Review of Banaras Hindu University.
Placements: Our college has a placement cell. The average package offered ranges from 3-4 LPA. Many companies like Reliance, Amazon, and Flipkart are listed in the placement cell to hire students. The college provides internships for students in various companies and firms.
Infrastructure: Our college has good basic infrastructure and facilities like fully air-conditioned and furnished classrooms, an advanced commerce and economics lab, and an advanced library. There is Wi-Fi on the campus. There are two playgrounds for students.
Faculty: All faculty members and teachers are helpful. They provide doubtful classes and sessions for needy students through online classes and WhatsApp. The course curriculum is enough to get an average package, especially after the start of NEP 2020. Semester exams are held every 6 months. The difficulty level of exams is moderate. An average student can also score high marks.
Other: I chose this course because there is a high chance of getting placed in a prestigious company. We want some improvement in the area of internship. The cultural festivals and functions are held from time to time in the college. Uraan festival and Yuva mahotsav are held every year.

I am very satisfied with the college, except for placements, everything is nice.
Placements: Do not expect any placements from the Faculty of Commerce. Faculty makes it clear in the orientation that you are responsible for your own placement, though there is an active placement cell of BHU that can help you get a job. You can expect around 4 LPA on average after B.Com (H).
Infrastructure: From this year 2025, NEP is fully applied in the Commerce faculty. B.Com (H) is now 4 years instead of 3 years. There is an option to get an Honours plus Research degree in the 4th year. Unfortunately, the boys' hostel is under construction and renovation, and no male student is allotted a hostel.
Faculty: Faculty is very good and experienced, with professors having an average of 20 to 30 years of experience. The syllabus is slightly changed and updated due to NEP. I do not think B.Com makes a student industry-ready. Semester exams are not very hard to pass; only a few fail due to their own mistakes.
Other: BHU offers a wide range of facilities like cyber libraries, swimming pool, and more at very affordable rates. The crowd is friendly and interactive. Many fests and seminars happen at every corner of BHU throughout the year.

Top notch facilities at affordable price.
Placements: 1/4th of students who secured top ranks get easy placements among top universities and top MNCs, depending on their skills. Undergraduate students who apply for internship get more opportunities due to their reputation. Top course gets better placements, however, it is mainly dependent on individual skills and academic performance..
Infrastructure: BHU has one of the best infrastructures in terms of facilities like Wi-Fi classrooms and a library. It has one of the biggest libraries with computer facilities too, which is best for students. BHU provides a good hostel with food facilities at a very reasonable price. Its also best for international students, too, as they get 1BHK hostel facilities with a very affordable price.
Faculty: All the faculty members are well qualified and experienced. The exam level depends on the subjects and course. Mostly are related to pyqs and imp questions, one can pass and score good marks by having good conceptual clarity. Some faculty didnt give marks easily. You need to present your exam answers very well to score good marks.
Other: A lot of events, fests, and seminars are conducted on different topics in BHU where students can enroll and enhance their skills, personality, and connectivity. The best part is that you find students from different regions of India as well as foreign students. So its great for connectivity.

Placement opportunities are very less for B.Com students, but if you pursue higher education such as MBA and PG courses, then placement opportunities are very high.

My college experience at BHU.
Placements: Only 10-20% of students got placed in my course. The lowest package is 2.5 LPA to 4.5 LPA in my course. Top recruiting companies are Tata, Mahindra, and Reliance. Mostly the students got placed in Reliance and Tata. Top roles offered are accountant and finance.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good, and infrastructure also looks attractive. The campus is fully Wi-Fi. It also has lots of trees. Hostel facilities are also good, and the food quality is much better at an affordable price. Medical facilities and gym are there for students.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and very knowledgeable. Even the teaching quality is good. The course is relevant to the industry which helps students to make them industry-ready. Semester exam is not very much difficult. The students passed the exam by studying for 1 week before the exam. Pass percentage is around 40%.
Other: I was interested in this course because I wanted to know about the economy and consumer culture. More in-hand experience will make students and course much better. The fest is organised, and the connectivity is also there. Even the scholarship is provided to the students who are in need.

Neutral behaviour towards the faculty members, good infrastructure but can be improved.
Placements: Many of my batchmates got internships at various companies. The students at Banaras Hindu University got many internships on the basis of their qualifications and skills. The various companies like McKinsey, Accenture, LernX, Marquee, and many others.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are quite good. But hostel facilities are not available for the students of our course because the hostel is under construction. It is to be allocated this year. But there is no information regarding this from the faculty members.
Faculty: Faculty members of Banaras Hindu University are well qualified and quite helpful in some cases. The course taught to us is irrelevant because there are subjects like yoga, environment science, and a multi disciplinary course which are of no use in near future. Talking about semester exams, they are easier, one can pass the exam. If we start reading a week before exams, we may score good marks.
Other: I chose this course B.Com (Hons) to explore the field of accounting and commerce.

My college life on BHU campus.
Placements: Placement in my course is not up to mark. The placement is around 10% of the total batch strength. The highest level of package offered is 6 LPA, and the lowest is 2.50 LPA in my course. Top recruiting companies such as Bajaj, Tata, Reliance, etc. Almost 10-20% of students got internships in companies such as Axis Bank, Bajaj, Tata, etc. Mostly the role offered is an accountant.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, and there are also many facilities for students such as healthcare, hostel, and Wi-Fi campus. Gym is also there. There is no extra charge for this facility. The quality of the hostel is very good. Even the food quality is also best.
Faculty: Teachers are very much knowledgeable and qualified. They are very friendly in nature and like to interact with the students. It is upto industry knowledge. The semester exam is not very much difficult. You can easily pass by studying one day before the exam.
Other: I have an interest in this course because I have a commerce background. The best thing about this course is that it gives a diverse knowledge of human behaviour in purchasing products. I wish a little bit more industry exposure were required.

BHU: The birds-eye view.
Placements: The placement is quite good. 40% of students got placed in top companies like Barclays, Wipro, and different banks. Last year's package was up to 6 LPA in B.Com (Hons). Roles like financial analyst, data analyst, human resource, investment bankers, etc., are offered.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very awesome as it has a campus spread over 1300 acres of land, which provides free health facilities to students' residence as a hotel and libraries are there, mess food is also available, and free Wi-Fi, etc., which makes it complete.
Faculty: The course provided is up to date as per the new education policy with 4 4-year bachelor's programs. 8 semesters in 4 years are there with the great guidance of the faculty. Student can get great knowledge and can build up their higher studies.

BHU holds a legacy, and I feel blessed that I am able to get admission there.
Placements: BHU is not very well known for its placements. Only a few departments provide placements at the undergraduate level, and the commerce department is not one of them. My department doesn't offer any internship opportunities, and student will have to look for internships on their own.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. There is an overnight library facility for students. Free medical facilities are also provided in the university health center. The hostel is very affordable, but it is hard to get in as seats are limited. The allotment procedure is based mainly on merit. The quality of the mess food is good, and an in-campus Wi-Fi facility is also there for students.
Faculty: Professors are qualified and have deep knowledge of their subjects. However, their teaching style is more inclined towards the traditional method of teaching. They focus more on theoretical knowledge, and hardly anyone will prepare us for the industry. They provide us with the practical insights of the subject. But professors are helpful if we reach out to them.
