SLAT 2026 will be conducted for admission to 5-year integrated LLB courses at the four most reputed Law Schools under Symbiosis International (Deemed) University (SIU). The SLAT 2026 application process requires aspirants to be aware of the documents required for SLAT 2026 registration.

SLAT exam is scheduled to be held on, December 20, 2025 and December 28, 2025 at the designated centres across the country. SLAT 2026 will be accepted by four SLSs namely, SLS, Pune, SLS Noida, SLS Hyderabad, SLS Nagpur situated across the nation.

SLAT 2027 notification is likely to be released on the SIU portal anytime soon. Candidates must register for the exam by the last date. Aspiring candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria before filling up the application form. 

Q:   Does SLAT happen twice a year?
A: 

SLAT does not occur twice a year, but it takes place on two consecutive dates within the same session. Candidates have the option to appear in either or both. The best attempt from the two will be considered to prepare the merit list. SLAT 2027 exam will be held on:

A: 

SLAT 2026 refers to the Symbiosis Law Admission Test which is conducted by the four SLSs (Symbiosis Law Schools) in India. The SLAT exam is conducted on two dates and candidates will have the option to appear in both of one. The best score among the both will be considered for preparing the merit list & result. 

Documents Required for SLAT 2026 Registration

Candidates aspiring to register for the exam must keep the following documents ready before applying for the exam:

  • Scanned Passport-size photograph (Recent, clear – JPEG, JPG format). Your photograph should not be more than 06 months old.
  • Scanned Signature (Black/blue ink on white paper – JPEG format)
  • Valid Email ID and mobile number
  • Class 10 mark sheet
  • Class 12 mark sheet (If passed)

Other Documents Required During Later Stages of SLAT 2026 Admission

  • Valid ID Proof (required during admit card verification)
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD – if applicable, required during PI & Admission process)
  • Domicile certificate (if applying under state quota)
  • BPL certificate (for BPL category applicants)
  • Valid Photo ID proof (Aadhaar, Passport, PAN, Voter ID, etc.)

Why SLAT 2026 Documents are important?

\The following is the importance of SLAT 2026 documents:

  • Helps during identity and eligibility verification
  • Establishes identity on the exam day as SLAT admit card details are fetched from the documents provided during SLAT registration

Q:   Is SLAT easier than CLAT?
A: 

Both the exams, SLAT & CLAT are based on the 10+2 level syllabus and candidates may find both the exams' difficulty on the same level. The syllabus for both the exam also stands on a similar page and the exams consist of questions from Logical and legal reasoning, analytical reasoning, reading comprehension, & General Knowledge. Candidates can appear for both the exams to increase their possibility of admission to the top colleges in India.

Q:   What are the eligibility criteria for SLAT?
A: 

To be eligible for the SLAT exam, candidates should pass 10+2 exam from any recognised board. Candidates from the general or open category must have scored 45%. 

Q:   What are the reservation criteria for SLAT?
A: 

SLAT exam authority uses University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines for SLAT reservation policy. As per the exam authority, the total percentage of reserved seats for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates is 15. The total percentage of seats reserved for Scheduled Tries candidates in SLAT is 7.5%. The exam authority has reserved 5% of seats for wards of Defence Personnel at Symbiosis Law School Pune. The reservation facility for wards of Defence personnel is not available at the other three Symbiosis Law Schools. Moreover, 3% of total seats are reserved for Different Able candidates in all SLSs through SLAT.

SLAT 2026 Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission at Symbiosis International University (SIU) through SLAT 2026 must meet its eligibility criteria before applying. Candidates can check the SLAT eligibility criteria in the table given below:

Q:   Will I be called for PI round even if I have not cleared SLAT Exam?
A: 

No, you will not be called for the Personal Interview (PI) round for Symbiosis Law Schools if you haven't cleared the SLAT exam. Candidates must note that SLAT scores are mandatory for shortlisting. You need to score above the cut-off to get a PI call, and you must attend all parts of the PI to be eligible for admission. 

Q:   Does SLAT have two attempts?
A: 

No, SLAT 2026 gives you only one attempt in a year. You can't take the test twice in the same admission cycle. The score from that single attempt is used for admission to all Symbiosis Law Schools. If you want to try again, you can apply next year when the new SLAT exam opens.

No, it is mandatory to clear the SLAT Exam to be eligible to appear in the counselling process. Candidates will be allocated a seat based on the college they choose during the counselling, and hence, without clearing the exam, it is not allowed.

SLAT preparation is easy. Create a proper schedule to prepare for the exam on a daily basis. Allot more time to practicing and studying law topics. It takes 6 to 8 hours of revision if you make a section-wise plan. This entrance is comparatively easy to other top law entrances.
