The course-wise placement details for the Class of 2025 are yet to be released on the official website of IIT Kharagpur. As per the media reports, over 400 recruiters visited the IIT Kharagpur campus for 2025 placements and offered over 1,800 job offers, including 409 PPOs and 25 international offers to the students. To answer the second question of whether IIT Kharagpur BTech fee is expensive or not, the fee for all IITs is almost similar to each other. However, it is comparatively less than top private BTech colleges such as BITS where the BTech tuition fee goes up till INR 19 lakh. 

IIT Kharagpur cutoff 2025 was released for admission to BTech(Hons), BSc courses and their specialisations, as well as for the BArch course for all rounds and categories under the All India quota.

The last round cutoff in 2025 ranged from 466 to 19141 for the General AI category students, wherein BTech (Hons) Computer Science and Engineering was the toughest branch to get admission to. On the other hand, the easiest course for admission was the Bachelor of Architecture.

The cut off rank in Round 6 for B.Tech. (Hons.) in Computer Science and Engineering is 279 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. IIT Kharagpur offers BTech and Integrated BTech courses based on JEE Advanced scores. Based on candidates' scores, the institute released the IIT Kharagpur cutoff 2024 for various categories belonging to the All India quota. As per the data fetched from multiple media reports, the IIT Kharagpur highest package offered so far during 2025 placements was above INR 2.14 crore per annum. IIT Kharagpur offers a joint MTech/ MCP PhD programme to students who have completed their UG degree in the relevant stream. Under this programme, at the end of the first year, interested students with a CGPA of 8.0 and above are eligible to appear for a written test and/or interview to check their suitability to enrol for PhD. Those who do not qualify for PhD can continue with their two-year MTech/MCP programme. Students selected for PhD will have to complete the two-year academic requirements of MTech/ MCP programme before enrolment for PhD. For these students, the MTech/MCP and PhD degrees will be awarded together upon successful completion of PhD. The programme is open to students of all categories with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ MSc or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE, etc.) with a valid GATE score.
