Q: When will the UCEED 2026 application form open?

UCEED 2026 Application is expected to open by October 01, 2025, on the official website. The last date to apply with regular fees will be in the second week of November 2025. Candidates who met the prescribed eligibility criteria were able to apply for admission.

Q: When will the UCEED 2026 exam be conducted?

IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2026 exam on January 18, 2026 (9 am - 12 noon). IIT Bombay will release the detailed admission schedule, including exam dates and the application process. The exam is expected to be conducted in 27 cities across India. Part A will be offline-based, while Part B will be conducted offline. The application process commences in October, generally.

Consult the exam pattern and get isights. Also, refer to the exam syllabus. Another point to note is the difficulty level of the exam. Start your preparation without any delay. Take notes during study. Solve sample papers and take mock tests.

Q: What key points do candidates need to remember about UCEED 2026 Part B of question paper?

The candidate needs to remember the following points about the Part B question paper of UCEED 2026: Part B will include around TWO questions. The question for the section will be shown on the computer monitor. The candidate, after reading the question, has to write/ draw the answer option in the answer booklet provided by the invigilator. Part B test will evaluate the drawing ability and Design Aptitude of the candidate. Part B is mandatory and will only be evaluated if the candidate qualifies for Part A. The cut-off marks for Part A will be declared by IIT Bombay before the declaration of results.

Q: What types of questions will be asked in Section 2 of UCEED 2026 question paper?

The UCEED 2026 question paper for Part A will include three sections. It will include 28 Multiple Select Questions (MSQs). Each MSQ may have one or more than one correct choice (s) out of the four given. The following marking scheme will be followed for MSQ-type questions: Full Marks: + 4 If only (all) the correct option (s) is (are) chosen and None of the incorrect options is chosen. Partial Marks: + 3 If all four options are correct but ONLY three options are chosen, and None of the incorrect options is chosen. Partial Marks: + 2 If three or more options are correct but ONLY two options are chosen, both of which are correct and None of the incorrect options is chosen. Partial Marks: + 1 If two or more options are correct but ONLY one option is chosen and it is a correct option and None of the incorrect options is chosen. Zero Marks: 0 If None of the options is chosen (i.e., the question is unanswered). Negative Marks: -1 In all other cases.

Q: What happens if a candidate impersonates another candidate in UCEED exam?

Impersonation in the UCEED exam is not allowed. Any candidate who is found indulging in such activities will be disqualified. Further, criminal proceedings may also be brought against such candidates. So it is advised that candidates follow the guidelines issued by IIT Bombay for appearing in the exam. Note that in addition to impersonation, activities like cheating, disturbing other candidates during the exam, etc. They are also not allowed.

Q: Will exam officials provide stationery to candidates in the UCEED exam centre?

Exam officials will not make any arrangements for stationery items for appearing in the exam. So, it is the sole responsibility of the candidate to bring the necessary stationery. Here are the basic stationery items one needs to take the UCEED exam: pens, pencils, sketch pens and colours for the examination. The candidate, however, mustn't bring any drawing sheets with them to the exam hall. It is recommended that the candidate carefully go through the list of allowed and barred items before arriving at the UCEED exam centre.

Q: Can I come out of the UCEED exam centre before the final bell rings?

As per instructions given on the admission portal, the candidate is not allowed to leave the exam hall until the exam is over. So, if you are planning to leave the exam hall even before the exam is over, you need to junk them now. Once the exam is over, the invigilator will collect the answer sheets and complete any other formalities that may be there. Once the process is over, the candidate can come out of the exam hall.

UCEED Admit Card 2026 - IIT Bombay will release admit cards for the UCEED 2026 exam on January 02, 2026. The admit card has to be downloaded through the candidate portal. Log in to the portal using your email ID and password to download the admit card. Hard copies of the admit card will not be sent to the candidate.

Any changes in the admit card will be permitted till January 08, 2026. The UCEED 2026 exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026 between 9 am - 12 noon.

On exam day, you must bring a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card. The admit card will contain details like the roll number, name, and address of the UCEED 2026 exam center, exam date and timings, and exam center reporting time. UCEED 2026 Exam-day Guidelines

IIT Bombay notified candidates about the dos and don'ts to be followed at the exam venue through the admit card.

Particulars	Instructions
Identity Verification	The candidate's identity will be verified by invigilators as well as IIT representatives. If the identity of a candidate is in doubt, then he or she may not be allowed to appear for the examination. In some cases, exam officials may permit the candidate to appear in the exam after completing certain formalities. However, no extra time will be allowed to complete the examination to compensate for the time taken to complete these formalities. Further, the candidature of such candidates will be subject to the decision of the UCI Committee, which will be final and binding.
Impersonation/ Use of Unfair Means	These types of actions will be considered serious offenses and lead to disqualification. Further, criminal proceedings may also be brought against those indulging in these activities.
Reporting Time	Candidates need to report to their UCEED exam center at 7 AM. The admit card and a Valid, Original Photo Identity Proof would be required for recording biometric information (thumb impression and photograph) before appearing for the examination.
Exiting the exam hall	The candidate has to remain in the examination hall for the entire duration of the examination.
Blank sheets	Aspirants will be given blank sheets for rough work. These sheets need to be handed over to the Invigilator after the UCEED Part A exam is over.
Stationery	The candidate must bring their own drawing material like pens, pencils, sketch pens, and colors for the examination. However, drawing sheets are not allowed inside the examination hall.
Items NOT Permitted	The candidate is NOT allowed to carry any electronic devices (mobile phones, smartphones, watches of any type, calculators, tablets, and the like), abacus, slide rule, log books, study material of any type, geometry box, and so on to the examination hall. Exam officials will also put up a list of forbidden items on the website before the exam if there are additional items.
