IIT JAM 2026 Answer Keys

IIT Bombay will soon release the final answer key for IIT JAM 2026 online. Candidates can check IIT JAM answer key pdf for the correct keys. A separate answer key will be available for each test paper. The provisional answer key was released on February 24. Candidates could challenge the key by February 27, 2026.

IIT JAM 2026 Cutoff

The authority will release the IIT JAM cutoff 2026 along with the exam result. IIT JAM cutoff marks is minimum marks required to pass the test. How to Download the IIT JAM Admit Card 2026

To download the IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card students should follow these steps:
Visit the website of IIT JAM.
Go to the JOAPS portal 2026.
A login window will be displayed on the screen.
Enter your enrolment ID and password.
Click on the "Submit" button.

IIT JAM 2026 Application Form

IIT JAM 2026 application correction window closed and was being conducted from October 31, 2025, to November 13, 2025. The IIT JAM 2026 application process was conducted from September 5 to October 20, 2025. The application fee could be paid by October 25, 2025.

The process was completely online, right from the registration process to depositing the online fee for the examination. Candidates had to first visit the official website of the exam to complete the application process and pay the application fee in online mode (already closed).

What To Do Next After IIT JAM Application Correction

After the Completion of the application correction window, candidates should check IIT Jam website and wait for future announcements.
IIT JAM 2026 was conducted on February 15, 2026. So, you must prepare well for the exam and score high marks.

Register at JOAPS

Students have to register themselves at JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) by filling in and submitting details such as name, email address, mobile number, and password.

Once students registered for exam successfully, they were sent an email and SMS containing their enrollment ID. You need to save the enrollment ID and thereafter proceed towards filling the application form of IIT JAM 2026.

After payment is made a dialogue box will appear to confirm that the application form has been received successfully. Students need to complete all the steps to successfully submit their IIT JAM 2026 application form.

IIT JAM 2026 Pattern, Syllabus and Mock Test

IIT JAM 2026 exam pattern is available now. This is a computer based test of 3 hours duration, conducted in two slots. The total number of questions is 60, and the total marks are 100. There are three types of questions, which are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT). IIT JAM 2026 Examination Centres

The JAM 2026 entrance exam was conducted on February 15, 2026 across cities that are divided into eight zones. There can be more than one IIT JAM exam centre in one city. The exact IIT JAM exam centre details were mentioned on the admit cards issued to candidates. Last year, the exam authorities announced two more exam cities, Port Blair and Haldwani.

Candidates need to select up to three exam cities in order of preference at the time of filling out the IIT JAM application form. However, it may be noted that the first two exam cities should be from the same zone. Candidates may select the third exam city anywhere within India. The zone-wise list of IIT JAM exam centres 2026 will be released by IIT Bombay along with the exam notification.

IIT JAM 2026 Counselling

IIT JAM 2026 online application process for counselling will start in April, 2026 onwards. Test takers who have qualified for the JAM 2026 examination will be eligible to sit in the JAM 2026 admission counselling process. The last date for filling out the JAM 2026 counselling application form was April 11, 2026.

Selection of the candidates is done as per the merit secured in IIT JAM 2026. Four rounds of admissions are planned but the number of rounds of admission or counselling rounds may increase in case seats remain vacant. IIT JAM 2026 counselling is being conducted as a Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for all the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

CCMN Counselling Through IIT JAM Scores

IIT JAM 2026 Scorecard is also helpful for the candidates who wish to take admissions in the MSc and MSc (Tech) courses offered at NITs, IIEST Shibpur, and some CFTI institutes through the CCMN process 2026. (Centralized Common Counselling).

The organising institute will notify the CCMN 2026 counselling schedule dates in the third week of May 2026, tentatively on the official website. The CCMN application form 2026 will be released in the fourth week of May 2026, tentatively on the CCMN official web portal. CCMN Merit List 2026 for seat allotment will be prepared based on the ″Common Percentile″ obtained by the candidate. The CCMN 2026 counselling is for full-time seats carrying scholarships. It is NOT for candidates seeking admission to Sponsored Seats or part-time programmes.

IIT JAM 2026 Seat Intake

There are around 3000 seats in postgraduate programmes at 21 IITs for the academic year 2026-27. JAM 2026 Scores will be used to admit the candidates, subject to satisfying the ERs and MEQs and any other requirements, without any additional interview or written test. Result Sharing Institutes: JAM scores will be used for admission to over 2300 seats for postgraduate programmes such as MSc and MA at IISc and various NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT through Centralised Counselling for MSc / MSc (Tech.) Admission (CCMN).

Q: What type of question does Section C of IIT JAM exam has?

There are a total of 60 questions carrying a total of 100 marks.

Section - C has a total 20 Numerical Answer Type questions, involving 10 questions of one mark each and 10 questions of two marks each. For NAT questions.

Q: Are their any scribes arranged by the examination authority for IIT JAM 2026 examination?

Scribes were arranged for those PwD candidates who had requested to be provided with a scribe at the time of application.
Qualification of the scribe arranged by test centre will NOT be more than the minimum eligibility criteria of JAM 2026. However, the qualification of the scribe is be matriculation (10th) or above. If there are Y candidates who require a scribe, it will be ensured that a panel of (Y+1) scribes is available at the exam centre so that every candidate can have an alternative scribe to choose for the services.

Q: My photograph and signature are not clear on the IIT JAM admit card. What should I do?

While uploading files candidates must ensure that they do so in suggested resolution. In case PDF file or printout does not display a clear photograph or signature candidates need to PDF resolution again and check for clarity. If it is still not clear enough, then they have to approach exam authorities and seek solutions.

Q: Is there any specific dress code guidelines for IIT JAM exam?

IIT JAM 2026 entrance exam does not require students to stick to a specific dress code. You can typically wear casual outfits. However by wearing a formal apparel can benefit in having a decent and presentable look (e.g., wearing a shirt and trouser).

Some institutions may have specific guidelines (e.g., wear shirts or t-shirts, jeans or trousers etc).
