GAT B (GAT-B/BET) MSc Biotechnology Application Form 2026: Check Date, Fees & How to Apply

Candidates who want to apply for GAT-B 2026 must check their eligibility first. The criteria comprise their nationality, educational qualifications, minimum qualifying marks, etc. Read below to know more -

• Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology/Life Sciences or related disciplines from a recognised university or institute. 
• Candidates from reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) or PwD must secure a minimum qualifying mark 50% in their bachelor's programme. On the other hand, minimum qualifying mark for general category applicants is 60%. 
• Final-year students can also apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test- Biotechnology. 
• The nationality of the applicants must be Indian.

Candidates who do not meet the above criteria will be not be eligible to apply for GAT-B exam 2026.

GAT-B regstration is over. the NTA is responsible for conducting GAT-B admission process. The GAT-B exam dates have been announced. The GAT-B application process can be checked below. Candidates must note that GAT-B 2026 registration is mandatory to appear for the exam. 

How to fill GAT-B application form

The registration process for GAT-B exam is done online on the official website. The steps to apply can be checked below:

• Go to official website of GAT-B 2026
• Click on "New Candidate" Registration
• Enter personal and educational qualification details. Once the registration is complete, candidates will receive login credentials
• Login and fill rest of the details
• Upload the required documents (according to specifications)
• Pay the application fee and submit GAT-B exam application form
• Download and take a printout of the application form and keep it safe till the admission process

Candidates who want to apply for both exam, must fill one application form only.

Candidate Registration

It must be noted that GAT-B 2026 registration is mandatory. First, students have to register to generate login credentials. The following details are required for candidate's registration:

Submission of the GAT-B application form

Once the form is completed, candidates have to download the "confirmation page" from the dashboard. Keep multiple copies for future reference. 

For BET admissions 2026, the NTA will release a separate schedule and notification. However, the application form process and document specifications remain the same.

Candidates filling GAT-B application form must keep following documents ready -

• Valid Government ID proof.  
• Date of birth certificate (as mentioned in Class X Board Certificate).  
• Govt. Identity Details like Aadhar Number (last 4 digits)/Election Card (EPIC No.)/Passport number/Ration Card Number/Bank Account Number/PAN Number/Other valid Govt. IDs  
• Educational Qualification details.  
• Actual category viz General (UR) / EWS / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC /ST correctly mentioned in the relevant column.   
• Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background.  
• Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format.  
• Scanned copy of Certificate for Appearing/Result Awaiting Candidates.   
• Four (04) Cities of your Choice.  
• Bank account details for payment of fee.  
• Valid E-mail ID
• Mobile number (which is active)

Candidates are advised to upload documents according to guidelines mentioned by authorities. 

The NTA is responsible for releasing GAT-B application form. Before filling form, students must keep in mind that they meet eligibility for the exam. Along with that, all information added in the application form are correct, as it wil be cross-checked during counselling.

• Ensure that browser is updated. Clear cache before filling GAT-B 2026 application form.

Once registration process for GAT-B 2026 is complete, the authorities activates GAT-B 2026 application form correction window. The dates for form correction can be checked on this page. During correction facility, students who have submitted their application form will be able to make changes/edits in their form. GAT-B correction facility 2026 remains active for a limited period of time.

To make changes in registration form, students need to follow the process mentioned below -

• Go to official website
• Log in using application number and password
• Select particulars (from the list that you want to make changes)
• Submit and pay fee 
• Keep revised application form data for future reference. 

Candidates must note that correction window is a one-time facility provided by authorities. Therefore, ensure that you make changes correctly.

Exam centres

Candidates were allowed to change examination cities within the same state. Other than that, students can also change their date of birth, gender, category, and sub-category/PwBD. After submission of correction, candidates are advised to go through GAT-B exam pattern and start preparing for exam.
