DU BCom Eligibility & Highlights 2026
Delhi University BCom and BCom (H) courses of three year duration are offered in full-time mode. These are most competitive courses of the university. DU BCom admission is done based on merit in CUET exam. Students wanting to take admission must be Class 12 or equivalent exam pass from a recognised board. Some of the popular Delhi University colleges that offer these UG courses are SRCC, Hindu College, LSR, Hansraj College, Ramjas.
The valid subject combination for BCom course are:
- Combination 1: Any one language from List A along with one among Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1 OR

Delhi University BCom/ BCom (H) fee structure is cumulative of various components, such as tuition fees, caution money, etc. The total tuition fees for the UG course range from INR 540 to INR 1 lakh. This fee range is inclusive of course fees at the DU-affiliated colleges. Once final selection is done, candidates need to pay the admission fee amount. No, University of Delhi does not offer direct admission to its BCom courses. Earlier, the selection was done based on aspirants Class 12 performance. Now, the aspirants have to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). This national-level entrance test is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission in participating universities/ institutes. DU BCom Admission Dates 2026
The admission cycle starts after the release of CUET UG results in July for the BCom courses. Candidates wanting to take admission should register on time and lock their seats after the CUET result declaration. The students are advised to stay updated with CUET dates as well. DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.
However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).
For seat allocation at DU, students are required to lock their college and course preferences after the result is out. Delhi University will consider normalised scores provided by NTA to calculate the merit scores as per programme specific eligibility. The highest possible preference will be provisionally allocated to the candidates considering the following
criteria:
- Program-Specific merit
- Category of the students (UR/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ Minority)
- Availability of seats
- Any other allocation rules, policies, or criteria citied by (CSAS (UG)- 2025) or University of Delhi
CUET UG is compulsory for admission in the affiliated colleges of University of Delhi for UG courses. Delhi University introduced admissions through CUET scores in 2024 for candidates who seek admission. Candidates will not be granted admission on the basis of merit of class 12th. However, there are some specific percentage criteria needed to appear for the CUET exam for class 12th candidates which is given below:
- Students must have passed Class 12 or appeared in Class 12 from a recognized board in any stream to take admission to bachelor’s degree programmes in the central, state, private or deemed universities.
- For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50% in Class 12; for SC/ST, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% in Class 12 to be eligible for the CUET 2025. For BTch programmes, the minimum aggregate for the General category candidates is 45%, and that of the reserved category candidates is 40%.

Delhi University offers UG courses based on CUET UG exam. Based on the DU B.Com Hons. cutoff 2024, It is not possible to get into DU with 500 score as the cutoffs for all the affiliated colleges under Delhi University were comparatively above than the score of 500. Further, DU CUET UG cutoff 2024 ranged from 608 to 758 for the General AI category candidates for B.Com Hons. However, cutoffs can vary as per the courses, for some courses, it is below and for other, it is above. DU BCom Admission 2026: How to Apply?
Students need a valid CUET UG score for Delhi University BCom course admission. The admission process involves form filling, registration for DU CSAS, CSAS counselling process, merit list release and seat allocation. After the CUET result declaration, students to register on the DU UG CSAS portal. The step-by-step process for the same is mentioned below:

Step 4: DU CSAS Counselling Process
DU BCom admission is through the Common Seat Allocation System of the University of Delhi. Firstly, it is necessary that aspirants opt for Delhi University during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission.

DU registrations via CUET 2023 for UG programmes began on Feb 10, 2023 and were open till Mar 30, 2023. Additionally, for admission to PG courses, DU CUET-PG registrations for the 2023 session started on Mar 20 and were open till May 5. Interested candidates were able to apply online on the official website of CUET UG and CUET PG.
Followed by the application forms of CUET UG and CUET PG, DU has already started the DU CSAS registration for final college and course allotment of students who qualified the CUET UG exam. The process will begin soon for CUET PG qualifiers as well.
After the declaration of CUET (UG) results by NTA, the University of Delhi opened a preference-filling phase on its official website. Candidates are required to login on their CSAS (UG) dashboard to choose the courses they are willing to take admission if allocated. Candidates must give their preference for the course + college for every UG course selected by them.
For filling the preferences of course & college combinations in which they are willing to take admission, they must do the following:
- Choose multiple course + college combinations (It is in the best interest of the candidate to fill the maximum number of preferences)
- Take utmost care while selecting the course + college combinations as the order of selection will also determine the preference order.
- Reorder the preferences to prioritize the preference order of course + college combinations
- The submitted preference order will determine the allocation of seat
Candidate must confirm their order of preferences for the course + college combinations by clicking on 'Submit' cutton on/ before the last day of the preference-filling. It is important to note - Editing the course + college combination preference list after the deadline of preference-filling will not be allowed.

No, Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2027 registrations have not commenced yet. The registration window will be active at cuet.nta.nic.in. NTA will release the CUET 2027 notification in first week of January. Soon after the release of the CUET official notification, the CUET registration 2027 process will commence online at the official website. Candidates willing to appear for the CUET 2027 exam must complete the application form online. Additionally, before filling application form, candidates must make sure that they have fulfilled the prescribed CUET eligibility criteria to qualify for the entrance exam.
No, CUET application fee is similar as of previous year. The CUET registration fee is updated on release of the CUET notification. Earlier, CUET application fee was revised with the reduction on choice of subjects for CUET exam. NTA will commence CUET UG 2026 registrations at cuet.nta.nic.in. Candidates can know the revised fee, exam pattern and important dates on CUET 2026 notification PDF.
CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in May/June for 37 subjects. The mode of examination is CBT (Computer Based Test). NTA did not release official notification for CUET UG date sheet. Candidates can know exam details through CUET UG information bulletin. NTA will conduct CUET UG 2026 exam in multiple phases depending upon the number of candidates registering for the exam. The duration of both programmes is three years. Admission to these courses was subject to merit in Class 12 till 2021. However, starting in 2022, admission for all the UG courses at DU is based on CUET (conducted by NTA). The criteria for BCom (Hons) admission at DU is as follows:
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam
- Have a valid score in the CUET (Common University Entrance Test)
- The candidate must be a citizen of India
- Candidate must have not crossed the age of 25 years
Students having less than 60% in Class 12 are also eligible for admission in BCom at DU. They must appear for the CUET UG exam and achieve a valid aggregate in the same. The cutoff trends change from year to year may vary .

DU University registrations via CUET usually begins in February every year. Soon after the release of the notification, the CUET application process commences online. Candidates desirous of taking admission to any of the undergraduate courses offered by the University of Delhi, such as BA/BA (Hons), BSc/ BSc (Hons) and BCom/ BCom (Hons), under the supernumerary quota (ECA and/or Sports) must appear in CUET (UG) exam. For final admissions to ECA and sports supernumerary seats, however, depends on two factors. These are as follows:
- 25% weightage is aligned to CUET scores
- 75% weightage is aligned to certificates/ trials/ performances
A. The aspirants of BCom and BCom (Hons) are required to apply for CUET UG before registering on the DU portal. After registration for the exam, students must pay the registration fee which is as follows:

Candidates also have to pay an additional application fee which is charged on account of DU CSAS registration after the result for CUET UG is out. It is INR 250 for General category students and INR 100 for SC/ST/PWD/EWS. In addition, there is a cancellation fee of INR 1000 for students who wish to cancel their enrolment.
