As per the KCET dates, currently the round 3 counselling is ongoing and as part of the counselling process the option entry window is open. The KCET Web Options Entry is an important stage of the KCET counselling process. All the candidates who qualified in the KCET exam must take part in the web based option entry. During KCET web options entry, candidates who were deemed qualified as per the KCET results can select and prioritise their combinations of colleges and courses from KEA official website. 1. Authentication and Login

• Visit official KEA portal at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.

• On the homepage, click on UGCET/KCET Option Entry Link under candidate activity section.

• Authenticate session using KCET Application Number and unique Option Entry Seat Number found on your official verification slip.

• Scan QR Code provided on verification slip or complete manual text fallback prompts. 

• Enter Captcha, choose preferred communication channel, and submit One-Time Password (OTP) sent to registered mobile number.

• Complete Facial Verification prompt by clicking "Start Camera", positioning face, and choosing "Capture Photo".

2. Password Generation and Form Access

• Upon login, which will help you create a strong, customized password.

• Keep the login credentials safe; as it will be required during the mock allotments, and to modify choices, download seat allotment letters etc.

3. Submitting Choice Numbers

• Once the dashboard is open, you will view a comprehensive matrix categorized by college codes, course streams, and real-time seat availability.

• The layout operates on a linear priority ranking system. Instead of dragging and dropping, candidates must manually type an integer next to your chosen combinations (e.g., enter 1 for your absolute top choice, 2 for your second preference, and so on).

• Click the Save and Submit button frequently. The portal will log out due to inactivity, and unsaved numeric preferences will be completely lost.

Maximize Combinations

There is no upper limit to number of options. Enter every single college and course combination you are genuinely willing to join, ordered from highest preference to lowest. Even if college shows zero current vacancies in seat matrix, always list it if it is your priority, as seats frequently open up during dynamic shifts in higher rounds.

The Golden Rule of Priority Order

The automated KEA seat allocation algorithm reads your list from option 1 downward. It will permanently award you the very first option on your list that matches your merit rank.

• Correct Strategy: Put your dream, high-cutoff colleges at the top (1 to 10), even if your rank makes them a long shot. Follow up with realistic colleges, and place guaranteed safety options at the bottom.

• Dangerous Mistake: Never place a less desirable college higher on your list just because you think your rank guarantees entry. If the system grants you that option, all preferred colleges lower down on your list are instantly deleted from your profile.

Document Verification - Web Option Entry - Mock Seat Allotment - Option Modification - Final Seat Allotment

1. What is Document Verification - You must successfully clear document verification to receive the key credentials needed to unlock the portal.

2. First-Option Entry - Candidates input their baseline list of prospective college and course preferences.

3. Mock Allotment - The KEA runs a test simulation based on everyone's initial entries. This result is not final but serves as a trial to show you what college you are on track to get based on current trends.

4. Option Modification - After checking your mock result, the KEA opens a brief window allowing you to freely add, delete, alter, or reorder your options to optimize your chances. 5. Actual Allotment & Choices - The actual seat allotment results are published. Candidates must then select their post-allotment choice (e.g., accepting the seat, holding the seat while upgrading in the next round, or rejecting and moving to the next round).

Round 3 (Final Round) Guidelines

During Round 3, the web options entry interface operates under distinct, strict structural rules: 

• If you received no seat allotment in previous rounds, you must explicitly log into the portal and select the dynamic consent form. Failing to provide this digital consent will automatically exclude you from the round.

• If you are participating without a prior seat, you are not permitted to add pre-existing colleges that were already available in Rounds 1 and 2. However, you are granted full permission to rearrange your existing list, delete unwanted choices, and add brand-new seats or newly added colleges that entered the matrix for the first time.

• Round 3 acts as the final phase. If the system allocates you a seat in this round, it is legally binding. You cannot modify your choices or surrender the seat without severe penalties, and you must report directly to the allotted college.
