Chandigarh University is a private university and was established in 2012. It is a popular university in Punjab and is recognised by the UGC. In 2019, CU became the youngest university in the country to be accredited by NAAC with an A+ grade in the first cycle itself. The university had also become the only state-private university of Punjab to be accredited by NAAC. It is the only university in Punjab and the region to get accredited by NBA for its Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Communications, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and MBA programmes.
Chandigarh University has been also been recognised by several recognising bodies such as AICTE, BCI, NCHMCT, PCI, NCTE, COA, AIU, and CSI. Post Graduate Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST: This financial assistance (offered via UGC) is offered to 1,000 SC/ST candidates who are pursuing postgraduate courses in professional* subjects via the National Scholarship Portal. Selected candidates will be provided a scholarship amount of INR 7,800 per month for the duration of the PG Scholarship. For other courses, INR 4,500 per month. Further, the tenure of the scholarship is for two/ three years depending upon the tenure of the PG course.

Chandigarh University conducts Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) for admission to a two-year MBA course. Through this entrance exam, Chandigarh University offers admission to eligible candidates. The CUCET exam is conducted online in two phases. After qualifying for the CUCET entrance exam, candidates will be shortlisted based on their results.
