The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is different from Tier 2 exam. The SSC CGL exam pattern can fully explain the difference. The candidates should note that the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam consists of four sections:

• General Intelligence and Reasoning
• General Awareness
• Quantitative Aptitude
• English Comprehension

Each section contains 25 questions, with a total of 100 questions in the exam. The maximum marks for the Tier 1 exam are 200, with each section carrying 50 marks. Candidates have a total of 60 minutes to complete the Tier 1 exam.

In the SSC GD Constable exam, a total of 80 questions are asked. Each question carries two marks and there is negative marking.

There are no such repetitive questions in the SSC GD Constable exam. However, the topics and types are generally the same almost every year. The Commission makes changes in the difficulty level of the same topics asked in the exam. Moreover, the Commission may give more weight to one topic this year and another topic next year. For example, there may be more questions on the number system in 2025, and in 2026, the Mathematics section may include more questions on Algebra. So, Candidates need to prepare all the topics and sections carefully.

• Click on the answer key link given inside the notification.
• Login using roll number and password.

The questions in the SSC CHSL exam are set in English, Hindi and any other language opted by candidates in their respective application form, except for Section II Modules-II (English Language and Comprehension modules) of Tier 2 exam. In case of any difference or discrepancy in the SSC CHSL questions between English and the opted language, the content of English language will prevails.

In Tier 1 of the SSC CHSL exam, a total of 100 questions are asked. As per the official notification, the SSC CHSL Tier 1 is divided into four sections- English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. Each section contains 25 MCQs of 2 marks each. Therefore, each section is of 50 marks.

The Staff Selection Commission has introduced new SSC normalization formula for all the exams including- SSC CGL, CHSL, GD, MTS, JE, CPO, etc. This SSC normalization of marks formula is valid for exams notified from June 2025. Here is the SSC marks normalization formula:

 

SSC GD CBE holds weightage of 160 marks. The SSC GD exam pattern was changed in 2022. Earlier, SSC GD CBE held a weightage of 100 marks. The time allotted to the exam is one hour now instead of 90 minutes earlier. The number of questions have been reduced from 100 to 80. The marks allotted to one question have been increased from one to two marks. As a result, the negative marking for incorrect answers increased from 0.25 to 0.50.

The difficulty level of the SSC GD exam is usually of easy to moderate or of moderate level. The SSC GD question paper of the 2024 session was of easy to moderate difficulty level. SSC GD is one of the most sought after exam when it comes to Constable General Duty or Rifleman General Duty jobs in armed forces of India. The questions asked in SSC GD exam are of Class 10 level.
