The National Law University of Delhi will conduct the AILET exam on December 14, 2025, for admission to BA LLB and LLM courses. Q:   Is AILET Exam Pattern 2026 revised?
A: 

The NLU Delhi is yet to release the exam pattern of AILET LLM 2026. However, the exam pattern was previously went modification in the year 2024, within which the duration of the exam was changed and the descriptive section in the exam for the AILET PG Exam course was removed. Candidates must check the revised exam pattern of AILET 2026 and the syllabus of AILET 2026 while doing their AILET 2026 preparation.The NLU Delhi will release the AILET 2026 Exam Pattern online on the NLU Delhi official website.

Q:   Which subject has the maximum weightage in the AILET 2026 exam?

The Logical reasoning section carries the maximum weightage; i.e. 50 per cent in the AILET 2025 Exam. Reasoning is actually a combination of both verbal logic, as well as analytical reasoning. So, one part is full of numbers and data, while the other is made of words and puzzles. Reasoning needs ample practice. Books by MK Pandey and RS Aggarwal will suffice. For Data Interpretation (DI) questions, the trick lies in forming the table. Once this is done, the rest of the questions flow automatically. Hence, the students are advised to prepare this subject carefully and give special attention.

Q:   How many times is AILET conducted in a year?
A: 

AILET entrance exam is conducted once in a year in December every year. The exam is conducted for admission to BA LLB, LLM and Phd programs at the NLU Delhi. Candidates who are appearing in CLAT 2026 can also appear for the AILET exam to increase their chances of admission to NLU Delhi.

Q:   Has the AILET 2026 exam pattern changed?

AILET 2026 exam pattern did not undergo any changes this year, yet, however, the NLU Delhi reserves the right to introduce any revisions to the exam pattern. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official website to avoid any last minute surprises. AILET 2026 exam will comprise 150 MCQ based questions from three sections: English, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. Earlier, the all India Law entrance test had one more section namely, Legal Aptitude which was removed from the exam syllabus in the previous session.

  • Focus on what matters most. In the AILET BA LLB exam, the Logical Reasoning and English Language sections carry the highest weight, equal to 70 and 50 marks, respectively. Practice these sections well to score high in them and increase your overall AILET score.
  • Solve previous years' questions because there is a high chance of questions being repeated in the current year's question paper.
  • Only study the topics relevant to the AILET syllabus.

For GK, Arihant General Knowledge, Lucent, or Tarun Goyal's GK book can be preferred. You must also read newspapers regularly for both law exams.
Logical Reasoning: For this section, usually any good reasoning book, such as A Modern Approach to Logical Reasoning by RS Agarwal, Analytical Reasoning by MK Pandey, or A New Approach to Verbal and Analytical Reasoning by Arihant, can be followed.
