SLAT 2019 was conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU) today, May 4 from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM. The exam was conducted to provide admission to eligible candidates in BA LLB and BBA LLB courses offered at Symbiosis Law School Pune (SLS Pune), Symbiosis Law School Noida (SLS Noida), and Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad (SLS Hyderabad).
The law entrance exam was conducted in online mode as a computer-based test (CBT). SLAT 2019 question paper consisted of total 150 questions that were spread across five sections – Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge. Total weightage of the paper was 150 marks. There was no negative marking in the exam. Candidates had to complete the exam in two and a half hours duration.

Section-Wise SLAT 2019 Exam Analysis & Type of Questions Asked
Overall, SLAT 2019 was easy as compared to law entrance exams like Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and All India Law Entrance Test (AILET). There were no surprises in SLAT 2019 question paper. The paper was easy and exam pattern was same as previous years. Candidates could finish their paper much before the time. Go through the section-wise SLAT 2019 exam analysis below. SLAT 2019: Logical Reasoning
Questions in Logical Reasoning section were easy. The section contained a variety of questions on topics such as number series, odd one out in numbers, verbal analogies, word coding, directions, and family tree.

SLAT 2019: Legal Reasoning
Questions in Legal Reasoning section of the exam were of easy to moderate difficulty level as they required candidates to have a good memory. Some of the topics from which questions in this section were asked are constitutional law, criminal law, torts, and contracts.
SLAT 2019: Analytical Reasoning
The Analytical Reasoning section of SLAT 2019 was also of easy to moderate difficulty level. Questions asked were from topics such as profit and loss, ratio proportion, ages, and time and work and partnership.
SLAT 2019: Reading Comprehension
This section had about six passages of varying word count. The passages, however, were not very lengthy or difficult to comprehend. The reading comprehensions were on topics such as GST, Niti Ayog, racism, environment protection, and mining and surveillance.
SLAT 2019: General Knowledge
Questions asked in this section of the exam were of moderate difficulty level. The section had a mix of current affairs and static GK questions. Some of the topics/ subjects from which questions were asked in this section are Economics, names of personalities, government schemes, and world forums.

While the law entrance exam is over now, SLAT 2019 result will be released by Symbiosis International University on May 14. Since the paper was easy, the cutoff for SLAT is expected to be high this year.
