B.Tech. in Production and Industrial Engineering - Batch of 2028
4.2

I am decently satisfied with the campus life.
Placements: 80% of students in Production and Industrial Engineering are placed during the 2024 placement season. The average package during placements is around 20 to 25 LPA. Students are placed in both core and non-core job roles, such as consultancy, finance, product management, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available on the campus are quite good. We have Wi-Fi all over the buildings. Almost every classroom and lab has A.C. The facilities provided to us in the hostels are also good. The mess food is decent, and we also have pretty good sports equipment.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach us pretty well. The course curriculum also seems relevant to the industry. Semester exams are quite hectic, considering we have quizzes/exams every month during the semester. But, these exams are quite manageable.

B.Tech. in Textile Technology - Batch of 2028
4.8
4Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
The college has strong industry exposure, great labs, and vibrant campus life.
Placements: In my course (B.Tech Textile Technology, IIT Delhi), around 80-85% of students get placed every year. The highest package in recent batches was around 35-40 LPA, the lowest around 6-7 LPA, and the average is in the range of 10-12 LPA. Top recruiters include Arvind Mills, Trident Group, Vardhman Textile, Reliance Industries, Welspun, Decathlon, and global consulting firms like BCG and Deloitte that hire across branches. Many students also get internships in top textile and apparel companies, research labs, and startups. Common roles include production manager, R&D engineer, quality control specialist, supply chain analyst, and management trainee.
Infrastructure: The Textile Technology Department is one of the best-equipped in the country, with modern labs like spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing & finishing, garment technology, and textile testing labs. The classrooms are well-maintained and have projectors and internet access. The IIT Delhi library has a vast collection of textile-related books and journals. The hostels are comfortable, with 24/7 Wi-Fi, clean drinking water, common rooms with TVs, and indoor games. The mess food is decent and hygienic, and canteens offer snacks and full meals throughout the day. The campus also has excellent sports facilities, a gym, and a hospital for medical needs.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly knowledgeable, with many holding PhDs from top universities in India and abroad. They are approachable and supportive, especially for students interested in research or projects. The curriculum is a good mix of theory, lab work, and industry exposure, making it relevant for both core textile careers and interdisciplinary fields. Semester exams are moderately challenging, but consistent study is enough to score well, and the pass percentage is generally above 30%.

Absolutely dissatisfied.
Placements: Placement Percentage: 85% of students were placed. Salary Packages: Highest: 35 LPA Lowest: 6 LPA Average: 12 LPA Top Recruiting Companies: Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, Bosch, Maruti Suzuki, and Mahindra. Internship Stats: 70% secured internships in companies like ISRO, BHEL, DRDO, and Tata Motors. Top Roles Offered: Operations Manager, Supply Chain Analyst, Quality Engineer, and Manufacturing Consultant. Negative Aspects of Production and Industrial at IIT Delhi (fictional): Limited focus on modern technologies, outdated curriculum in parts, and fewer research opportunities compared to CS or ECE. Students often find the coursework theoretical with less industry-aligned practical exposure.
Infrastructure: Facilities and Infrastructure for the Course/Department: Wi-Fi: High-speed campus-wide Wi-Fi access, including in classrooms and labs. Labs: Well-equipped labs with modern machinery for manufacturing, CAD/CAM, automation, and quality control. Classrooms: Smart classrooms with projectors, air-conditioning, and ergonomic seating. Library: A central library with a vast collection of course materials, research papers, and digital resources. Hostel and Campus Facilities: Hostel Quality: Decent rooms with good ventilation, regular cleaning, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Mess and Canteen: Mess food is average with a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, though repetitive. Canteens offer better variety and taste but at a higher cost. Medical Facilities: A 24/7 health center with doctors on call, a pharmacy, and ambulance services. Sports and Games: State-of-the-art sports complexes for indoor and outdoor games, including cricket, football, badminton, gymnasium, and swimming pool.
Faculty: Teaching Quality: While the teachers are qualified and knowledgeable, many fail to engage students effectively. Some rely on outdated teaching methods, making lectures monotonous and theoretical, with limited practical insights. Course Curriculum: The curriculum lacks updates to align with industry demands, focusing heavily on traditional topics. Emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and sustainability are either missing or poorly integrated, leaving students underprepared for modern industrial roles. Semester Exams: Exams are moderately difficult, but the focus is more on rote learning than critical thinking or problem-solving. This approach often frustrates students who aim for industry-relevant skills. The pass percentage hovers around 85%, with many barely scraping through due to poorly designed assessments.
Other: That was the best course I was getting. I am trying to change course. Initially, events were good. The fest was boring, tbh. Regarding campus crowd, you will find many people of different types. Just choose the correct peer group. Campus surroundings (air is polluted). Scholarship is only for those with income less than 5 Lacs. Extracurricular activities are only for CV. If you are not good, you won't be selected.

