Overview

JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 exam: NTA has released JEE Mains Paper 2 results at jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Mains paper 2 is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate Architecture (BArch) and Planning (BPlanning) programs at NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).

  • Paper 2A (BArch): Focuses on Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Drawing. It features 77 questions for a total of 400 marks. While Mathematics and Aptitude are online (CBT), the Drawing test is conducted offline with pen and paper.
  • Paper 2B (BPlanning): This paper also focuses on the same subjects as Paper 2A, just the drawing section is replaced with Planning-based questions. It consists of 100 questions (all CBT) for 400 marks.

The JEE Main 2026 Registration Paper 2 is now over for session 1. The JEE Main application form 2026 paper 2 was available online on the JEE Main official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Instructions to fill JEE Main Application Form 2026

Registration: Candidates have to fill JEE Mains 2026 registration form by providing basic details like name, mobile number, email ID etc.

Filling Application Form: In this step, candidates have to fill detailed JEE Mains 2026 application form by providing details of parents, education, paper for which appearing, exam centre, category etc.

Uploading Documents: Candidates have to upload scanned images of passport size colour photograph and signature. Candidates of reserved categories also need to upload category certificates.

Payment of Application Fee: After documents uploaded, candidates have to pay application fees online. The application form will be automatically submitted after fee payment.

Take Printout of Application Form: Candidates must take a printout of the filled application form and keep it safe.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Pattern Paper 2

The exam pattern of JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 has been released by NTA. As per the pattern, JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 will be conducted online except the drawing part of BArch which is offline as a pen-paper-based test. The BArch paper consists of 77 questions, 25 from Mathematics, 50 from General Aptitude and 2 from Drawing. The BPlan paper consists of 100 questions, 25 from Mathematics, 50 from General Aptitude and 25 from Planning. It is very important that students have a clear idea about exam before they start their preparation. Candidates have to select course choice between Paper 2A and 2B while filling application form.

The NTA has released the JEE Main Paper 2 syllabus 2026 on the official website. Candidates can check here JEE Main syllabus for Paper 2 here to know the topics that are covered in the exam. JEE Main BArch syllabus includes topics of Mathematics, General Aptitude and Drawing. The syllabus of JEE Main BPlan consists of topics from Mathematics, General Aptitude and Planning. Students must prepare for the exam using the prescribed syllabus.

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card Paper 2

NTA will release the JEE Main paper 2 admit card 2026 online on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates must download and take a printout of their admit card to appear in the exam. No candidates will be allowed to appear in the exam without admit card. JEE Main City intimation slip 2026 will be released before the admit card.

JEE Main 2026 Counselling

The counselling for admission to BArch and BPlan courses will be organized by JoSAA. JEE Main 2026 counselling will be conducted online tentatively in June. Students will have to register online to participate in the counselling for seat allotment in NITs, IIEST Shibpur and GFTIs.

The JEE Mains cutoff of 2026 has not been released yet. However, in 2025 the closing rank for the general category for BTech in AI and ML was 1843344. In 2024 the closing rank for SDEC BTech AI and ML was 737084.

No, Cluster Innovation Centre does not accept JEE Mains for BTech admissions. Students must appear for the CUET exam and participate in CSAS counselling. No other admission tests including JEE are considered by the college.

No, VIT Vellore BTech admission is not decided through JEE Mains scores. Candidates who wish to apply for BTech must appear in VITEEE only in order to qualify for VIT Vellore admission. No other entrance exams have been mentioned as alternatives to VITEEE.

NMIT Bangalore reserves 2% seats for candidates with JEE Main score of at least 75. JEE category aspirants are eigible for Merit Scholarship seats, provided they score a minimum of 85 NTA score and not less than 80% aggregate in PCM in Class 12. The ranking is based on JEE Main NTA score.

No, JEE Main is not compulsory for taking admission in the BTech programme at JECRC University. Candidates can get admission based on their merit in Class 12 exam. However, students with JEE Main score are preferred more for admission.
