JEE Main 2025 Application Form: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release JEE Main Application Form 2025 Session 1 in November. For session 2, the JEE Main 2025 application form date will be available in March. The application form will be available online on the NTA JEE Main 2025 website– jeemain.nta.ac.in.

The application fee of JEE Main 2025 is INR 1000 for unreserved category candidates while for reserved category and female candidates, JEE Main application fees 2025 is INR 800.

To fill the Application form, candidates must to fulfill the JEE Main 2025 Eligibility criteria. As per the eligibility criteria, candidates applying for JEE Main 2025 must have passed class 12 in 2023, 2024 or appearing in 2025. There is no condition of age or marks in class 12 to apply for JEE Mains.

Candidates need to upload scanned image of their passport size photo, signature while filling the form. Candidates belonging to reserved category (OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST and PwD) also need to upload their category certificate in the application form.

Candidates interested in appearing for both January and April sessions of JEE Main 2025 can fill the single form during JEE Main Registration 2025 session 1.

Q:   What is JEE Main application form 2025 official website?

A:

The JEE Main application form 2025 official website is jeemain.nta.ac.in. NTA will release the JEE Main 2025 application form in the official website in November. Candidates can fill the form from the website. Q:   Is the criteria of 75% marks in class 12 applicable in JEE Main 2025?

Candidates must note that there is no requirement of 75% marks in class for appearing in JEE Mains. The JEE Main eligibility criteria of minimum 75% marks in class 12 is required at the time of admission in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Q:   What is Aadhar Enrollment Number used in JEE Main Application Form?

A:

Aadhar enrollment number is a unique number which students can find in the acknowledgement receipt received at the time of applying for Aadhar. Students should know that Aadhar enrollment number is not same as Aadhar number. At the time of filling JEE Main application form, candidates have to fill Aadhar Enrollment number and not Aadhar number.

In case candidates do not have Aadhar enrollment number, students can apply through Passport, PAN or ABC ID (Academic Bank of Credit ID).

Important Guidelines for Images and Documents

  • A colour or black and white photo should be used. The candidates are allowed to have spectacles in the photograph. Whereas, sunglasses and caps are not allowed.
  • Unclear photos will not be accepted. The photo uploaded should be clear and adhere to the recommended file size, and format as per the guidelines provided by NTA.
  • Signature should be clearly done on white paper. The size and format of the signature uploaded should be as per guidelines.
  • The documents uploaded should be of the size and format prescribed by the NTA.

Q:   Is JEE Main syllabus similar to the syllabus of and CBSE/other state boards of class 11 and 12?

A:
The syllabus of JEE Main is similar to class 11 and 12. However, some topics may be extra in JEE Main. Syllabus which are not covered in class 11 or 12. Students preparing for the JEE Main exam need to study as per the official syllabus which is released by the NTA. Also, students can follow NCERT textbooks as the base for studying the syllabus of JEE Main.
 

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JEE Main?

A:

The JEE Main question paper will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as per the prescribed syllabus. Each Subject will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any 05 (five) questions out of 10. There will be negative marking for both Section A and Section B. For each question in Section B.A. Candidate has to enter the correct integer value of the answer using the mouse and the on-screen virtual numeric keypad in the place designated to enter the answer. For Section B, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.

How to Apply for JEE Mains 2025

The filling of the JEE Main Application Form 2025 is a four-step process. It includes registration, filling the academic and personal information, uploading the necessary documents, and payment of the JEE Mains 2025 registration fee. Follow the steps below to know how to apply for JEE Main and fill the JEE Main 2025 application form.

  • Visit the official JEE Main Registration NTA website jeemain.nta.ac.in 2025 registration link
  • Select the JEE Mains Apply Online option that says "New Candidate Registration."
  • Select the preferred registration mode through Aadhar enrollment number/PAN/Passport or ABC ID.

Candidates need to fill details related to education, personal details like name, address, father & mother name, category. Beside this, candidates also need to upload scanned image of phot and signature in the application form. Candidates who belong to reserved category like EWS, OBC-NCL, SC or ST need to upload the category certificte issued by the competent authority. 

 

Q:   How many minimum marks are required to clear JEE Mains?

A:
The minimum marks required to clear JEE Mains depends on your category. If you are an SC candidate then your cut off is 48, for ST candidate your cut off will be 56, for OBC candidate the cutoff will be 72 and for OC candidate it is 100. This is based on the year wise analysis. This needs not to be same every year. But the variation will not be very large, it just varies by 2-3 marks.
 

Q:   Do I need to send the printout of JEE Main application form to NTA office?

A:

No, candidates are not required to send the prinout of JEE Main application form 2025 to the NTA office. Candidates have to fill and submit the application form online only. However, it is advised that candidates download, take a printout of their filled application form and keept it safe until the completion of admission process. Q:   What is JEE Main Eligibility marks in class 12th?

