SEED exam 2022 will be held in online mode on February 13. Here some SEED exam day instructions one needs to know before appearing for the exam.

SEED 2022 exam day requirements
Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) will be conducting SEED 2022 in online mode. The admit cards have been released. Candidates can download the admit cards from www.sid.edu.in/, as this is a mandatory document that a registered student must produce at the time of SEED exam. Aspirants are informed that the admit card would be issued to only those candidates who have duly filled and submitted their application form for Symbiosis Institute of Design admissions. The mock test of SEED 2022 will be conducted online on February 6. On the day of examination, candidates have to keep some things in mind.

SEED 2022 Exam Day: Requirements

  • SEED 2022 is going to be an online exam.
  • Candidates need to download the admit card 
  • For this examination, you have to reach at least two hour before the exam time at the centre.
  • Carry a hard copy of the admit card and a photo id proof with you.
  • Though the exam will be online, candidates should carry the pen and pencil for the rough work.
  • No electronic items, mobile, calculators etc are allowed in the exam hall.
  • Correct answer gets one mark while there is no negative marking for the incorrect answer.

Candidates should keep in mind the important points mentioned below:

  • Candidates must follow the instructions strictly set by the university.
  • Do not take help from others
  • Appear for the mock test on February 6 to get an idea about the exam pattern.
  • Do not carry any electronic devices
  • Invigilators will instruct the guidelines about how to give the exam.
  • Do not read out anything loudly
  • Ensure you have the hard copy of admit card and a valid photo id proof. 
  • Do not leave the centre before the exam is over.

SEED Exam 2022: Exam Pattern

The design aptitude test will be conducted to test the knowledge an aspirant possess in spheres such as colour, geometry, creative thinking abilities, visual observations, general design awareness as well as awareness of Indian culture, craft and traditions etc.

Marking Scheme

  • 1 mark is awarded for every correct attempt

  • No negative marking for the incorrect response

SEED Syllabus and Important Topics

Aspirants can go through indicative topics from which questions might be asked in SEED. 

Visualisation: Understanding and visualisation of simple and complex 2D & 3D geometric shapes, their manipulations and spatial relationships through representations in pictorial and geometric forms.

Observational, perceptual and reasoning abilities: Ability to read and see objects and information beyond obvious details, make connections, make comparisons, form opinions, draw meanings & conclusions. Analyze your observations, express your point of view and present in a systematic and structured manner.

Creative and problem-solving abilities: Ability to visualise and relate images around us. Ability to identify a problem and attempt to provide solutions.

Application of basic knowledge of Science and Mathematics: Observing the application of basic principles of science and mathematics taught up to standard 10th in the day-to-day activities & objects and finding interesting relevance.

Art, craft, culture, design and environment: General awareness of Art, Craft, Culture, Design and Environment in Indian as well as in Global context. Various topics and sub-topics related to people, material, tools, techniques, issues & concerns, influences, period, and contemporary trends.

SEED 2026 written exam will be 60 minutes. The question paper will include 60 questions. Question paper will have MCQ, Match the Columns, Fill in the blanks, image-based and comprehension-based questions.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) does not have any provisions for direct admission to the second year. So, candidates have to compulsory take admission in the first year of the B.Des program. Note that admission to the B.Des is only through the SEED 2026 exam.

Yes, a portfolio is required to get admission to SEED B.Des and M.Des programmes. You are required to present a digital portfolio that should contain all of your best work. Portfolio should be in the form of a PDF.