Review of Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: In Engineering Physics, students enjoy strong placement and job opportunities, while some choose to pursue higher studies or start their ventures. The average package range between 40 LPA and 70 LPA. Around 75% of students secure internships. Additionally, teachers provide various academic activities to support students. Overall growth.
Infrastructure: It boasts modern infrastructure with supplementary resources. The library contains a diverse collection of books, novels, and journals. The canteen is spacious, offering a variety of food items in a comfortable setting. A large number of students reside in the hostel, which is well-managed. The food provided is also satisfactory and meets basic quality standards.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly and explain topics using simple, relatable examples. Exams are relatively easy, focusing on clarity of concepts. The semester assessments are based on a high school (grades 11-12) syllabus and are not overly challenging. So, overall, the faculty members are good and approachable.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2028
4.4
5Placements4Infrastructure3Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Challenges and growth at IIT Delhi.
Placements: Around 84% of the students from my batch were placed. Highest package went up to 20 LPA, lowest was around 6 LPA, and average was close to 10-12 LPA for civil. Top recruiters included L&T, Tata Projects, Shapoorji Pallonji, NTPC, and ONGC. Internships were secured by nearly 90% of students, with companies like DMRC, Larsen & Toubro, and some international research internships through DAAD and MITACS. Roles offered were mostly core, like site engineer, project engineer, structural analyst, and a few managerial or consulting roles as well.
Infrastructure: Civil Engineering Department has well-equipped labs like structural, Geotech, and environment labs, modern classrooms with projectors, and 24/7 Wi-Fi. Library is massive with a great collection. Hostels are decent, Wi-Fi-enabled, and cleaned regularly. Mess food is average, sometimes good, and canteens offer variety. There's a 24/7 medical center, and sports facilities include cricket, football, tennis, and a well-maintained gym.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified, most have PhDs, and are active in research. They're helpful if you approach them, especially during office hours. Teaching quality is good, but depends on the proof. Curriculum is solid, with core and elective subjects, but leans more academic than industry-focused. Some practical exposure exists through labs and minor projects. Semester exams can be tough, especially if you're not regular with lectures. Grading is relatively, so you pass if you're consistent. Pass percentage is generally high, around 90%, but getting a high CG is difficult.
Other: I chose civil engineering because I was interested in infrastructure and wanted to study at IIT Delhi. The best part is the exposure to structural design and hands-on labs. I wish there were more industry-like projects and internships. The campus is lively, with amazing fests like Rendezvous and Tryst. The crowd is diverse and talented. Metro connectivity is excellent, and the campus is green and peaceful. Extracurricular activities range from drama to robotics. Scholarships are available based on merit and need. Overall, it's a balanced environment for academics and personal growth.

B.Tech. in Textile Technology - Batch of 2026
2.8
3Placements2Infrastructure2Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
IIT Delhi: The average college in India.
Placements: IIT Delhi has a strong placement record for Textile Engineering students. About 80% of students secure jobs through campus placements. The placement cell works with top recruiters to provide students with valuable preparation resources and support.
Infrastructure: IIT Delhi's hostel infrastructure is in dire need of an upgrade. Many of the hostels are over 60 years old, and have seen minimal renovation or upgrades in recent years. A modern update would greatly improve the overall living experience. The IITD hospital also has its limitations, with a shortage of well-qualified doctors and outdated facilities. This can make it challenging for students to receive quality medical care on campus. On a positive note, the library stands out as a valuable resource, offering a well-organized, quiet space for study, with a wide range of academic resources and materials that effectively support the academic needs of students.
Faculty: IIT Delhi's Textile Engineering department has highly qualified, knowledgeable, and committed professors. They make complex topics understandable and help students develop technical skills and analytical thinking. However, the administration, including certain deans and the academic body, can be difficult to deal with. Their strict policies and rigid grading practices can be stressful and affect students' CGPA outcome. Students may feel that there is less flexibility and support for their well-being and academic growth.
