate will fail to clear the exam.