A:

NTA JEE Main eligibility criteria for candidates to appear in the exam is

  • There is no minimum or maximum percentage required to appear in JEE Main. However, candidate need to have 75% marks in class 12 in addition to a valid JEE Main rank in order to get admission in NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs.  
  • Candidate must have passed class 12 in 2022, 2023 or appearing in 2024
  • Candidate must have Maths and Physics as a compulsory subejct in class 12 for Paper 1 (BTech)
  • For Paper 2A (BArch), it is compulsory to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12 and for Paper 2B (BPlan), candidate must have Mathematics in class 12

Q:   Do I need to fill up separate application forms for each session of JEE Main 2025?

A:

Yes, Candidates who wish to appear in both the sessions of JEE Main 2025 need to fill application form separately for all sessions. However, the JEE Main registration need to be done only once. Candidates who applies for the first session of JEE Mains 2025 can use their login credentials while applying for the second session. During the second session application filling, candidates only need to enter details of paper for which appearing, exam centre preference and pay the application fees. Other details related to education, address, parents details documents uploaded are taken from the first session application process.

Candidates also have the option of filling the combined application form for both session 1 and 2 during session 2 application process.

 

Q:   Can I fill JEE Main application form 2025 offline?

A:

No, JEE Main application form can only be filled online. The application form of JEE Main is released only in online mode on the website jeemain.nta.ac.in. There is no option of filling the application form in offline mode. Candidates who do not have a laptop/personal computer can visit the computer centre/common service centres to fill the application form. While filling the JEE Main 2025 application form, candidates will also have to upload scanned image of their photo and signature. Candidates belonging to reserved category (Gen-EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL) also need to upload the category certificate.

 

What's New in JEE Main 2025 Registration Process

NTA introduced a few changes in the application process for JEE Main 2025. Check out the new changes:

Candidate needs to select any one of the following to register for JEE Main

  • To log in/create a Digi locker account through the NAD portal. Or;
  • To log in/create an Academic Bank of Credits ID (ABC ID) through the ABC ID. Or;
  • To log in using an Indian Indian Passport Number. Or;
  • To log in using a Non-Indian Passport Number. Or;
  • To log in using a PAN Card Number. Or;
  • To log in using an Aadhaar Enrollment Number. 

Candidate needs to select options for Authentication at the Examination Centre.

  • Authenticate through an Aadhaar Card
  • Authenticate through Valid Government ID with a Photograph

Note: The candidates are advised to register through Digi Locker/ABC ID. Those candidates who do not wish to register through the Digi Locker / ABC ID, need to report early (one hour prior to the entry time) at the examination Centre on the day of the examination. 

  • The choice of exam cities for the exam will be displayed to candidates based on the permanent and present address filled in during JEE Main 2025 registration.

  • After final submission, candidates will receive a copy of their filled application form in their email ID. Candidates can also download their forms from the UMANG app or DigiLocker.

Note: In case a candidate does not have a Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL/PwD/SC/ST certificate, they need to upload the "Self Declaration/Undertaking" in the specified format available in the information brochure.

Q:   What documents are required to fill JEE Main application form?

A:

Yes, candidates can upload black & white photograph in JEE Mains application form. There is no restriction on the type of photograph. The conditions that candidates need to fulfill for uploading the photograph are

  • Photograph should be in JPEG/JPG format
  • Dimention has to be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm
  • Size has to be 10 KB to 200 KB

Also, the photograph should be clear with white background. The candidates are allowed to have spectacles in the photograph but sunglasses and caps are not allowed. JEE Main application form 2024 will be released in December.

 

Q:   What is the age limit to apply for JEE Main?

A:

As per the JEE Main eligibility criteria released by the NTA there is no maximum or minimum age to apply for JEE Main. Candidates of any age can apply and appear in the JEE Main exam. The only criteria which is applicable is that the candidate can appear in JEE Mains for three consecutive years from the year of passing class 12. For example, if a candidate is applying for JEE Main 2024, candidate must have passed class 12 in 2022, 2023 or appearing in 2024.

 

JEE Main 2025 Eligibility Criteria to Fill Form

Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria before applying for the JEE Mains exam 2025. Candidates fulfilling the below-mentioned eligibility conditions are eligible to fill the NTA JEE Main Application Form 2025

  • Candidates who have passed the Class 12 exam in 2023/2024 or appearing in 2025.
  • No age limit.
  • For Paper 1 (BE/BTech), candidates must have Physics and Maths in Class 12 and any other subject from Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical vocational subject.

Q:   Is 75 percent marks in class 12 required for JEE Mains?

A:

Candidates need not have 75 percent marks in class 12 for appearing in JEE Main. As per the official brochure released by the NTA there is no minimum percentage required for appearing in the JEE Main. The requirement of 75 percent marks need not be associated with JEE Main. It is to be understood that 75 percent marks is required for admission to institutes which include NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and IITs. There are many institutes which offer admission on 60% and even less along with JEE Main. Candidates must clearly understand that the requirement of 75 percent marks in class 12 is only for taking admission in the institutes.

 

Q:   Can a commerce/non-science student apply for JEE Mains?

A:

Candidates applying for JEE Main need to fulfill the following subject combination

  • For Paper 1 (BE/BTech), candidates must have Physics and Maths in Class 12 and any one subject from Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical vocational subject.
  • For Paper 2A (BArch), candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in Class 12.
  • For Paper 2B (BPlan), candidates must have Maths in Class 12.

