    On Admissions
Q: Β  Do I need 60% in Class 12 to get admission in DU?
    A:

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.

However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).

Q: Β  How will I be allocated a seat at DU via the CSAS allocation (CUET UG counselling process)?
    3thumbs up
    A:

For seat allocation at DU, students are required to lock their college and course preferences after the result is out. Delhi University will consider normalised scores provided by NTA to calculate the merit scores as per programme specific eligibility. The highest possible preference will be provisionally allocated to the candidates considering the following
    criteria:

    • Program-Specific merit
    • Category of the students (UR/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ Minority)
    • Availability of seats
    • Any other allocation rules, policies, or criteria citied by (CSAS (UG)- 2025) or University of Delhi
Q: Β  Can I get admission in Delhi University without CUET?
    A:

CUET UG is compulsory for admission in the affiliated colleges of University of Delhi for UG courses. Delhi University introduced admissions through CUET scores in 2024 for candidates who seek admission. Candidates will not be granted admission on the basis of merit of class 12th. However, there are some specific percentage criteria needed to appear for the CUET exam for class 12th candidates which is given below:

    • Students must have passed Class 12 or appeared in Class 12 from a recognized board in any stream to take admission to bachelor’s degree programmes in the central, state, private or deemed universities.
    • For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50% in Class 12; for SC/ST, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% in Class 12 to be eligible for the CUET 2025. For BTch programmes, the minimum aggregate for the General category candidates is 45%, and that of the reserved category candidates is 40%.

Morever, candidates who wish to apply for Delhi University must have a valid score in CUET. Undergraduate courses including BCom, BTech, BA, BSc and more are offered by the affiliated colleges. Candidates can check the entire list of UG courses by clicking here. Also, to know the detailed analysis for Delhi University, stay tuned to this page

Q: Β  Can I get into DU with 500 score in CUET UG?
    A:

Delhi University offers UG courses based on CUET UG exam. Based on the DU B.Com Hons. cutoff 2024, It is not possible to get into DU with 500 score as the cutoffs for all the affiliated colleges under Delhi University were comparatively above than the score of 500. DRC is probably the second-best girls' college of DU.
Placements: Placement percentage is indeed a little poor at DRC as even Commerce and Economics students find placements hard. The Big 4 that is KPMG, EY, Deloitte, and PwC have been the best recruiters but they also note just a few students. Internship students have to find on their own as college doesn't provide that.
Infrastructure: The newly built building is perfect from AC classrooms to smart boards, we have them all. Our canteen too is amazing as it's an all-girls college and our canteen serves a variety of pastries. The only issue is with the auditorium as it needs serious development.
Faculty: Faculty members undoubtedly are all experts in the subjects. Also, many would complain that professors don't teach properly or anything. The course of DU for B.Com (Hons) is absolute. Exams are much easier as the passing percentage of our course is around 90 percent..
Other: The best thing is that our course opens various career doors and that was the belief that made me take this course.

    My experience of SVC Delhi.
Placements: There is a placement cell in our college. They help students to train for jobs and Internships. Companies like Deloitte, PwC, and KPMG have come to offer job roles to students. They also post it on LinkedIn and other social media accounts. The average package is 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: There are two buildings in our college and 3 blocks. It has big classrooms with modern teaching methods. The college has a canteen, and the food there is affordable. It has sports facilities like outdoor and indoor games. Overall, the facilities are good and luxurious.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful and provide notes to students in the form of PPTs and resources. They have graduated from good colleges, and many hold a Ph.D. degree. They are approachable as well. There is one teacher per 30 students. They conduct interactive classes.
Other: The fests that happen are best over here. Everyone enjoys a lot. The crowd is also very decent.

Average infrastructure, and faculty, and not great ROI.
Placements: I’m from B. Com (Hons) at Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi (2025–26 batch). Around 55–65 percent of students are placed. Avg package 4.5–5 LPA, the highest 8–9 LPA. Recruiters include Deloitte, EY, PwC. Internships 60–70 percent in banks, startups, and corporates.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are decent, Wi-Fi works but can be slow, and the library is very good with lots of study space. Hostel facilities are okay, mess food is average, and the canteen is better. Basic medical help and sports facilities are available. Hostel rooms are okay and manageable, mess food is average (some days better than others), and the canteen is more popular than the mess.
Faculty: Most teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and know their subjects well. Teaching quality is good overall, though it can vary from teacher to teacher. Curriculum Relevance: The curriculum is relevant and builds strong basics in commerce, but students usually need internships, certification, or skills to be fully industry-ready. Semester Exams: Semester exams are moderate, not too difficult if you attend classes and study regularly. The pass percentage is quite high (around 90 percent+).

