Shiksha conducted a poll to find out which section of the TGICET exam candidates find most difficult. Most participants said the Analytical Ability section was the hardest. After that, 36 percent of the candidates said the Mathematical Ability section was the toughest. These results show that many struggle with logical and numerical parts of the exam. However, the difficulty of any section can change from one candidate to another. It depends on how well a person has prepared. Individual strengths and weaknesses also play a big role. What is tough for one person may be easier for someone else.
TGICET Analytical Ability Difficulty
Analytical Ability section of TS ICET exam is divided into two major components, including Data Sufficiency and Problem Solving questions. Among both the parts of ICET Analytical Ability section, candidates find Data Sufficiency questions to be time consuming. To prepare well for the TG ICET Analytical Ability section, refer to the important topics, weighatge, preparation tips and few questions below.
TGICET Analytical Ability Important Topics and Weightage
While appearing for TS ICET exam, candidates will find the following weightage in the Analytical Ability section:
| TS ICET Analytical Ability Topics |
TS ICET Weightage (Topic wise number of questions) |
|---|---|
| Data Sufficiency |
20 |
| Analogy |
10 |
| Odd one out |
5 |
| Series |
10 |
| Data Analysis |
10 |
| Coding and Decoding |
10 |
| Date, Time and Arrangement |

Most of the topics in the Analytical Ability section has a weightage of 10 questions. However, Data Sufficiency accounts to the maximum weightage with 20 questions.
TGICET Analytical Ability Preparation Tips
In the Telangana ICET exam, the Mathematical Ability section is usually considered the toughest among all three sections. This section typically includes the questions that are not only conceptually challenging but are time consuming. With TS ICET exam being a time sensitive exam having less than 1 minute for each question, solving Mathematical Ability section becomes difficult. The time management typically raises the difficulty bar for the Mathematical Ability section.
The difficulty level of a section can also vary for individuals based on their preparation and conceptual understanding of a concept. A candidate may find Communication Ability to be difficult, if he/she doesn't have a good hold on the language.
TG ICET normalisation formula takes into account the average scores and standard deviations of each shift and compares them with the overall values across all sessions. TSICET normalisation formula also considers the average marks of the top 0.1 per cent of candidates from all shifts individually and combined. Using these values, a normalised score is calculated after adjusting the raw marks of each candidate.
TS ICET normalisation process ensures that a candidate who took the exam in a difficult exam shift is not disadvantaged while being evaluated.
- Begin the preparation with Data Sufficiency as it has the highest number of questions. Focus on understanding if the given information is enough to answer the question. This topic needs logical thinking more than solving. One must devote more time to practice different types of questions. Know your basics in arithmetic and logic.
- After Data Sufficiency, candidates must focus on Series, Analogy, Coding and Decoding, Data Analysis, and Date, Time and Arrangement. Each of these topics are expected to have 10 questions. Spend 2 to 3 days on each of these topics. Practice questions from past 10 year papers to get hold on different types of questions.
- Candidates get five questions with the odd-one out structure. These questions in the Analytical Ability section are easy to score. While preparing for this part, candidates will have to identify patterns and differences. Solve these types of questions quickly. Regular practice will help you improve.
- Focus on solving 25 to 30 questions daily. Mix different topics while practicing. This will help candidates to have a balanced preparation. Additionally, candidates must revise old topics every second day.
- Practice solving the full Analytical Ability section in 50 to 55 minutes. While preparing, candidates must plan how much time to spend on each topic. Try to stay within that time during practice.
TGICET Communication Ability Difficulty
The Communication Ability section of TS ICET exam is divided into eight parts with a major component being Reading Comprehension. Candidates will find three comprehensions with five questions each. The remaining seven parts of the ICET Communication Ability section have five questions each. Test takers appearing for the TGICET exam usually find the Communication Ability section on an easier side.
