What is AILET Exam?
AILET stands for the All India Law Entrance Test. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted yearly by National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi). Students can take admission to its undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral law programs after clearing AILET. This national-level law entrance exam is held once every year. Courses offered through this entrance exam are BA LLB, LLM, and PhD. Candidates need to prepare with utmost care to score good marks in this exam.

The invite list for AILET has the following details-
- The invite list is released category-wise.
- It included the application number, roll number, total marks, and All India Ranks of candidates shortlisted for counselling.
- It also included the seat matrix and reservation for AILET admission process.
- The counselling schedule.
- The step-wise counselling process.
AILET (All India Law Entrance Test) is conducted once a year. It is held in December for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs.
The AILET counselling fee of INR 30,000 (INR for reserved category candidates) will be refunded only to candidates who have successfully registered for the counselling and paid the fee but who could not find a place in the merit list. The refund will be initiated by NLU Delhi to the source on completion of the admission process, whichever is earlier.
Candidates must note that counseling fee has to be paid online using Digital Payment methods like Credit/ Debit cards, Net-banking, UPI, etc. only. AILET Online Counselling Registration Fee

AILET merit list has the name of the candidate, registration number, and rank. It also gives instructions for admission and seat reservation. If candidates do not pay the fee within the time, their candidature will be cancelled.
AILET 2027 counselling dates are yet to be announced.
NLU Delhi conducts the AILET exam every year for admission to the BA LLB & LLM programs. Candidates who appear in the exam will then be called for admission as per the rank and scores achieved in the exam. The candidates whose names appear in the merit list are then required to appear for document verification and fee payment.
No. One cant change the AILET Exam centre once the application form is submitted online. Candidates have to choose options of exam centre while applying for the exam. The exam centre option is filled during the final registration for AILET. Candidates can declare maximum 3 options for exam centre. AILET will let candidates know about name and address of exam centre through the admit card. The admit card for AILET has to be carried to the exam centre else candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
No, the admit card of AILET is issued at least 10 days before the examination after NLUD assess the total applicants and availability of seats at the testing locations. The AILET 2027 admit card will be released on November 30, 2026.
No, candidates were not allowed to appear for the examination without a valid photo ID. Candidates were advised to keep the following three things ready with them, a day before the examination; a valid photo ID proof, AILET admit card, and a recent passport-sized photograph. These were the mandatory documents to be produced during entry to the AILET exam centre. The valid photo identity card which would be allowed at the AILET 2027 exam centre include Aadhaar card/ Driving Licence/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Voter Id. The admit card should also have the passport and postcard-sized photographs pasted on it.
Even though NLU Delhi is a National Law University but it is not a part of the Consortium of NLUs. All the NLUs in India have been granted the status by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Thus, there is no major difference in the courses offered at NLU Delhi as compared to the other National Law Universities. However, the NLU Delhi offers admission to is BA LLB and LLM program through the AILET entrance exam.
Candidates must note that the AILET Exam 2027 has negative marking too. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark. Candidates must be very careful while attempting the questions paper of AILET 2027. Candidates are advised to solve mock tests and previous years' question papers to get hand on things. Candidates must keep track of time while practicing for AILET 2027 exam.
