As per the CUET UG website, students seeking admission to BA at Jamia Millia must appear for and qualify CUET exam. However, since some universities are also considering other components while giving admission to CUET-UG based courses, it could be a possibility of getting into JMI without CUET. But, this being said there is no official information on whether the university will only consider CUET UG scores or other components as well for admission, it is tough to give the right answer. Students are therefore advised to reach out to the admission office for more details. 

Candidates seeking admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA must have passed Class 12 or SSC with a minimum aggregate ranging from 40-50%. The passing percentage is different for different specialisations offered in the BA programme. Admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA and BA (Hons) is subject to either CUET (conducted by NTA) or JMI entrance exam. Till 2021, admission was subject to the JMI entrance exam across all specialisations. However, starting 2022, admission to a few BA (Hons) specialisations is CUET-based and for the rest, it is university-level entrance-based. Interested candidates can apply online for all courses on the official website of JMI or CUET.

The full form of CUET is Central University Entrance Test which is an all-India level entrance exam conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate courses offered in various participating colleges. After the students receive their CUET scores, the university will start calling students for counselling rounds, and then other admission and selection-related processes will take place. Jamia Millia Islamia offers seat reservations in almost all the courses based on the category of the students. Candidates seeking admission under the reserved category can apply for reservation under one category only and are required to fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions of the course. More details regarding JMI reservation criteria are enlisted below:

• 30% of the total number of seats in each course are reserved for Muslim applicants. 10% of the total number of seats in each course are reserved for women applicants
  who are Muslims and 10% of the total number of seats in each course shall be earmarked for (OBCs) and ST students who are Muslims.
• 5% of seats in all the courses are reserved for physically challenged students.
• 5% of seats in all courses must be filled by internal students of Jamia who have passed their qualifying exam from Jamia schools as regular students.
