Legal Aptitude is one of the toughest parts for most of the students as there are many approaches and sometimes the given study is different from what we have studied but don’t worry if you practice it you will be able to solve them with ease. Some of the topics of this part require tricks.
CLAT is one of the unexplored exams that most of the students don’t know about hence giving a competitive advantage to the students appearing for the same. It is one of the exams that has very less competition as the number of colleges is sufficient to imbibe the students who are seriously appearing for the same. Might not the NLUs but yes there are many private institutions as well that will offer you a good study culture on their campus.
Explore colleges based on CLAT
First of all, let us look at the pattern of the paper. CLAT paper mainly comprises of 4 broad categories:
- Reading comprehension/English
- Aptitude
- Legal reasoning
- General Awareness
In the English part, you can see questions based on reading comprehension, word meaning, synonym, jumbled sentences, etc. You can get this concept easily if you practice it daily.
In the aptitude section, you will get questions on basic Mathematics and some mathematical induction questions as well. The level would be elementary as compared to any other exam of the same category.
Legal Aptitude is one of the toughest parts for most of the students as there are many approaches and sometimes the given study is different from what we have studied but don’t worry if you practice it you will be able to solve them with ease. Some of the topics of this part require tricks. If you are in a coaching institute then the concerned faculty will guide you. Once you get those tricks, this part becomes a cakewalk for you.
For General Awareness, you have to study History as well as the current affairs of the last 2 years. And go through the current affairs of even 1 day before the exam because you might get questions from that too. I appeared for CLAT in 2017 and in that year it was scheduled on 14 May. I remember one question that came in my exam “ Who is the youngest President of France”? On 8th May the election results of France were declared. So be updated with the current affairs.
The most important thing that is needed in this exam is speed. You need to solve 200 questions in merely 120 minutes. So start appearing for the mock test 3 months before the exam and you will definitely see the difference in your speed that will benefit you in the exam.
You can opt for self-study also but for that, you will have to take care of your consistency. For mock tests, you have to either join the test series or you can opt for the books which have mock tests. But if you join the test series, you can get the proper environment of sitting for 2 hours in the exam and how to handle things.

No, you don't have to take the CLAT 2026 exam to get admission in Chandigarh University. Instead, you must take the university's own entrance examination, the CUCET (Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test), which is very simple to pass. The best thing is that if you score well in CUCET, you can

Yes, you can absolutely prepare for CLAT and UPES ULSAT together, as they share significant syllabus overlap (Legal/Logical Reasoning, GK, English, Quant), making integrated preparation efficient; focus on core areas for both but tailor extra practice for ULSAT's specific GK/current affairs and CLAT

There is no restriction as such for the CLAT exam. Thus, one can give CLAT any number of times they want to. Candidates should not feel bad if they are not able to clear the CLAT exam in first time.
