AILET Exam Fees 2026

Candidates who wish to take admission to the 5-year integrated LLB program & LLM programs at the NLU Delhi will have to appear for the AILET 2026 exam, which is scheduled to be held on December 14, 2025, 2 PM to 4 PM. The application window for the AILET exam was opened on August 07, 2026 on the NLU Delhi official website. Candidates were able register for the AILET exam until November 10, 2025. The AILET application will be filled out online, and once the fee is paid, candidates will receive the confirmation receipt on their portal. The NLU Delhi examination cell has revised the application fee this year.

AILET 2026: Why Application Fee?

NLU Delhi has put out the AILET 2026 notice and shared the main dates for the exam. You need to fill the form, pay the fee, and upload all the needed papers before the last date ends. The AILET 2026 application fee helps in running the exam and covering registration costs. The money collected goes toward exam setup, infrastructure, and handling of forms so everything runs smooth.

Q:   Will Section A and Section B in the question paper of AILET LLM, be provided together?
A: 

Candidates must note that the AILET LLM 2027 Exam pattern was changed last year. The main subjects of AILET LLM 2027 question paper will be as under: Different branches of law (Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Law of Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law, Labour & Industrial Law).

The AILET 2027 LLM syllabus will have 100 MCQ questions pertaining to different areas of law. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect attempt.

AILET 2026 General Category Fee Structure

The application fee for the General Category candidates is higher than the other categories to furnish the resources and accommodate the needs to conduct the exam. Candidates belonging to the General category will have to pay a sum of INR 3000 to register for the AILET 2026 exam.

Q:   Is there negative marking in AILET Exam?

Candidates must note that the AILET Exam 2027 has negative marking too. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark. Candidates must be very careful while attempting the questions paper of AILET 2027. Candidates are advised to solve mock tests and previous years' question papers to get hand on things. Candidates must keep track of time while practicing for AILET 2027 exam.

Q:   Has the AILET 2026 exam pattern changed?

AILET 2026 exam pattern did not undergo any changes this year, yet, however, the NLU Delhi reserves the right to introduce any revisions to the exam pattern. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official website to avoid any last minute surprises. AILET 2026 exam will comprise 150 MCQ based questions from three sections: English, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. Earlier, the all India Law entrance test had one more section namely, Legal Aptitude which was removed from the exam syllabus in the previous session.

 AILET 2026 PwD Category Fee Structure

Applicants belonging to the (Persons with Disability) PwD Category will have to make a payment of INR 1000 to register for the AILET exam 2026. The fee is comparatively less than the fee to be paid by the General category candidates to ensure that the accessibility of exam to each group. This concession ensures that aspirants with disabilities can appear in the exam without financial constraints.

AILET 2026 SC/ ST Category Fee Structure

The AILET fee structure for SC category candidates is INR 1000 while applying for the exam. This reduction in fee is to comply with the Government policies to promote education among the economicaly weaker section.

AILET 2026: BPL Fee Structure

The BPL category candidates belonging to the SC/ST Category and Wome are not required to pay the AILET application fee. This move is to encourage participation from the financially disadvantaged groups and provide them with opportunities for higher education in Law.

AILET 2026 Application Fee: Mode of Payment

The mode of AILET application fee payment is online and can be done by using any of the following means:

  • Debit/ Credit Cards
  • Netbanking
  • Using UPI IDs

Candidates can choose the payment mode flexible to them to apply for the exam and complete the AILET application form process 2026.

AILET 2026: Application Fee Confirmation         

The application fee once paid will get a unique transaction ID and the applicants will receive a confirmation message and receipt online. Candidates will be required to thoroughly check the receipt and save it for future references.

AILET 2026: Application Fee Refund Policy                

The AILET 2026 application fee usually can’t be taken back once you pay and submit the form. Still, if there’s some technical issue or you end up paying twice by mistake, NLU Delhi might look into it and give the refund after checking the case.

Refund Policy for University Fees

As per the latest notification by NLU Delhi, fee will be refunded in following cases:

1. The counselling fee is fully refunded if a candidate exits the admission process.
2. If the candidate goes with the admission, the counselling fee is adjustable.
3. In case of candidates back out from the admission, the entire fee paid by the candidate will be refunded in accordance with UGC guidelines.

AILET 2026 Application Late Fee

NLU Delhi will open the application window with late fee for candidates who miss to apply within the AILET application deadline 2026. Applicants will be charged with higher amounts for submitting the late applications.

To avoid such situation, it is advised to fill the AILET application 2026 before the last date is over. 

AILET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To give AILET exam 2026, you got to meet the eligibility rules before you start filling the form. The AILET eligibility criteria for BA LLB, LLM and PhD courses is shared down here. You must check it careful so you don’t miss any small thing. For the 5-year integrated LLB program, you need to pass your 10+2 exam with at least 45% marks, and if you’re from SC or ST category then 40% marks is fine. For AILET LLM eligibility, you should have done your 3-year or 5-year LLB degree with minimum 50% marks from any recognized college. The AILET PhD eligibility says you must hold an LLM degree with 55% marks or more. There is no age limit for AILET exam 2026, so anyone who meet the education part can apply.

BA LLB/ BCom (AILET 2026 Eligibility)

10+2 exam with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST)

LLM (AILET PG Eligibility)

3-year LLB or 5-year LLB with atleast 50% marks

PhD

LLM degree with minimum 55% scores from a recognized institute.

Candidates must note that there is no age limit to take up the AILET exam.

The AILET Objection Window will open in December 2027. Candidates will be able to raise objections to the AILET Answer Key within a timeline of 2 days. Once the objections are received, the NLU Delhi will publish the AILET Final Answer Key. Based on that, the AILET Result will be announced.
