Understand the concepts in the initial phase of the preparation process and revise these concepts in the last week to crack competitive exams like SRMJEEE.
SRMJEEE stands for Sri Ramaswamy Memorial Joint Engineering Entrance Exam. SRM Institute of Science and Technology is one of the famous deemed University in Chennai, India. SRMJEEE is conducted by the SRM Institute of Science and Technology once a year for admissions into various engineering programmes. Most of the candidates start their preparation while they are in the intermediate first year.
Tips for last week
The foremost thing one should keep in mind is that the last days of the preparation are important. When I was in my intermediate second year, I considered the last days as crucial. One week before the scheduled examination, I spent the entire last week in revision and also, I did not start any new topic. Moreover, I started my preparation from the intermediate first year. The students appearing for SRMJEEE must prepare for the exam without any distraction. During the last week of preparation, avoid things like stress, anxiety, fear, etc.

During the last days before the exam, one should focus on revising each topic in brief. Give extra time to high-weightage topics as compared to other topics. Also, students must focus on covering all the topics during revision. One day before the exam, spend two hours to learn and write all the important formulae again and revise them thoroughly. Also, read the instructions in the admit card carefully and ensure to carry all the things like admit card, pen, passport size photo, etc. In my opinion, there is nothing to fear in the last week's preparation, instead, work on boosting the confidence level with a focussed mind to be ready for the exam.
Manage time wisely
We all know that time management plays a major role in any competitive examinations like SRMJEEE. The students should focus on tactical preparation to ensure that the syllabus is completed on time. To manage time in a better way, one should write at least one mock test daily and complete the same in the prescribed time. Set the time according to real examination and write mock tests. While writing the exam, check the paper once and answer the questions that you feel are easy, and then attempt easy to moderate level questions and in the end spend time on the difficult ones. This would help in saving time during the exam. Identifying easy questions and managing time is also an art that could only be attained by continuous practice.
Scoring topics
During the last week of preparation, one must focus on the scoring topics. Though we have revised all the concepts many times, however, it is quite difficult for everyone to revise every topic in the last week. Hence, the students should keep their focus only on scoring topics. Solve at least six to ten years of previous papers regularly. The SRMJEEE would be similar to JEE Main, therefore, refer to JEE Main important concepts. For fundamentals, refer to NCERT textbooks summary.
Revision plan
The revision approach and study plan are crucial for success in competitive exams. Revision approach should include revising the concepts and formulae. Therefore, I suggest that it is better to understand and revise the subject rather than reading it multiple times