    Ramanujan College, Delhi University.
Placements: Our college placement is good. About 60 percent of students who appear for placement get it. The companies that come for placement are big, including KPMG, ICICI Bank, Infosys, and others. Top roles offered are consulting, marketing, auditing, and more. Students from other colleges can also appear for these placements.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is better than other colleges. A new wing is under construction and will be ready to use in about 2–3 months. Classrooms have sufficient space for 60 students, the library is spacious, Wi-Fi is available, and the canteen is also available with good food.
Faculty: The college curriculum is very hectic, with classes starting from 8:30 in the morning to 5:30 in the evening. Faculty are knowledgeable and know what they are teaching. However, I don’t think the curriculum is fully up-to-date with current market needs, and practical skills are lacking. Regarding exams, most students can pass with a month of intense study before the exam.
Other: I chose this course because of my commerce background. The campus crowd is good, seniors are cooperative. OBC, ST, and SC students can get scholarships. Regular ECA (extracurricular activity) events are conducted.

Absolutely good. To be honest, I consider this college as the best decision of my life.
Placements: Almost 90 percent students were placed in my course. The top recruiting companies of my course are Deloitte, Google, DE Shaw. It’s around 70–80 percent ratio of students with top recruiting companies as mentioned above (Deloitte, Google, DE Shaw). Accounting, CA, CMA, Finance (Analyst) are the top most trending roles offered.
Infrastructure: All the facilities and infrastructure are upgraded and provide the best output to each and every student, be it Wi-Fi for classes, labs for experiments, or classrooms to study. Food is moderate, to be honest, because it is prepared in large bulk, but it’s more than sufficient for the need. Medical facilities are also average, there are huge numbers of people in college, so facilities are there, but it’s not up to the mark. Sports and games are very good. I like their quality of training and practice sessions so that individuals can develop their sports skills to achieve the best results.
Faculty: Quality of teachers is absolutely very good. They have deep knowledge about everything, but due to students’ rudeness, they have to compensate with their quality. Of course, the course is relevant and makes the base of the students industry-ready to be able to work higher. Pass percentage is 40 percent in each internal, and theory is minimum. Semester exams are moderate to higher and depend on students’ capability.
Other: I wanted to work in the finance department, that’s why I chose this course. I wish I could improve my semester exam results more. Events are good. Scholarships depend on semester exams percentage.

    Good infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: The placement rate of Dyal Singh is good, but for that, you have to maintain a good CGPA. There is a placement cell in Dyal Singh. Company does approach Dyal Singh for a placement offer. The average package of B.Com (Hons) lies between 3 LPA and 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: The library of the college is pretty good, and it has sufficient space for studying. The Wi-Fi of the college provides good internet speed, and the classrooms are very big and open. The canteen provides good food at a reasonable price. The events for sports are conducted regularly.
Faculty: The teachers help a lot, they make things easy to understand. The curriculum of the college is relevant. The difficulty level of exams is maintained. The curriculum makes the student ready for the industry. experience. The pass percentage of last year was 33 percent.

Q: Β  Is BCom (Hons) available at DU?
    A:

At the undergraduate level, the University of Delhi offers full-time BCom and BCom (Hons) programmes which are considered two of the most competitive courses offered by the constituent colleges of the varsity. The duration of both programmes is three years. Admission to these courses was subject to merit in Class 12 till 2021. However, starting in 2022, admission for all the  UG courses at DU is based on CUET  (conducted by NTA). The criteria for BCom (Hons) admission at DU is as follows:

    • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam
    • Have a valid score in the CUET (Common University Entrance Test)
    • The candidate must be a citizen of India
    • Candidate must have not crossed the age of 25 years
Q: Β  I have scored less than 60% marks in class 12th. What are my chances of getting admission to B.Com course at University of Delhi?
    A:

Students having less than 60% in Class 12 are also eligible for admission in BCom at DU. They must appear for the CUET UG exam and achieve a valid aggregate in the same. The cutoff trends change from year to year may vary .

