My experience at South Calcutta Law College.
Placements: As our college is a government college, no private companies actually come for placements, but off-campus we do find placements. However, the college should establish a placement cell so that it can assist with training and internships for students. The placement cell should also train with interviews and mock interviews.
Infrastructure: It is a single-building college. We have a library and canteen in our college. There are 5 floors for classes, and every floor has one year of study. The auditorium is used for our guests and any events, but it is also small. It has spacious classes, and there is an air-conditioned common room as well.
Faculty: Faculty members here are very helpful. They give us full freedom when it comes to attendance. Admission to this college can be through an entrance exam called CULET. There are 2 semesters in a year. Being a law college, it provides internships and moot courts to train students for the real world.

Good college in terms of ROI.
Placements: In the instrumentation engineering branch, almost all the students got placed with an average salary package of 8LPA to 9LPA. The highest package offered was around 14 LPA, and the lowest was 4 LPA. Many students also got PSUs through GATE. It also offers a platform for higher research.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are spacious and airy with installed ACs. Wi-Fi is also available on the campus. There is a library available in all three campuses of the engineering college under University of Calcutta. Labs are also well-equipped with the required and needful instruments. Students can get into a hostel after 2 to 3 months after enrollment in college. There is a different hostel for the JFT branch. The mess food is not bad overall, as the students manage and supervise the food quality. The hostel is also well-equipped with Wi-Fi.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. They are knowledgeable. The teaching quality was good in the first year of the course. All the teachers are basically assistant professors and all the courses have same syllabus and curriculum. After the first year, the syllabus of all department get core and also there is change in campus. The semester exams are not really hard, but you have to study. 75 percent attendance is one of the basic requirement of the arena.

Strict discipline, no massive fests, and good infrastructure.
Placements: Most students get placed in companies related to their fields, including IT companies, through the college, as I have heard from my seniors. The total fee for standard Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Honours) courses, such as Bengali and English, is around Rs. 52,400, approximately Rs. 13,000–Rs. 14,000 per year. The total fee for specialized science programmes, such as B.Sc. Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Honours, is around Rs. 1.29 lakh. The fee for specific professional arts courses, such as B.A. Communicative English Honours, is close to Rs. 1.20 lakh. As internships are now mandatory for our course, we have completed one internship through the college so far. The roles offered include Content Writer, Data Entry Operator, Assistant Teacher, and Assistant Professor.
Infrastructure: Since I am pursuing English Honours, I am not very familiar with the labs, but the classrooms and library are really good. The library is very informative, with a variety of magazines and books. Since I commute to college from home, I am not sure about the hostel facilities.
Faculty: Professors are really helpful. They are qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also good. Course curriculum is relevant. It helps students become industry-ready. Semester exams are conducted by the university, but they are easy. Students must score at least 30 percent marks separately in theory & practical/tutorial components. To graduate successfully, students need a CGPA of at least 4.000. This corresponds to 40 percent.
Other: Since I was interested in literature, I decided to study English Honors. I think we learn about the beginnings of English literature and the changes that have taken place throughout different periods. Semester 4 has a very lengthy syllabus, so I think it should be reduced. We should also get six months for each semester. We have an annual programme every year, and we also get opportunities to participate in fests at other colleges and showcase our talents.

Balance between jobs and studies.
Placements: 80% of students are placed in my college. The highest package is 4 LPA, and the average package is 2 LPA. Almost 90% of students are provided with internships where they master several vital skills for jobs. I would say that it is really worth the money we pay.
Infrastructure: We have a canteen, air-conditioned classrooms, hostels for both female and male students, Wi-Fi, labs, and a playground. Everything is neat and clean. Discipline is always well maintained. The college has a heritage touch to it, and it is government-funded.
Faculty: Teachers are extremely helpful. The curriculum followed is quite relevant to modern-day learning. The exams are a little more difficult than the rest to maintain parity with real-life scenarios. Every student is well-groomed for jobs and higher roles.
Other: We have various fests at our college, and they are filled with events. We also have a great alumni network.

I am fully satisfied. I would recommend to join my college, you would not be disappointed.
Placements: The total percentage of students was around 70 percent. The highest package offered was around 7 to 10 LPA, and the lowest was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies were ITC, Sun Pharma, Tata, and FMCG companies. Around 10 percent got internships. Roles offered were like Head of Accounts and account executive. Actually, it totally depended on you and how you scored your marks.
Infrastructure: The classrooms were pretty clean with Wi-Fi facilities. I actually didn't stay in any hostel, and it didn't have one either. What was special was that the cricket team of this college was the best team in our university in our town. So if you were good at playing cricket, you didn't need any other college to join.
Faculty: Teachers were really helpful throughout the course, and they were qualified teachers as well. We were CV-ready. The 1st and 2nd semesters were not very hard, but after that, you had to work hard to get marks. You needed to work hard to score better and better to get a job.
Other: I love accounts, so I chose this course. The syllabus needed some corrections. Events, fests, and moreover, the happening crowd were really good. The cricket team was the best team in the town among the colleges.

Placements: Placements of BBA and B.Com vary from salary packages of 2.5-3 LPA. Top 10% of students get placements with 3-4 LPA. The remaining students are offered salary packages between 1.5-3LPA. In the previous year, 2 students got placed with a salary package of 6 LPA with placements in a political consultation company, which was the highest. Most of the Science students don't opt for placements. They go for higher studies.
Infrastructure: The Science department laboratory is very good. The equipment is a bit old but they are maintained regularly. The infrastructure of the college is very good. It is a good college, and the buildings are well maintained. There are 3 hostels, one for girls, one for Boys, and one especially for the Christian students. The hostels are old but they are well-maintained. Each hostel has one faculty member assigned as hostel superintendent to supervise students.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified. Their teaching style is excellent, and they are very friendly. The university mainly decides the Exam and curriculum till this year, but it has become autonomous, now it will be decided by the college. As a student pov the exam schedule is bit disturbed, but the syllabus and curriculum are great, especially the Science subjects syllabus is well aligned for further examinations (eg., IIT JAM, CUET-PG, JEST TIFR, and other competition exams).