A:

The application fees for JEE Main is

No, JEE Main application fees can not be paid in offline mode. As per the directions of NTA, JEE Main application fees can be paid only in online mode. Candidates can pay the application fees using credit/debit card or internet banking. No other modes/medium of application fee payment is accepted.

 

Q:   What is the payment mode for JEE Main 2025 application fee?

A:

Candidates can pay JEE Main application fees using any one of the following method

  • Credit/debit card of any nationalised bank

  • UPI

Complete Step-by-Step Guide to fill JEE Main Application Form 2025

The given steps can be followed to fill JEE Main 2025 application form. Candidates are advised to fill in all the details in the application carefully and not make any mistakes.

Step 1- Registration: In the first step, candidates must complete the JEE Main 2025 registration process at jeemain.nta.nic.in. After clicking on ‘New Registration’, candidates will have to check the instructions and register by submitting the given details:

  • Personal Details – Name, Parent’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Identity Type, Identification Number.
  • Present Address
  • Permanent Address

A strong password has to be generated by candidates. After confirming all of the provided details, the JEE Main 2025 application number will be generated and displayed on the screen. The application number has to be kept safe since it will be required during the entire admission process.

Step 2- Filling of Application Form: Next, candidates will have to select their nationality, category, session of exam applying for, question paper medium and choice of test cities. Issues with uploading documents

  • Issues with uploading documents and scanned copies of photographs/signatures are the most common problems many students encounter when completing the JEE Main 2025 application.
  • The most common reason for these issues is that the images to be uploaded do not adhere to NTA standards.
  • The issue can be quickly fixed by resizing the image according to the NTA specifications.
  • The images can be resized using one of the many online tools available.
  • Keep the scanned copies of the documents in the proper format and size.

Issues with Application Fee Payment

  • Due to a slow internet speed or problems with the bank server, candidates may experience difficulties paying the fee. Candidates are recommended to try the payment process again later in this circumstance.
  • If the money has been deducted, but the payment status still indicates that payment has not been made, candidates must wait 24 hours before retrying. Candidates will have to pay the fee again if the status still shows “not paid” after 24 hours. The previously paid amount will be credited back to their bank accounts.

Timeout or File not found error

  • For filling the JEE Main 2025 application form, make sure you open the application form page in the recent version of Mozilla Firefox/Internet Explorer and have a stable internet connection.
  • Clear the browser's cookies and history in case of timeout error, then retry during off-peak hours.

JEE Main 2025 Exam Centre

The National Testing Agency (NTA), the examination conducting authority assigns the JEE Main 2025 exam cities and test centres to candidates based on the preferences filled by the candidates in the application form. NTA will conduct the exam in around 290 cities in India and 25 cities outside India. Candidates can choose from a list of JEE Main 2025 exam centres given by NTA. To use the JEE Main 2025 application form correction facility, candidates have to log in to the website using their application form number and password after which they have to select the information that needs to be modified. Candidates must not to fill more than one JEE Main 2025 application form. If any candidate fills multiple application forms, NTA could cancel the forms and his/her candidature will be rejected. It is thus strongly advised to fill out only one application form.

Q:   When will NTA start JEE Main application correction facility?

A:

JEE Main form correction window has started on December 6 on the official website. The facility to make correction is available up to December 8. During the correction window, candidates are allowed to change/modify details filled in their application form. Candidates must note that not all fields in the application form will be open for correction. Only certain information like category, address of correspodance/permanent address, exam city preference, paper choice, photo, signature etc. can be modified. Candidates might also be required to pay additional fees for making corrections in certain fields. 

 

Q:   Is there any fee for making corrections in JEE Main Application form 2025?

A:

No, candidates need not pay any fees for making corrections in JEE Main application form. However, if any candidate changes his/her category from SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD to underserved category, they need to pay the difference in application fees. For making any other changes, candidates don't have to pay any fees. JEE Main correction window will be active in December after the application process is closed.

Q:   How can I check my status of JEE Main application form?

A:

When the application form is completely filled and submitted with fee payment, candidates receive the confirmation mail in their email address registered at the time of filling the form. Candidates can also check the status of their JEE Main application form by login to the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. After login, the status of the application form will show "Application Submitted" if the form has been accepted by the NTA. In case the application form is incomplete, the status message will show the step to be completed to submit the application form.

 

Q:   I have mistakenly filled the wrong category in my JEE Main application form. Will my form be rejected?

A:

Candidates who mistakenly fill any details wrong can modify/correct the details during JEE Main application correction facility. NTA allows the candidate to make corrections after the last date of application process. To make corrections, candidates need to login on the JEE Main official website during the specified dates and  modify the details. In case candidate has entered wrong category, he/she may need to apy the application fee as per the new category. Other details like photo, signature, exam centre preference, paper choice, address can also be changed during the correction window.

The previous year category cutoff rank in NIT Surat was 19361 in Civil Engineering. While the AIR rank was 353269.  So, the chances of getting NIT Surat are very low. Similar chances of getting IIIT Vadodara are also very low.
