CUSAT admissions are conducted on the basis of both merit and entrance exams. The university accepts several national-level entrance exams for admissions such as GATE, CAT, KMAT, and others. It also conducts in-house entrance exam like CUSAT CAT or Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test for admission to some of its courses.
Aspirants need to fill out the online form (admission.cusat.ac.in) and submit it for being eligible to take admission. However, the seat allotment for each M.Tech programme shall be on the applicant’s GATE score. Candidates without a GATE exam score can take CUSAT DAT/ Sections A and B exam by the Institution of Engineers (India).
CUSAT admission to Integrated BSc-MSc programme is based on CUSAT CAT score. CUSAT CAT or Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test is a computer-based test conducted for shortlisting aspirants for admission to various courses. After completion of selection rounds, CUSAT releases a rank list based on total marks secured in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry subjects. A separate rank list is released for selected Integrated BSc-MSc specialisation. Based on the rank list, aspirants are called for counselling and document verification round.
CUSAT Kochi offers BTech course to students at the UG level. It is offered for 4 years in several specialisations. To be eligible for BTech at CUSAT Kochi, candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the college. MBA is one of the popular courses of CUSAT. Cochin University is ranked 41 among the top universities in the country as per NIRF 2022 rankings. CAT is one of the accepting exams for CUSAT MBA admission. There are two types of CAT accepted for MBA. One is CAT conducted by conducted by IIM for admission to MBA programme. Step 1: CUSAT MBA Application Process 2024
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply with an application fee of INR 1,100. There is a relaxation in application fee for Kerala SC/ ST candidates. They need to pay a fee of INR 500.
Step 2: Selection Rounds
Cochin University accepts management aptitude tests such as KMAT, CMAT, and IIM-CAT and CUSAT CAT for admission to MBA programme. Aspirants shortlisted based on the entrance exam score are further called for group discussion and personal interview rounds.
Step 3: Rank List
The final rank list for MBA is based on aptitude test, marks obtained in personal interview and group discussion rounds in the ratio of 70:15:15, respectively. The normalisation procedure of the scores in KMAT, C-MAT and IIM-CAT will be decided by the University/Admission

Step 4: Admission Confirmation
After the release of the rank list, selected candidates must come for document verification. They need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.
The total tuition fee for CUSAT MBA ranges between INR 1.2 Lacs and INR 4.7 lakh. This information is sourced from official website/ sanctioning body and is subject to change. Aspirants need to pay the course fee after completion of the selection rounds to confirm their seat. The total tuition fee for BTech in CSE at CUSAT is INR 3.61 lakh. CUSAT CAT is used for BTech course admission. The primary requirements for admission to the BTech Computer Science programme are a Class 12 certificate and an overall percentage of 50% in PCM and 50% in Mathematics. While SEBC students from Kerala State (non-creamy layer category) are entitled toa 5% relaxation in qualifying exam scores, the Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) populations simply need pass marks.

Yes, CUSAT conducts Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test for providing admission to Integrated BSc-MSc courses. Based on CUSAT CAT result, rank list is prepared after completion of CUSAT CAT. The CUSAT CAT examination is a computer-based test (CBT) test conducted for a duration of 3 hours.