Q: Β  How is the overall infrastructure of the college?
    A:
Here's my answer based on the given reviews:

    1. The college's infrastructure is considered reasonable and adequate, with some reviewers mentioning that it is neither too good nor too bad.
    2. Some reviewers praise the comfort and quality of the seats, as well as the availability of air conditioned classrooms and labs.
    3. The new classrooms are appreciated by some reviewers, who also mention that the library is fully air-conditioned and has Wi-Fi.
    4. While some reviewers find the library to be good, others express mixed opinions about its usefulness.
    5. Reviewers generally positively describe the campus size, facilities such as Wi-Fi and the canteen, as well as the presence of separate departments for different courses.
    6. Medical facilities and hostels are also available and the college hosts annual sports events and inter-college competitions.

Overall, the infrastructure of the college seems to be decent and well-maintained, with some areas standing out as particularly impressive, such as the new classrooms and the fully air-conditioned library.
Q: Β  Are DU applications out?
    A:

DU University registrations via CUET usually begins in February every year. Soon after the release of the notification, the CUET application process commences online. Candidates willing to appear for CUET exam must ensure to fill out the application form online when released. Interested candidates were able to apply online on the official website of CUET UG and CUET PG.

Students can read about CUET UG application process and CUET PG application process to understand the procedure. Followed by the application forms of CUET UG and CUET PG, DU starts the DU CSAS registration for final college and course allotment of students who qualify the exams. The process will began after the release of CUET-UG and CUET-PG results which are expected to release in July.

Q: Β  How to apply for sports quota admission in DU?
    A:

Candidates desirous of taking admission to any of the undergraduate courses offered by the University of Delhi, such as BA/BA (Hons), BSc/ BSc (Hons) and BCom/ BCom (Hons), under the supernumerary quota (ECA and/or Sports) must appear in CUET (UG) exam. For final admissions to ECA and sports supernumerary seats, however, depends on two factors. These are as follows:

    • 25% weightage is aligned to CUET scores
    • 75% weightage is aligned to certificates/ trials/ performances

Q: Β  What is the application fee for BCom (Hons) at DU?
    A:

    A. The aspirants of BCom and BCom (Hons) are required to apply for CUET UG before registering on the DU portal. After registration for the exam, students must pay the registration fee which is as follows:

    Category

    CUET Application Fee

    General

     INR 650

    OBC-NCL and EWS

    INR 600

    SC/ ST/ PwD/ Third Gender

    INR 550

    Outside India

    INR 3,000

Candidates also have to pay an additional application fee which is charged on account of DU CSAS registration after the result for CUET UG is out. It is INR 250 for General category students and INR 100 for SC/ST/PWD/EWS. In addition, there is a cancellation fee of INR 1000 for students who wish to cancel their enrolment.

Q: Β  Can I take admission for BCom at DU with 83 per cent?
    A:
For admission in Delhi University for BCom, candidates have to follow the process laid down by the University which is to register for the CUET. Delhi University accept applications for UG programmes based on CUET (Common University Entrance Test) and final admission depends on the previous Class 12 scores and the score obtained by students in CUET.
After the exam, candidates must register on CSAS portal of DU. The portal will ask about the top 10 colleges you prefer. Then the CUET scores are required to be uploaded online and the portal will show you the college that you are allotted by the university.
Now, while the process of the university has changed, the competitiveness of the colleges allocated to the students under DU have not. Hence, it can  be considered that getting into a BCom college under DU for a General category student with 83 percent will be equally tough in 2024 as it was earlier. However, students with excellent CUET scores might stand a chance.

Q: Β  Is DU admission open?
    3thumbs up
    A:

DU admission is open. Admission in Delhi University is based on CUET-UG & CUET-PG scores. Below are the upcoming events for DU admission:

    • University of Delhi (DU) has released the admission cutoff for 5-yr integrated BA LLB and BBA LLB courses through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) scores.
