  • Read: The most important part of the preparation for the VARC section is reading. Reading at least 10-12 pages every day is a tried and test method that can fetch you a good score in this section. Read informative books, newspapers, blogs, magazines, articles, passages, etc. Read books on diverse topics that will help widen your knowledge sphere. Try devoting at least an hour daily to reading. Write down the new words that you come across and immediately look up their meaning in the dictionary. This will help in enriching your vocabulary and at the same time improve your reading skills.
  • Read critically: It is important to understand that writing follows logic. One must learn to examine any piece of writing critically. Many questions in the VARC section will concern the logical flow of the comprehension passage. Divide a particular passage into facts, assumptions and conclusions. Try to understand the passage by rephrasing it into a simpler language and understand the essence.
  • Practice: The key to success is always practice. There is no alternative to practice. To ace the Grammar part of the VARC section practice as much as you can. Begin the preparation for grammar by understanding the fundamentals to gain conceptual clarity.
  • Revision: Attempt a good number of mock tests and solve enough sample papers if you wish to ace any competitive exam. Once you complete the entire syllabus make sure that you dedicate a few hours from your schedule to attempting mock tests. Mock tests will prepare you for the actual exam and will reduce the chances of getting surprise questions.
