To achieve a score above 120 marks, candidates must distribute their target scores strategically across the three sections based on the syllabus weightage, strengths, and weaknesses.

TGICET Analytical Ability Preparation Tips for 120+ Marks

The Analytical Ability section acts as the tie-breaker if two candidates secure the same total marks. The section is divided into Data Sufficiency (20 questions) and Problem Solving (55 questions).

  • Problem Solving: Candidates should focus on Sequence and Series, with nearly 25 questions, Data Analysis , with around 10 questions, and Coding-Decoding, with around 10 questions.

  • Data Sufficiency: These questions test logical deduictions rather than mathematical calculations. Candidates get two statements, they need to determine if the provided statements are adequate to answer the question.

  • Target Score: Candidates must aim to solve 50 questions with complete accuracy. Since there is no negative marking, candidates should guess the remaining 25 questions. Statistically, guessing yields 5 to 7 additional marks, pushing the section score to approximately 55-57 marks.

TGICET Mathematical Ability Preparation Tips for 120+ Marks

This section consists of Arithmetical Ability (35 marks), Algebraical and Geometrical Ability (30 marks), and Statistical Ability (10 marks).

  • High-Yield Topics: Arithmetical Ability (Ratio & Proportion, Time & Work, Profit & Loss) and Statistical Ability (Mean, Median, Mode, Probability) offer a high return on invested time.

  • Strategy for Weak Students: Candidates weak in mathematics can deprioritize the Algebra and Geometry subsection (30 marks), as these questions consume more time. Instead, candidates should target 18-20 marks in Arithmetic and 7-10 marks in Statistics. Guessing the remaining questions can push the final section score to 37-45 marks.

  • Calculation Speed: Candidates must memorize squares up to 30, cubes up to 15, and fundamental formulas to improve mental calculation speed.

TGICET Communication Ability Preparation Tips for 120+ Marks

This section includes Vocabulary (10 marks), Business and Computer Terminology (10 marks), Functional Grammar (15 marks), and Reading Comprehension (15 marks).

  • Reading Comprehension: Candidates must secure 14 to 15 marks here. Daily reading of editorials or passages for 10-15 minutes is required to improve comprehension speed and accuracy.

  • Terminology: Memorizing standard computer abbreviations (LAN, WAN, URL, HTML) and basic business terms (IPO, Blue Chip) easily secures 10 marks.

  • Grammar: Reviewing basic functional grammar rules, such as active/passive voice, tenses, articles, and prepositions, helps secure grammar marks.

  • Target Score: Candidates should target a minimum of 30-31 marks in this section.

Time Management Tips to Score 120+ Marks in TS ICET

Candidates have 150 minutes to complete the TG ICET exam. Although there is no sectional time limit, candidates must split their time with 60 minutes for Analytical Ability and Mathematical Ability each, and remaining 30 minutes for Communication Ability.

One must try and answer each question in the TS ICET exam within 40 seconds. If a question is taking more than a minute, candidates should skip it and return later to avoid sacrificing marks they could obtain in other sections. Answering each question within 40 secons will make a buffer of at least 15 minutes for questions that were skipped earlier. Since their is no negative marking, candidates must mark all questions that were skipped earlier to capitalise using guess work.
